  2. YAY! Another code...now if they would just keep the No Minimum codes like SHOP coming...at least $100 isn't as bad as $175 minimum. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  3. well i finally placed my first order online since the upgrade one month ago. i order the henley slub tee because it's on sale and it's not available in stores, only from the catalog/web. the code SHOP worked and at the end of the order i received a generated confirmation number.

i did call j crew cs while i was ordering just to make sure there aren't any glitches along the way. the cs told me that in terms of shipping out merchandise, they are about two days behind their regular schedule, so the items will probably arrive next wednesday the earliest.

  4. I have to say that I placed an order last week on Monday, and by Wednesday it was on my doorstep! Yay!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I received my 30% off order I placed last Sat yesterday! I am so happy because I LOVE all my items. I bought the green piper (LOVE LOVE LOVE IT) the wild peony Amelia (love it but should have ordered next size up). AND I bought the plat linen shorts for $40 something!!!

I've had a great week with J Crew. All my CS has been good and I received my package. My only complaint now is my sale page still says the %30 off so I feel that they should honor it. I want more piper tanks, do you think they would if I call?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Alexis, you are awesome! I can't believe given how busy you've been, what with the move and your conference, that you still found time to post new material.

    ReplyDelete
  7. musthavejcrew: which pair of linen shorts did you purchase? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  8. Anonymous 8:03: I Purchased the 91052 Platinum linen bermuda for $41.99 but I just checked and they sold out.

    ReplyDelete
  9. FFM: I completely agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I placed an order over the phone yesterday and was given, albeit reluctantly, the additional 40% off. When I asked about free shipping with the SHOP code the CS told me that it was sent to people who had a regular store turn women only and was I one of those people? She also told me that the 40% off in stores was so that the merchandise could move so she allowed the extra %off only "this one time". I have to agree with others that pricing should be consistent esp. for those of us who don't have a store nearby. Of course, this is an old story ;)

    ReplyDelete
  11. ladies, need some help. does anyone have the avery cross-back silk dress? i don't think they still sell it at jcrew but i'm looking at it on ebay. any opinions on the fit? thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. also, wanted to let you know if this applies to anyone else... they did honor the extra 30% off code from last week that was "accidentally" posted on the sale page, and billed me correctly!

    ReplyDelete
  13. marissa, thats an interesting questions. Wow. I wonder why theyw ould send out a code to people -- notice not men who would be deprived, but women too-- if a store turned women only. Odd.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So I got a really fabulous e-mail from my PS yesterday. I showed her the polyvore site when I ordered the domino skirt and I had made an outfit for it. She now uses the site all the time to help her clients piece together outfits! She said it was so helpful. I nearly jumped out of my skin at the fact that I was actually able to help a jcrew employee sell clothes. I asked to see her outfits but I think she had already left work when I sent the e-mail. I hope I hear back today. Especially since I charged her with trying to hunt down the necklace!

    ReplyDelete
  15. The SHOP code worked for me last night, I purchased full price items, maybe that makes a difference.

The code only works on 1 order, I tried to use it again today and it did not work.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Blumre - what's your polyvore name? I"d love to see your outfits.

BTW...anyone know if 40% still working on phoned in orders? I'm thinking about replacing my whole wardrobe! (Not really, but definitely ordering some more)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Emily: It is blumre, the same as it is for this site :)

Emily it is worth a shot! Try if not there is the 20% off card being offered in stores. That is still a significant discount.

What are you hoping to buy?

    ReplyDelete
  18. blumre: You have probably already mentioned this, but is there any way I can get in contact with a PS without an appointment? I would just like to have a PS to contact directly about items and questions. I don't actually need to meet with one to set me up with clothes. It would be extremely helpful into the school year to have someone to contact at a store since I won't be able to get out to a b&m.

OT, so my phone order has yet to ship yet. I'm a little worried because I'm moving out of my apartment next weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Aly: You could always call a store if you want a PS in a store. Kenny in the Columbus circle in NYC store is fantastic. But you could also call into CS and ask to speak with a personal shopper. I bet they could connect you right to one. They have PSs who work from the call center and are not in stores but they also have ones in stores.

Also call in and check on your order explain your situation.

    ReplyDelete
  20. alexis: Hope all is going well with your convention. Did you have to speak in front of your peers yet?

blumre: Let us know when you hear back from your PS.

musthavejcrew: What are you going to wear your platinum shorts with? I got them as well. :)

anon @ 9:53: The code SHOP worked for me again this a.m. I used it yesterday as well.

ffm: I got THE purse...LOVE it!! The color is perfect and will go with sooo much! Thank you for your help in finding it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. jcrewjunkie: I know I bet we would all love to see her creations! I bet it would give us so many outfit ideas. I also bet it would be horrible for my wallet. I mean really, just horrible!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I posted this under another topic, but has anyone noticed this from J Crew: "Did you know we offer...We'll Find it For You: Call any store or the catalog, tell us what you're looking for and we'll get back to you within 48 hours. Standard shipping's on us." Do you guys think it only applies to full-priced items?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, Aly: full price only! :( Sorry. Jcrew like shipping sale items for free.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks, Blumre. I want to get some cashmere shells, shift pique dress (football season must!!), the Alessandra peep toe flats, etc.

Lord my husband is going to kill me!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Emily! He will not kill you. Just remind him if he likes have a well dressed wife that everyone is jealous of he will have to be OK with you spending a little money. Tell him being hot and looking good do not come for free. Does he complain when you pay for the gym membership? Or buy healthy green veggies? Well this is the same thing. Also remind him that when you shop it puts you in a great mood and will therefore improve his quality of life :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Does anyone remember the suede flats from last season they have a little leather detail on the front (which was brown). They came in forest green (which I have) red, black, brown and I think purple too. If you remember the name let me know. I wanted to use them in a polyvore outfit and I cant remember them :(

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ha, ha! I love it Blumre! He shouldn't complain! I do spend a lot of time at the gym (i'm training for a half marathon) and he has a membership he doesn't even use!

Getting ready to call in another order!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Emily go with the order. I'm still buzzing from the order I placed yesterday. I used my 20% off the next order and my gift cards. I saved $200. And free express shipping too!

But it did feel strange ordering two merino sweaters, wool pants and a wool tie when it was so hot and humid out yesterday. But the pants are wait listed already, too popular so I won't get them for a month or so. But the tie and sweaters will do till it arrives. And I will most likely do more shopping before then.

I'm going to get a friend who's going to Vegas to bring me a tartan shirt in navy from the store there. No shipping and no tax, it works for me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. jcrewguyincandada: I thought you would want to know. The new mens dress shirts (not the thomas mason ones, the ones for $75) are SO nice! They are wonderfully lightweight and still crisp. My boyfriend was drooling over them when we were in the store. His birthday is at the end of the month and while I am already getting him a ton of stuff... I might spring for one of those after I saw how much he liked it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hello everyone: Vacation is over and I am returning to my daily J.Crew routine. I just added Polyvore to it. It is so much fun - my first set was done by my 9yr old daughter :) The Andrea jacket didn't fit me and I am thinking about Lucille now. And a pair of shoes, and few other items. I also ordered the lemon drop double strand flower necklace over the phone but it didn't ship. Everything else arrived already but the necklace. The CS person over the phone could't tell me why it didn't ship because they show these in stock. She placed another order for me so we'll see. After the giraffe necklace fiasco I am expecting the worse :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Y'all are enabling my shopping addiction!

Still talking with CSR now, who is adjusting my total with 40%. Several items are out of stock but getting two cashmere shells, pique shift dress, and Chessy jacket.

Super exicted! The allessandra peep-toes are sold out which makes me sad, but probably for the best. I usually don't look good in their flats.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Aficionadas, just placed an order and CSR Chris told me that TOTEBAG is not valid, expiring 7/27.

    ReplyDelete
  33. blumre, you're enabling my addition. The J.crew washed shirts are my favorite. The fit is perfect. They are the only shirts I buy now as the other brands just don't match them.

So I will definitely get her to pick up the tartan in navy. I better slow down after this so I can buy when the new clothing comes out in October and November. I already have my eye on the striped double cloth scarf in the new catalog. It's on the second last page and ne day it'll be mine.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Aly: J.Crew did do a find it for me (and they found it!) on a sale item (sale color of the Kate dress). They said I wouldn't be charged shipping but I was. I called and was told shipping is only free on full priced items. For once I did not argue it because I was thrilled to get the dress and it was a good deal. Also, they offered to do the find it now, I didn't ask. So I don't know if they always do it for sale items.

    ReplyDelete
  35. aly: Based on my experience, it works for sale items too, depending again on which CS rep you get.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Emily, Chris is wrong about the coupon code. After you played the crew cut "set for school", if you click the left bottom conner(if you can see....), it will lead you to a page with free shipping code of "TOTEBAG". On that page you will see
"and just for playing...enjoy free shipping along with a 1 year
subscription to Cookie Magazine* with any crewcuts order of
$100** or more. enter code TOTEBAG at checkout..."
    and
"**Free shipping offer expires at 11:59 pm ET on 8/14/2008. This offer is valid on Internet orders shipped via Regular Shipping (4 to 7 business days) to US addresses only. Offer is not valid on telephone orders. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion. Previous purchases are not eligible for this discount. Merchandise total must be $100 before shipping, handling and taxes are added."

I believe this code is new today since there was one named "SCHOOL" yesterday. I also not sure if it is good for non-crewcut stuff. However I used code "SCHOOL" yesterday for women's clothes via phone order and it worked.

    Sorry for this long comment.

    ReplyDelete
  37. AHHHH I just ordered the Liberty Fabric shirt (93649). They only had a 4 left or I would have also ordered a 6. I got the 40% off plus 15% off and free shipping! I also bought a regular Fitted long sleeve v-neck t in the shell color.

    I ADORE JCREW!

I am so cut off for the rest of the week though.

This week already I have bought:
    City-fit cafe capris,
    the beaded tee
    linen-silk beach sweater
    overdyed cropped jeans
    a necklace (from ebay though)
    and a tee

OH MAN I AM SO CUT OFF. You people have a horrible affect on my wallet.

    ReplyDelete
  38. blumre: Bad for my wallet or not I hope you share her info. LOL. Feeling sort of crabby towards DH at the moment so I am in the mood to shop.

sky: The Lucille is so gorgeous. Both Slastena and I have it and love it. The Spicy Mustard color is TDF in my opinion. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jcrewjunkie: she comes on at 2 p.m. so I will hopefully have some info for everyone then if she says she is o.k. with it. I bet she would be though. It will totally up their sales.

    ReplyDelete
  40. how are you guys getting 40% off? did i miss something?

    ReplyDelete
  41. jcrewjunkie: Is Lucille true to size? I really like it becuse it looks so versatile. I agree, the color is beatiful. Is it warm?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jcrewjunkie, isn't it funny how shopping can somehow soothe the crankies. During my marriage to the starter husband I did an insane amount of shopping.

Speaking of which--Mr.Hex and I do a yours, mine, and ours $$ arrangement, so it's really no business of his what I spend my own money on, yet he still mananges to scoff at my addiction. ("So, let me see, you had to *spend* money to *save* money . . ." Then he will go drop way more $$ at Brooks and justify himself by saying "Mens' suits just cost more")

Thanks to the sale I've placed 8 orders in the last month and have managed to get to the back porch before he did on all but one of them. Then I toss the boxes in my walk-in closet and put them in the recycle when he's not around. The other day we heard a tremendous crash from upstairs--turned out the cat had gotten in my closet and knocked over the pyramid of boxes. The hubby rolled his eyes but knew better than to say anything.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hexicon: Congrats on your eight orders! I can't help but let out a big guffaw reading your post. I sneak J.Crew packages around my husband too, and would pray he's not home when UPS comes a-knocking. My J.crew boxes are flattened and stacked inside a camouflage box (Maclaren carseat) in the basement, and thank God we don't have a cat!

It's my own money and he would excitedly ask me to model the clothes for him if they arrive when he happens to be home -- but I suspect some eye-rolling may have taken place when I'm not looking!

    ReplyDelete
  44. sky: I just bought the lucille yesterday and find it to run big. I'm usually a 4p and got this in a 0. A;so, I would call it a midweight jacket. It's not as heavy or as bulky as it appears in all the photos.

It is gorgeous and my mom saw it today her reaction was this "TRES CHIC! WOW" :) It's a keeper!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Weab: Thanks for the sizing info on Lucille. The stores around me don't have it so I have to order it from the catalog. I am glad to hear that everybody who got it loves it :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Emily: have you tried on the Alessandra peep toes? Are they very ... peepy? I actually hate peep toes, I like seeing either all my toes or none at all. :) I had my eye on the Alessandra peep-toe heels because the toe opening looked bigger in the picture. I've hesitated, though, because it is FS. Just wanted to see if anyone knew how they looked on?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am so in the boat with you on the "hiding the boxes from husband" game. Sometime I throw garbage in them right away and then it looks like it has to be thrown out or I'll peel off the label altogether and then I just toss it out by the garbage. He really doesn't have time to count the boxes by the garbage. :-)

Sadly, I had maxed out my J.Crew for the month and had to ABSOLUTELY get the Tuesday trench (because you know they are going to run out!), cords (I think they only had one pair left -in my size, what a coincidence!), kelly shirts(in three colors), peep toe shoes, tank tops, oh and a sweater for the husband...all on OUR AMEX! So now he'll see it. Oh well, I diffused by saying that I was lucky to get a nice CS person who gave me a discount on some of the stuff and I didn't want to say no to it . :-)

    *I'm kidding about the cords.

    ReplyDelete
  48. HI-has anyone seen the Academic or University pant online. I've seen it at the b&m but not online. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? They are GORGEOUS!

    ReplyDelete
  49. sky: Just like weab I agree that it is a nice warm coat, but not a bulky coat. I think that I will be able to "up" the warmth factor simply by adding layers. Also, I took the 0 and it fit me perfectly which is odd since the arms on J Crew coats are usually super long on me. I normally wear a 2P (except in the Lexington jacket which I took a 4P in). I am 5'4" and weigh around 100 pounds if that is any help.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I want to cry. The chinos (the city-fit ellie in alpine green) look like waders on me. Was there a world wide flood recently? I am 5'7" and my legs are not that long. Why can't they fit me? Or is J.Crew expecting that we are going to have to build an ark? This is ridiculous.

Their suiting pants in regular fit me perfectly, same with their denim. WTF is up with their chinos?

    ReplyDelete
  51. To give everyone a heads up, I called in earlier to try and apply the free shipping code SHIP to my order from earlier this week, but the CSR told me it has expired.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Blumre: I'm so sorry. I have the same problem as you. I have J Crew denim and suiting pants that fit perfectly, but the chinos just don't work and I'm 5'8.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Aly: do you find that the tall is too long too? They arrive and I am always standing on an extra 2 inches or so of material. It is so frustrating!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Aly: Did you tell him SHIP or SHOP? I believe the free shipping code is SHOP. :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. hexicon-i am dying of laughter reading about your crashing boxes!! I know we've chatted about this before (there are 5 boxes hiding in my closet ready to be snuck out at an opportune moment to the recycling center) but it just is so funny to hear that all you gals are just as crazy as me :)
blumre-you should write a letter to all of our adoring men putting forth your case about why jcrew is good for our r'ship/marriage, etc...somehow mine has yet to see it! And I quote "you got MORE jcrew??????????"

    ReplyDelete
  56. FFM: Oops, I'm so sorry. I meant the code SHOP not SHIP.

blumre: You are completely right. I'm too tall for regular in chinos and too short for tall in chinos. I've given up on buying chinos.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Blumre: how did you get 40% off? Can I stack that over the phone with a free shipping code?

FFM: how did you get an email from Mickey Drexler? my office is dying to get in touch with him to let him know of our Canadian concerns.

Also on a gerneral note - I recieved a partial shipment of an order that I had cancelled. There was no charge to the credit card and the packing slip indicated items that were not there. Any adivce? I just don't want to be charged later for clothes that were not sent and I don't know if I should return the items that I got

    ReplyDelete
  58. Aly: Its just so frustrating. I need chino's for work and they are washable which is great. But it is so frustrating! Where do you buy chinos since jcrew's chinos are a little ridiculous?

    ReplyDelete
  59. yogichick: it depends on the sa rep. so will let you do it, some wont. see what they say. Some wont even let you use the 40% discount.

    ReplyDelete
  60. yogichick: I had a great cs who let me have the 40% (after calling and confirming with my b&m), 15%, plus free shipping with SHOP. You could call and take your chances, or ask for Katelyn. That's who helped me yesterday. When I call in again, I'll probably ask for her again since she was so helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  61. yogichick: I have just received 3 items that I called in a couple of weeks ago, J Crew is still not charging duty and it is getting through customs, with no money owing when UPS comes knocking.
    Big savings there.

I would not return anything right now, the US postal service lost my last return, however, I was able to claim though the Canadian postal service.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Blumre: It's actually kind of funny. I don't really like chinos anywhere else, so I just don't own any. I just wear skirts and suiting pants. For the summer, I can wear dressy bermuda shorts. So, it works out. It's sad that we miss out on chinos. Have you tried BR or Gap? I owned chinos a few years ago from Gap.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Aly: I hate BR's chinos... everything sticks to them. And vineyard vines is too expensive and i dont like the gut of their pants. I usually just get the tall chino's hemmed but that gets expensive... too bad jcrew doesnt hem for free if you buy on sale.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Melanie,
I was going to order the Alessandra peep toes but they were out of the color I wanted. Bummer. I wanted the metallic chocolate! I have pretty average feet, 7.5 with a standard arche, and their flats fit funny on me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Blumre: Let us know what your PS's name is on Polyvore..I would love to see what she put together. Although...that would probably cost me more $$!

    ReplyDelete
  66. emily: they have the metallic chocolate Alessandras in a 7.5 on the website. Don't know if that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  67. jcrewjunkie: I am going to wear my kelly green piper top and my wild berry amelia with my platinum Linen shorts! Can't wait!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. my PS's name on polyvore is jcrewrachel

She said she only had a few outfits up now because I only just told her about it last week. She also told the other personal shoppers about it and they may start using it again soon too.

I ordered the chinos in the tall and I hope they fit! I will scream and throw a tantrum if they dont fit!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yay! I had placed an order over the phone on Sunday using EXTRA30 and I called in since I hadn't gotten a shipping confirmation, but it's actually out for delivery today. The CSR gave me a tracking number and told me it's on its way. I'm so excited for my 5 pocket trouser jeans. By the way, my order history shows no tracking number for the item and the order is only released.

I only wished SHOP still worked because $10 is really expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  70. sorry guys that was a type-o on my part! her name is:
    j.crew rachel

    ReplyDelete
  71. Melissa -- about the avery dress -- I got it two years ago (it's probably still the same cut though?) and went one size down, but should have gone two, it's enormous!

    ReplyDelete
  72. aly: the last 2 times I ordered over the red phone, I haven't gotten a tracking number. But, they've still come in 4 days. I'm not sure what the problem is between the red phone and order info.

    ReplyDelete
  73. OT: Does anyone own the Womens Soul Cal Bootcut Jeans from
republic.co.uk that a lot of people are using in their Polyvore sets? I really like the wash and have a ton of sweater jackets that would look really good with them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Has anyone had luck exchanging final sale items to their store with receipt? I bought some jackie cardis online with the 30% off and one is a whole size bigger than the others, even though they are all marked Small. I also have a pair of matchsticks that are huge.

    ReplyDelete
  75. FFM: Big thanks!

Annon 1:50: My concern is that I cancelled this order so I don't want to be charged for it later on. But they usually charge before they ship and the cc company confirmed no charge was made. It was also sent via UPS which is weird since they weren't using that back in July when this was dated. And they invoiced items that didn't come. We had a problem sending things back too because the return label that was included with shipments previously had the wrong zip on it so it wouldn't get to the right returns processing area. This is where Canada Post is good because you get the insurance and they will pay you back if the order is lost.

math teacher: I don't have a B&M near me (the closest is a 2hour car ride complete with border crossing) but would that make a difference in getting the extra discount? I left a msg for a CS this afternoon but haven't heard back yet.

    ReplyDelete
  76. yogichick: I think as long as they can confirm the extra 40% off in a b&m, they'll give it to you. I don't know if the b&m has to actually carry the item or not. If the cs won't honor it, you could always call back to get another cs. I think we can ask for a specific cs (I'm pretty sure that others here have mentioned doing that). Or, ask for a ps - maybe they can help with the discount.

As for the tracking numbers, I have received those for items purchased over the phone from home, but not from the red phone. I know they're still working out some bugs. When I asked Katelyn if things were going better, she said a little. So, there are still problems.

    ReplyDelete
  77. shannee: I was told by the SA at my store that you can exchange Final Sale for the same item but in a different size/color. :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh yay, that is awesome. Thanks FFM!

  80. For international buyers, Bongo International is a great solution for having a US Address and getting your JCrew shipped.

It's an awesome service and very informative website when it comes to all the rates and currency conversions, etc.

If you have a PROMO code for free shipping then you only pay the international portion and the taxes on your end. No hidden fees.
    Hope this helps!
