J.Crew Will Not Be Forgotten! ;)

"Thanks!" to Louise, who shared the above email that she received from J.Crew recently.

The email came with the subject line of "You forgot something..." and basically let's her know that the items she has left in her virtual online shopping cart is still waiting for her.

I have received these types of emails from Gap, but not from J.Crew. I actually think it is a clever marketing move. Another suggestion to J.Crew: it would be nice to include the exact items in the users' shopping cart and their availability. And while I am at it, it would be awesome if J.Crew's website would allow for a "wish-list". :)

What are your thoughts on this email? Have you received one recently? Do you think it will prompt customers' to purchase their shopping cart items? :)

  1. It is an interesting strategy; I received a similar email today from James Perse BUT they also gave me a code for free overnight shipping good for one time use through tonight only- which I thought was super clever and a nice little bribe!

  2. I have gotten these from Victorias Secret and Land of Nod (kids!) and LoN also will include free shipping occasionally on items in your cart which is a nice bonus.

  3. I would love a wish list. I forget about items I'm waiting to go on sale all the time. Or maybe I just fall out of love with them.

  4. Creepy bastards. It's like big brother is watching over our shoulders with one hand reaching for my wallet...

  5. I have stuff in my cart and haven't received this email (yet). I've receive this kind of email from Pottery Barn all the time.

I would LOVE to have wish list available in my account. Anthropologie makes shopping easier with their wish lists.

  6. If only I could shoot back a message that says "You forgot to give me free shipping" That way I would be less likely to leave things in my cart after the shipping was calculated. :-)

  7. LOFT does this too! It really is a clever tactic. Agree with others that a WISHLIST would be fantastic. I pretty much use my shopping cart as my wishlist, and every now and then j.crew dumps all my stuff. So very frustrating!

  8. I love the free shipping bribe. Sometimes I'm on the fence about items and that could be the little push I need.

  9. I have never gotten one of these from JC, but I do get them from the Loft quite often. As AppGal said, I use my JC cart as my wish list and it is a pain when they dump everything. I agree that free shipping with one of these emails would be very clever - might even make my purchase some of my cart! :)

YES, PLEASE, Jcrew, give us a wishlist option!!!! WHY on earth do they not have this? How can it be bad for them?

    TeriLynn13, I love it!
