J.Crew Sale. New styles. In-stores and online.

"Thanks!" to Hexicon and Kathy T. who shared with us J.Crew's latest email announcing new styles to the final sale (online and in-stores).

With this announcement and some stores carrying the additional 40% off final sale (refer to the "J.Crew Stores: 40% Off Final Sale Is Back {fabulous!}" post,) it looks like I will be heading out to a local J.Crew this weekend. ;)

Are you excited about the additional styles to the final sale? Are you planning a visit to your local store? Do you think the online "final sale" (where all sales are final) is going to be permanent from now on?

  1. I know stores have extra 40% off sale right now--can we get this at home by calling in order??

    ReplyDelete
  2. Hi Mic5! "Maybe" is the answer. :) It just depends on who is your customer service rep on the phone- some will honor the 40% off and some will not. :)

  3. I don't see anything new online....I saw things yesterday though....

    ReplyDelete
  4. I see some new stuff online but without the 40%, I feel like I am being duped. I dont feel that we should have to rely on the mercy of cs to get the deals that are being offered openly in stores.

If they were a few dollar differences I would let it go. But when they add up to several hundred dollars, I dont shop.

  5. The men seem to have gotten a VERY SMALL update... =(

    ReplyDelete
  6. the mens has been updated, but a lot of the pictures are just missing.. so you're shopping blindly unless you've been to the store.

  7. Ok ladies, here is my deal of the week: The Mossimo brand at Target has a tee on sale for $5.00 that looks exactly like the J Crew Perfect fit scoop neck tee for $25. There is either v neck or crew neck (no scoop) but they are actually really nice. I bought 5 and would have bought more if they had more colors in my size. Its def worth a look!

  8. My store claims to not have that much in the Final Sale section, and they really don't have that many other markdowns, either (so the SA says)...I probably won't go...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thanks for the deal MustHaveJcrew!
J's prices are expensive. I went to my store to find a tee on final sale for $20! That was with the 40% off:(
I started to think, "I'm paying for quality", but then realized...it's a T shirt!
    Come on Jcrew!

  10. i called in 2 weeks ago when the store were doing 40% off, and was told i could have that applied to an order i had placed the day before online, but the credit never showed up on my account. so i emailed yesterday and actually received a response today, which rarely happens anymore, that they would apply the credit. yay! thanks jcrew jennifer, you made my day.

  11. YOU CAN ORDER ONLINE WITH 40% off the SALE prices! RUN--don't WALK! Stores are having the 40% off and if you tell them you were in a store but they were out of couple things you saw online on sale--they will honor it! Not to mention free shipping because you were in a store! Those without B&M--RUN for the phone:)

  12. Rats...I just called, said my store didn't have the sale items I wanted and could I get the 40% off my online sale items. The CS rep put me on hold for an eternity and then came back saying I needed to be in the store and they needed to speak with a store employee. GRRR.

  13. on the phone with CS placing an order...with 40% off! She is awesome, honoring 25% off Ecole jacket and the sale price for the cord skirt! Best experience with JC in a while!

  14. Final Sale is not permanent, never has been. It always lasts long enough for people to start asking if it's permanent, but it never is. This happens every couple of seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  15. emily- the cord skirt is on sale? online or in store? thanks!

  16. just went to the rockefeller center location in nyc and they had lots of sale stock. lots of belle skirts in pink and blue (gray is long gone), some serengeti tops and blue floral tops too, both for $79.00 plus 40% off -- was the most excited for those, but they are just SO boxy in the fit. even in a size zero, they were still like a tent! guess they are on sale for a reason after all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. sorry, make that $79.99 for the serengeti and blue floral tops!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Alexis -- just wanted to thank you for posting & updating the codes on the home page. Very helpful!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Melissa, on another post someone said the skirts were $49.50. The pink belle skirt is also on sale (not the grey or yellow).

Didn't get free shipping with my order, but the SA was so great I wasn't going to push my luck.

Call back and place order again--both times I spoke to CS they called a store and confirmed that it was 40% off sale in store and gave it to me. Don't have to be in store just have them call yours (all store should have the 40% off right now). Good luck!

  21. Looks like I'm heading to a jcrew store to stock up on men's sweaters. Though it may be worth shopping blindly online if I can get an additional 40% off. I feel like I spent the entire summer shopping at jcrews final sale.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Afternoon, all!

Went to my b&m on lunch - they had the high heel flares (faded blue wash) for $79.99, rhubarb and grey fog (sz 0) Belles for $59.99, vintage french terry boatnecks for $39.99, a few ruffle henley tees, lots of summer merch, metallic bow belts, yellow and fuschia beaded flower belts, and about 10 pairs of size 2 summerweight chino bermuda stretch shorts (british khaki) marked down to $19.99 (with the add'l % off they came to like, $12!). All the above listed stuff was an add'l 40% and final sale.

  23. Anyone seen the Seychelles necklace in the store? I would love to get it 40% off. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  24. i called and asksed about the 40% amd the person toldme that the item has to be available at the store for them to honor it? so much inconsistencies. ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  25. A lot of items in the sale section online are missing pictures....I think it means they are actually sold out of those items.

Mic5... FS no longer applied to red phone orders. So it doesnt matter if you were in a store or not. they only way to get that now is through a code.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i know we would all like to know what to expect when we call about discounts... it's always disappointing to be told you can't get the sale price. but, i think this has been mentioned before, maybe inconsistency is better in this case. at least you know there's a chance of getting someone on the phone who's willing to do it! standardization would end up being bad for us all, i believe.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gigiofca: Thanks for the thanks! :) I like having the codes on the upper right hand side too (to make it easier to find). :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sorry, OT, but pink1, I saw the seychelles necklace being sold on ebay, if you're interested. It's starting out at $4.99!

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is so insane - I'm thinking about all the energy and time wasted between us going to the store, calling reps, checking what's in stock at the b&m vs. what's available online...it's so utterly ridiculous! And this can't be cake for the SAs in store either...most of the SAs at the two stores I call either have to go to a separate terminal to look up cat numbers or walk around the store....and this means business lost with those clients waiting in-store for service.

    Completely inefficient on everyone's part...!

    (ok, rant over LOL!)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Blumre--I did order an item that doesn't have a picture...so far it's in stock and confirmed by CS. I'll let you know if that changes!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Just bought a bluish purplely taffeta belle sirt that I thought was $59 but when i got up to the cash register it was $35 with the % off! I have it in grey and love it, will look good with tights inthe fall

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am so annoyed with jcrew right now. Most of the image links are broken on-line in the sale section and now a bunch of the fall stuff is on sale in store but not on line. No stores here in Canada (yet...ever?) so I'm at the mercy of the website and CS agent. I was going to order the velvet ecole jacket but feel like a sucker paying full pop. Maybe it will go on sale next week ;-)
BTW anyone know when jcrew's fiscal quarter ends? I'm going to guess at the end of Sept since most retailers have a January year end. If sales have sucked and the website is costing them huge then expect some great deals in September while they try to get sales up and old inventory out.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks Eddie and Amp for the ebay tip on the necklace!

    ReplyDelete
  34. this is alittle OT, but i really want to get some reviews on the jersey knit pant, has anyone tried it on? or ordered it? i am concerned that it will look terrible on me while it looks adorable on the model.

    ReplyDelete
  35. montrose: 2nd quarter ended August 2, 3rd quarter Nov 2. Mickey said the website is supposed to be stablized sometime during the 3rd quarter...we will see about that one!

  36. I just got back from KOP ... omg did I have a field day!!! My PS is THE BEST ... not only did I get 20% off on all the suiting plus the 20% PS discount, she also let me use my 15% student discount on top. That even included final sale items that had the extra 40% off! I will post a review later of what I saw and tried. KOP is pretty well-stocked, so I will have a lot to say ;)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just FYI there are some finds in particular that I wanted to share in case people wanted to go ahead and call CS:

The merino lady jackets were something like $99.99 less 40%

The bright rhubarb and deep atlantic Belle skirts were $59.99 less 40% The fog and buttercup Belles are not on sale.

The Watercolor floral Madison dress was $79.99 less 40%

Super 120s sleeveless dress was $49.99 less 40%

    ReplyDelete
  38. michelle, I know I'll be eagerly awaiting your review! ;) Funny, the dark fog Belles were on sale at my store ... maybe they marked the wrong ones?

I actually saw an Andrea jacket today (in bright rhubarb) and tried it on. Cute as a button! BUT... I thought that the wool pique already looked kind of fluffy, like it had been tried on too many times (does this make sense?). I think that the color just kind of exacerbated this - to me, it didn't look anything like the one in the September catalog. It looked much brighter!

I also tried on the Felicia coat, and I LOVE the style! (Had to size up, my usual 2 fit, but I knew it wouldn't over a sweater.)But again, the bright rhubarb was much more bright than I expected, and it also looked a bit "fluffy". I would love to own this coat in navy, but not at $285.

    ReplyDelete
  39. silver_lining: weird about the Belles. I specifically asked about them, and that's what my PS told me. Who knows with J.Crew anymore ;) Also, I was just looking at the sale section and noticed that a few of the items I just named were there. I guess I missed that. Sorry for the redundancy ... I was just surprised to see those items in the sale section.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Does anyone here have the merino lady jacket, and if so, what do you think?

I called last night about ordering some sale stuff where the pic was blank. I said I would like to order but to have a note placed on the account that I could return the item if I needed to since I couldn't see a picture of the item I was ordering. The CSR was hesitant and then said, well I could do it as a one-time courtesy...HELLO? One-time courtesy due to your site being messed up? If they want to sell stuff final sale on the website, they should make sure the pic is working, or else don't make it final sale.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's okay, Michelle - I was surprised to see them in the final sale section as well! Same with the high-heel flare jeans - they were a bit too high-waisted for me, and too long even though I was wearing 3" heels. If I had to guess, I'd bet that this style of jean may go down quite a bit in price.

I did order the cashmere argyle short-sleeve tee from the red phone. We'll see if I get it or not - I've got Polyvore outfits based on it! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. silver_lining: what you're saying about the andrea being fluffy makes sense :). when i tried it on in honey glaze it felt more like a sweater to me but i did like it in the honey glaze. the bright rhubarb reminds me of geranium which is really like hot pink irl. when they show it in the catalog it always looks more red too...more appealing than in person. it's too bad because it's such a cute jacket!! :) i wish they would offer some *toned down* reds and oranges in more of their items...i don't care for the super bright pinks and oranges esp. at these prices ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Has anyone tried the Sherpa-lined goosedown puffer jacket? It looks like a cute, casual jacket. I'm wondering what it's like/how it fits. My store only has the vest.

  45. OT: Did I do something or are all the posts super tiny? I'm having a hard time reading them. Thanks:)

    ReplyDelete
  46. michelle: What store did you see the lady merino jacket at? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I saw the merino lady jacket in Seattle, university village, on Monday. The wool was really soft, but the placement of the upper pockets was really awkward. They hit right on my breasts and looked like little pads instead of pockets. If you're really small on top, it probably looks great.

They gave me the fall code 15% plus the student/teacher 15% off.

    ReplyDelete
  48. tammylee: The merino lady was at the King of Prussia store, 610 265 0210. They only had a few of the charcoal left (no ivory), but they had a couple of each size.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anon @ 5:10--I did a Google image search for the items without pics. I ended up ordering the Chateau cardigan which came right up through Google search. I called CS and they confirmed it was in stock...I was also able to find a pic of the luxe Jackie this way too since I didn't remember what it looked like.

    ReplyDelete
  50. michelle and anonymous @ 5:47: Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  51. A lot of the items that don't appear seem to be from last year (at least in the men's). There are some great deals, but I hesitate ordering something I cannot see! Good deal that some of you had them reverse the final sale because of this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You know, if the sale items are 40% off in stores, they should be 40% off on-line and via phone orders. It's the same company and the same merchandise. A lot of the stuff I saw on line this morning is from last winter, which is fine, but come on. Why not offer the extra incentive, and keep it consistent? It's so tiresome to try to track down the most amenable CSR.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't have a b&m anywhere near me. :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. mary, i think JC people have said in articles, etc. that they are not really doing internet promotions/extra discounts right now b/c the site can't handle the traffic.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Talk about being inconsistent. I just called and asked about getting the extra 40% off without calling from a store. The cs wanted me to call froma store to get free shipping and I said I didn't think we got free shipping on sale items. She said we got fs on any item if we called from the store. Wish they'd make up their minds. Anyway, she gave me the 40% plus free shipping (wasn't that nice!) and she did it without calling my b&m! However, she wouldn't give me the 15% and the fs, so I went with the fs (it's about the same cost). So, I'm happy - another pair of cafe capris are on their way (I hope). It really does just depend on who answers the phone there.

I will visit my b&m on Monday and I'm hoping for some good buys. I'd really like another cord skirt and I hope they still have my size. Or maybe the matchstick cords - I love them, too. And, maybe a Jackie. Who knows? :P

    ReplyDelete
  56. Pink1 - I am not sure if anyone else answered you about the Seychelles necklace. I ordered it when it first came out and returned immediately. The beads are HUGE. I am talking gumball size. Much larger than J Crew usually uses in their double strand necklaces. I did not care for it. However, that is just an opinion. Good Luck with whatever you choose. Jenn

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jenn: Thanks for the info! I had no idea it was so big!

    ReplyDelete
  58. thank god i only fit the petite stuff now after all that vanity sizing rubbish. i don't have to bother going into a store and being all upset if it's not on sale online. if it's too expensive, i just won't buy it, turn off the computer and go have some chocolate cake.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Can anyone tell me if the Kelly Jacket runs on the big or small side? I'm usually a size Small but whenever I check the sale section they have either XS's or Mediums. Wondering which one would work out better---any thoughts? Also, is the bright flame more orange in person (much like the Gayle trench ended up being more orange than red) or is it more of a red? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Why JCrew? Why?!

    I can't stop shopping.

In other news, they messed up a delivery of a final sale order I made last week and customer service was amazingly helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  61. anon @7:56: I have the Kelly Jacket in Navy and Bright Flame in Medium, and I usually wear a Small. I don't think there is probably alot of difference between the two, either. I think it depends on if you are normally an XS/S or a S/M, as to whether you size up or down...I have broad shoulders so I tend to size up in jackets, but I think a Small would have been perfect for me in the Kelly, and I wouldn't have been able to wear an XS. The Bright Flame is more Orange than Red.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anyone know when the men's jean section will be on sale? I've been looking for a pair of selvedge jean, but for $150 at JC, no thanks. GAP had one for $54 on sale and I missed it. :(

    ReplyDelete
  63. to musthavejcrew:

How do the Target Mossimo tees fit? What size do you wear in J Crew for tees and what size do you wear for Mossimo? I see that it is a junior fit and since I don't live near a Target (I'm overseas), I want to order these tees online. Thanks for the tip.

    ReplyDelete
  64. michelle: Did you PS match up any outfits that you really, really liked? I am anxious to hear (no b&m store near me so I live vicariously).

    ReplyDelete
  65. About the Kelly jacket...

I'd get the xs. I have the M and wear a 6 or 8 in tops at J Crew (more 6s this season, the vanity sizing seems to be getting even worse). I can easily wear this over a thin sweater. The red colour is definitely red, though orange toned rather than pink toned. I love this one and wear it constantly. It isn't super warm, though, so it's definitely a fall/spring jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hi everyone: Instead of calling and playing roulette with CS, I drove an hour and went to a B&M. Yes I have problems...:)

But I got great deals! I bought the cord skirt in honey glaze on promotional price, cropped matchsticks in the dark indigo (I tried them on and am going to use them to tuck into riding boots - I think they are just long enough!), a market tee (it has a paint tube on the front, I can't find it online), and a pink favorite tank for - drum roll please - 80 dollars! I'm so excited. I got the additional 40% off on everything but the skirt, and then my student discount.

I gotta stop buying stuff! But it's so hard!

    ReplyDelete
  67. kater: congrats on the good buys! I am hoping to also get the cord skirt in honey glaze. I just can't get to my store until Monday. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's still there, or at least online. :) And, it is SO much more fun in the store, although it's also easier to spend more money. But, you did great!

    ReplyDelete
  68. thanks math teacher! I hope you can get the cord skirt in honey glaze too! It's so cute, and I think it will look great with brown boots...

I used to be better about spending in the stores, and would do more damage online. Now that you all have convinced me the stores are cheaper though, I'm all about doing it in IRL!

    ReplyDelete
  69. anon 8:35: I think the tees fit true to size. I purchased a M in each of them and they fit good. They are form fitting but so is the one on J Crew. I usually wear between a small/med in J Crew tees. Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  70. kater: Sometimes it's hard for me to leave something in the store if I've tried it on and absolutely love it. I held strong the last time, though, and only bought the denim pencil skirt. I do already have the cord skirt in brown, but I'd love the honey glaze and the gray (whatever name they gave it). I really want the Lydia, especially after seeing it on, but I refuse to spend that much on a blouse that I'm only going to wear under things. :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. math teacher: I tried the lydia on, and despite my misgivings, I loved it too! I agree though, 88 is a lot to pay for something you're going to wear as a layering piece. which is why I also resisted...:)

    ReplyDelete
  72. kater: guess we'll both be going for the Lydia once it goes on sale. :) Did you try it on with the Jackie? I loved that combination with the matchstick cords! Oh, boy, was that outfit hard to leave behind. I felt so stylish in those pieces. :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I called CS about two orders. The first was for a cord skirt that I placed on Saturday. He asked for my local store and then called and verified that is was $49.50, then issues a credit to my card. Then I asked for 40% off the sale purchase I made this morning online (belle skirt in rhubarb, tank for my toddler, and an Avery cardigan in sweet papaya---kind of nervous about that item, I have the avery in the pink color and hope this sweet papaya is not too orangey). He laughed and said he would add it to his list to issue the credit once it shipped. He said he has been fielding calls about it all day. He would not, however, give me credit on the belle skirt in the rhubarb color. He said it is not final sale. I noticed that when I got the order confirmation the itemized list for each item *except* the belle skirt noted it was a final sale. So if I don't like it I will just print out that e-mail and return it to the store.

My dream cardi in eggplant should arrive tomorrow. Once I have it in hand I will cancel the back-up order CS made after they said they had no idea what was going on with the original order. The cord skirt, denim pencil skirt, and Jacinda jacket are scheduled to arrive next week. I still have a belle skirt in grey on backorder, but I will know whether to keep it active or cancel based on how the one I ordered today fits.

MY husband has agreed to return the items I don't want---but he wants me to stop shopping at J.Crew. He said it is wrong that the the internet prices are so out of step with the B&M prices. He also does not like the associates at our B&M; same as me, he thinks they are kind of rude---which is why he does the returns for me so I don't have to get all flustered and embarrassed---he has thicker skin then me!.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jacquelyn - Your husband must be a prince. I can not imagine what my DH would say if I asked him to return something for me. However, I am sure that Alexis would NOT want it printed here!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I seriously have to stop shopping online. UPS surely thinks I am CRAZY. Glad to have this blog so I don't feel alone!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Anonymous @ 10:26 pm, I know what you mean about UPS. The FedEx guy knows me well and the Canada Post woman as well. I'm sure by December we'll be on a first name basis.

I'm trying to decide if I should order the Fair Isle sweater vest. It looks very Ralph Lauren to me. That being said I do like the look. It is the photo in this post.

    Comments?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Don't have a local store. It is really not fair for online shoppers, while the local stores offer extra 40% off, online customers get no discount plus the shipping fee. I'm going to my local BR store for the $30 off $100 tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just called about the additional 40% off and the lady said she needed to talk to someone from the store about it. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow and see if I get a different person...

    Question:
Since jcrew/catalog only final sale items aren't sold in stores are they eligiable for the 40% off as well? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  79. hey jcrew guy: I like the fair isle ok, but think the color is really muted. I would like it a little better if it were brighter.

Following the bright line, I love the lambswool haven argyle vest with all the different colors! If my DF was more fashionable, I would totally buy this for him.

    ReplyDelete
  80. jcrewjunkie: Actually she put together a nice combination of the abstract rose print dress and persimmon tartine cardi, but I just didn't like the colors on me. The abstract rose looked really different to me in person than on the web. The light part is more beige and the roses are orange and like a fleshy color. And the deep persimmon tartine made me look jaundiced or something. But I thought that on the right person, that combo would be really cute.

I was looking mostly for suits and work type stuff, so she gave me lots of sweaters and suiting pieces and shells. Lots of pretty colors this season, but a lot of the designs just didn't work for me. I am working on a review of several things I tried :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. jcrewguyincanada: are you looking for a vest that compliments some existing items or are you just looking for a cool vest? I like one in your avatar, but it doesn't WoW me, you know? And I'm not sure if it strikes me as "classic"...

I love this vest, but my DH balked at it. I actually thought about getting it for me LOL! I think the fit would be very flattering for a guy and under a blazer (like in the July? catalog)...just classic. The buttons add a little "old school" pizzazz, but that's just my opinion! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. oops! Would help if I actually linked what I'm talking about LOL!

  83. J Crew guy, I love the vest, very Brideshead, All Creatures Great and Small.

I get my packages delivered to work, which is all girls, so you know there's a fashion show fairly regularly. As soon as a delivery guy comes through the door, someone's hollering my name! Today's delivery wasn't for me though - one of the other girls got a stripper pole! And then had to take it home on the bus.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ladies, thanks so much for your feedback on the vest. I tend to go with navy and charcoal wool pants for work, or chinos, so based on your feedback I think I might just try the vest. A braver than my usual solid/stripes or argyle. The Brideshead comment really helped me chelsea. Like Mad Men another great choice for inspiration.

  85. OK - it's official - I have spent too much.

I got all of the following with 30% off (FALL code + student):

1.Dream tie sweater in eggplant and heather silver

Had to order down from M to S to get it to fit. This will look great with tees, serengeti tank, or hammered silk tank

    2.Jackie in regal purple

To wear over the floral Lydia

    3.Floral Lydia

Had to downsize to XS and I normally wear a 2/4 or Small in camis/tanks. I'm going to wear this with the Jackie and the Ecole jacket. I think it's too much ruffle for me to pair with the Tartine.

    4.Ivory Lydia

Looks great with Ecole or any Jackie. The Lydias are pricey as a layering piece...so I'm not sure if I'll keep.

5.Ecole velvet in navy (for $90 with promo price, FALL, and student dicsount!)

LOVE this jacket! So stunning and versatile!!!

6.Serengeti tank (red phone honored 40%)

Great price - looks good with heather silver dream tie cardigan or with maple Jackie - or with my Ecole.

I seriously can't buy anything else. No more final sale, no more fall clothes.

  86. argyle: your choices sound lovely! Man, I wonder if my kids are going to have such stylish teachers :)!

jcrewguyincanada: great decision...if the Brideshead look is what you are going for, that is definitely the vest! (BTW, did you know they are remaking this into a movie?)

  87. silver_lining: I also liked the Felicia coat! The two fit just right but like you said, I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater underneath. I thought the next size up, though, was too baggy looking on me, the shoulder seams didn't line up. I love the jacket, though, so I'm not sure what I'll do!! Good thing it's still summer so I have time to think about it. :)

  88. I know the site can't handle the traffic right now, but CS should accept the discount by phone. Even still, in the past, internet discounts have been less (and fewer) than in-store promotions.

  90. I was able to use the 40% off by calling in. I opened the phone call asking if she'd match the price. She said yes and she'd just have to call the store to verify. I placed the order and I don't know that she ever called them. I had mentioned something specific about my experience in the store --so maybe that was enough for her. I didn't try a coupon code for free shipping. I wasn't in the mood to potentially hear a no, plus my order of 5 items only came to $138 incl s/h and that included a cashmere tee.

Interestingly she was in Colorado. I assumed there was one call center in Virginia, where the packages originate, but that's not the case. VA is the warehouse and call centers are 'all over,' according to this rep. She could have been working from her home for all I know. The fact that they aren't in VA is very interesting to me because when they check on orders it means they can't walk over and do it. They are at the mercy of whatever the warehouse tells them when they check for us.

  91. Gigi: wonder if you got the same person I had yesterday. She was in Colorado and was awesomeing, honoring 40% as well.

Does anyone know how to reach specific CS reps? I really like a few that I have talked to and tried asking for one the other day. The person I was talking to said CSRs didn't have direct extensions and they couldn't find them. Just wondered...I'd like to establish a relationship.

  92. Emily: Sometimes you can just ask for a specific rep by name (and last name initial). Also, sometimes the rep (especially if its a manager) can give you their extension number (although you still have to call their regular customer line first, so its not a direct extension number, more like an employee number they can find the CSR with). :)

  94. silver_lining: Wow! How does the seller manage to sell it at such a steep discount so early? It just came out ...

Talk about being inconsistent. I just called and asked about getting the extra 40% off without calling from a store. The cs wanted me to call froma store to get free shipping and I said I didn't think we got free shipping on sale items. She said we got fs on any item if we called from the store. Wish they'd make up their minds.

You probably got a new CS (I think they're hiring like crazy because of the recent hold times). Shipping from the stores is free on full-price items only. Sale items still have a shipping charge. Then again, it probably depends on who you talk to and how knowledgeable they are. It's a real crapshoot now if they're hiring a ton of new people.

I AM LAUGHING hysterically right now! I feel pathetic--how bad is it to be embarrassed to see the UPS man or FedEx--I hide when I see them coming:) This is a sure sign I need to hit the next "shoppers anonymous" group.

CRAZY inconsistent--the guy I got yesterday just said--you'll gt free shipping. Then I also get it all the time by asking.
