Who are you?
I am in my early 30's and love J.Crew. However, I do have a "day job" so maintaining the JCA blog is (unfortunately) not my primary occupation.

Are you affiliated with J.Crew?
I have no relationship to J.Crew- absolutely nothing that ties me to them except my love for their clothes. I am just a fan of the firm. In fact, I have never revealed myself. I always wonder if they know who I am... ;) I should add that I also do not have any formal relationship to fashion- not even working for a retailer. I just have a love for clothes, which I think a lot of people can relate to. I can blame my mother for that- she use to buy me tons of clothes when I was a child (because she didn't have much when she was a child).
What percentage of your wardrobe is J.Crew?
I think about 90-95% of my closet is J.Crew. And when it comes to shoes- that number is higher. It's too bad that their shoes are terribly uncomfortable- but they are oh-so-cute!
If you had to pick one, what was the best year in J.Crew style since the retailer's inception?
I think 2007 was "the year" to buy from J.Crew. There are lots of examples of why 2007 was a great year, like their jackets and winter coats. J.Crew came out with Bella Jacket and Bella Coat that had the most wonderful standing collar that made anyone look instantly fabulous. I have been saving my J.Crew catalogs and noticed that my 2007 catalogs are filled with "tabs" on items I am lusting after, while the later catalogs have far fewer tabs. Although don't get me wrong, I still manage to buy a lot lovelies from J.Crew since 2007! ;)

Alexis,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how else to contact you. I think you are the "Queen" of J Crew Aficionadas, thus my question directed to you.
Is there a place to post something that I would like to buy? Especially some vintage tees? I REALLY need the J Crew Women textured knits Candy tee – Light Blade. I welcome your comments and telling me how to contact you, if this is inappropriate. Thank you. Karen
Karen- You can post your request in this week's looking to find thread. The thread is posted every Sunday at 9p PST. Some people post every week until they find what they want.
ReplyDeleteHi Alexis,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. I work at a start-up company in Las Vegas (not a competitor to jcrew). I'm trying to find out more of how they produce their customer loyalty plans & email marketing. Do they do it inhouse or agency? I really like their approach and would love to use the same agency. don't know if you have any connections there or perhaps might know?
Thanks!
Hi Alexis,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Maggie Matear and I'm a doctoral candidate at Queen's University in Canada. I'm studying what makes on-line communities like JCA thrive and prosper.
Would you allow me to post a survey for your members? It is completely anonymous and the data will ONLY be used for my thesis, and NOT for any commercial purposes. I am bound by the Research Ethics Code at Queen's University on this. Specifically, I'm looking at how community managers can encourage positive, community-oriented behaviours that will promote loyalty and commitment. I'd be happy to share the results of my findings with you (I'm studying several communities).
I would be very grateful for your help. The discussions on your forum speak to a level of member engagement that seems to support some of my theories. You can actually see the survey here http://queensbusiness.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0HAetyNGJ5UriGU if you would like to make sure that everything is "above board".
Thank you very much for your consideration. Could you please get back to me at
mmatear@business.queensu.ca?
Take care,
Maggie
