J.Crew Email: Shop SUMMER SALE (plus, FREE SHIPPING ends today)

"Thanks!" to Marietta, who shared with us another email J.Crew sent this morning.

They are reminding us about their offer for free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code BEACH. This offer expires today.

As many of you have mentioned in other posts today, a lot of new arrivals already made it to the sale section this morning. It feels like it might be time for another percent off sale, doesn't it? ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this latest free shipping offer before it ends? If so, what are you going to get? Do you think the Sale section will have another "percent off sale" soon? :)

  1. I will not be ordering with this offer. I've still got my previous orders coming this week so I'm restraining my self. ;-)
Glad to see some new mark downs though!

  2. off topic, but just needing help from fellow J. Crew shoppers.. :)

I recently purchased the Ares sandals (leather). I love them! But I need some advice on how to best take care of them. Any tips, tricks or good leather cleaner/conditioner?

    Thanks

  3. Any suggestions for the Playa dress? Sizing, fit, length?

  4. Hmmm, I sense a final sale coming :(

  5. Picked up some decent basics- the linen trousers, a white slim shirt, 3" chino shorts, and the wynchmere studded flip flops in pale gold to put me in the free shipping category. all good summer pieces but obviously nothing collection-y or trendy. nothing really striking my fancy as far as summer sale goes, but i'm curious about the playa dress fit as well.

  6. well now that the encrusted highland tunic is marked down to $560 i may bite! haha. it looks vaguely...medieval. like a snazzy hairshirt, or something. well, most sizes are gone so clearly ladies are loving it. :P

has anyone tried the tasca zip cardis? i wonder if these are the butt hugging type (like the featherweight cardis) or if they would skim the bottom. i have a bubble butt that does not need grabbing!

  7. I just don't understand why j.crew won't do what other retailers do...have 2 sale sections on the site at all times, one regular sale and one final sale. LOFT does it and many others do, too. Then you don't make customers like us annoyed with final sale nonsense :)

  8. I don't really find free shipping off $150 all that generous, how about just free shipping? :)

  9. I am really surprised how fast some of these items get marked down lately! wow! I did buy the lower priced seaside madras shirt and a few more victoria ruffle tissue camis - love them! I'm sure a 20% off promo will come tomorrow since I bit, but I'm tired of stalking pop-backs and was happy with the lower prices.

  10. At this rate, I wouldn't purchase anything at FP. For example, the tissue folded bows tank (26978) debuted on the web on 5/20, and it was marked down today - that's not even a month! JC is proving with this twice-monthly rollouts that a) something will always be headed to sale and b) there will always be something new right around the corner (that will probably also go to sale quickly). Not exactly training me to purchase at FP.

  11. I think it's a good thing that stuff heads to sale so quickly. I won't be trained to buy FP in any event, and don't see how some would want to be.

I picked up a few things to try out before dreaded final sale comes back. They were marked down a few times already, so are cheap anyway and I don't think I'll be missing out on an additional price cut on them.

  12. The sale priced madras shirt is tempting, but it wasn't as pretty IRL as I'd anticipated so that dampened my enthusiasm a bit. I already have a ridiculous number of shirts anyway...

  13. I hope final sale does not come back. That will make it very easy NOT to shop. I totally avoided it the last time and I felt great about it! I do hope they continue with having regular sales where items can be returned. When the dreaded Final Sale has appeared recently I just don't check the site at all and stay far away!

  14. Jeanne,

I did not like the looks of the madras online and when I saw it in person this weekend it confirmed the dullness of the colors to me. Just not to my liking either. I own a lot of madras from JCrew over the years but this is the first time I have never bought any of it.

  15. I feel an extra20 coming on so I shall wait it out. But I continue to be peeved at the high min required for free shipping. Most retailers who require a minimum only state $50 min. Now that would be reasonable.

I wish I could quit JC. But I know resistance is futile!

  16. Heh, I am just getting today the third package from last week's haul when it was free ship *and* 20% off, so I won't be partaking - plus there's nothing else I want - lucked out and got the fall/winter items I'd kept an eye on last week. J.Crew's summer offerings rarely inspire me - I am so much more about their fall & winter clothes.

  17. Any thoughts on the embroidered Zafrina skirt?

  18. I stopped by my b&m today and several items that are on sale online are not on sale in the stores. Plus, some items are more marked down online. I did pick up the chambray nora pant - love these! I tucked the tie into the pants to make it a little flatter. I also picked up a $5 headband and the fiore cardi in navy. There were other things I'd like, but I leave for Disney on Sunday so I had to show some restraint. Having not been in my b&m for 3 weeks, I was surprised at how few new items I saw. Several new dresses and some sweaters. Oh, one dress was a sweatshirt dress - it's too hot here to think about a sweatshirt. The sale held lots of tees, and a few skirts, sweaters, button ups, dresses, and pants. Wow, so many tees! They really need to learn from this.

  19. I agree with previous posters, the 150$ rate is too high, for me to purchase it would need to be just free ship no min. I can't count the number of times I wanted to buy but didn't need 150$ worth. I won't shop final sale at all. Too many items are odd fitting to take the risk on that!

  21. OtherWhitney: When I tried it on, I had to size down. I normally wear a size small/4 in skirts, but tried on an xs and it was perfect. A very cute skirt if it's your style and a good deal at the sale price!

  22. I rebought the v-neck cardigan which I ordered several days ago when it was $99.... now $69.99... J.Crew does not do price adjustments on sale items, correct? I figure I'd just return the full-priced one once I receive it in the mail.

I also bought the Jackie and matching shell in dark charcoal... my third matching set and I love them.

Also bought black Minnies in size 0 petite... bought 00 petite last time and they were NOT flattering...

  23. I got a couple things during the last promo and of course, they have been marked down further. I think I might return one of the items and repurchase it since I haven't worn it but it is such a pain sometimes. I think I will sit this promo out. Hopefully, final sale will not make a return anytime soon.

  24. I wanted to pull the trigger and purchase some tees and a sweater w/free ship, but I didn't actually "need" the items AND they did not total $150 so I just decided to wait. On another note, I went to my B&M in (Easton) and saw the Wildcat Ombre Pencil Skirt which I absolutely LOVED, but again I don't really NEED another skirt (even one as beautiful as this one) since it is summer and when I am off for the summer I live in J Crew 3" chino shorts and either tees or those wonderful silk tops! Keeping my fingers crossed for a 20% off sale. :)

  25. yep, the free ship at $150 min is not so great... living in canada i HATE returns and unless it's a smoking deal as in free ship plus 20% off i ain't drinking it...

OT, lands end has additional mark downs (up to 40% off) and AE outfitters has 20% off clearance ($100 min. free ship all the time, plus you can return anything anytime)...and did i mention i LOVE their website's functionality? sorry for sounding like a broken record...

  26. Elaine,

Resistance is becoming easier with the higher miminim for free shipping at JCrew. I buy and return too much I realize when the minimum for free ship is $150 and it is becoming too time consuming for all the returns with my super busy life!

Boden had 30% off and free ship no minimum this week and I bought several items. Love that free ship no minimum.

Only 1 JCrew item I want so will be skipping this promo.
