J.Crew's Final Sale In-Stores Now 30% Off

Many of you, who reported back from trips to your local J.Crew, have mentioned that the stores are offering an additional 30% off final sale. I decided to call a few J.Crew stores to see if this new percent off was universal. All the stores I called are now offering 30% off final sale, which leads me to believe that this is true for all J.Crew stores.

The additional 40% off final sale items was too good to last forever. ;) I really enjoyed the 40% off too, so much that I didn't even mind that the items were "final sale".

What do you think about the reduction in "additional percent off" from 30% to 40%? Are you planning to visit a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the 30% off final sale items? Do you think we will ever see "an additional 40% off" sale again? ;)

P.S. A big "thanks!" to all the Aficionadas/Aficionados who let us know that their local stores were offering the additional 30% off final sale items. :)

  1. I think the reduction in final sale makes sense since they have one going on the website. It *is* a little weird to go from 40% to 30% and I'm sure they recvd some complaints in-store. However, it sounds more fair to those who can't get to a b&m. I broke my fast so if I get a chance I will go to a b&m tomorrow. I want to see the new goods! What did I break the fast with? Well, I returned some beautiful BCBG silver leather sandals that just weren't the right size and they were having 40% + an additional 50% off at Macy's. I couldn't believe it! I got a pair of Frye sandals for $30, orig $ (didn't know they make sandals). And a pair of Calvin Klein wedge sandals for $36. I had an addt'l $20 off coupon because I am a platinum (?)cardholder. I don't feel guilty. I stayed strong for 3.5 days. :-)

  2. I wish they still had the additional 40% off, but I guess 30% extra is better than nothing...not sure if they will bring back the extra 40% or not...I got some FABULOUS deals with it this last time, though! :)

  3. I didn't buy anything at the store with the 40% off. Everything was picked over and pretty boring....I did buy online with the 30% off.

  4. It was interesting that some of the new fall items were already on sale, like the waffles, the tie-neck shirt, and a graphic tee with a cow on it.

  5. Gigiofca: I agree with your first two sentences 100%! You broke your fast? OH NO, what are you doing!

It was fabulous with the extra 40% off.... but 30% off will do and I have to say I dont think I will need summer clothes for years to come! I mean I got so many clothes for 15 or 20 dollars (it was like having the old J.Crew back again!) AHH-mazing!

Katherine D: Did you try on the waffles? I was wondering about the fit and how thin the fabric is.

I am still thinking about a cashmere shell and I am always thinking about another liberty fabric shirt. I am also considering buying the denim pencil at full price-- someone stop me please... I mean really STOP me! Anyone?

  6. It is getting to be like Macy's. Somedays the price is one discount, somedays it's another, somedays it's full. But at least Macy's doesn't do "Final Sale"!

  7. Blumre: I only tried on the waffle with the fleur de lis, not the henleys. (I didn't like the look of the strings.) The material was quite thin but very soft. I sized up and got a small because I have one from last year that shrank a little after washing it. I did like the sleeves - the had a soft cuff on the ends as opposed to being unfinished.

  8. Gigiofca: I don't blame you for breaking your fast. Macy's has some good deals! The other week I got some matchstick-like capris by Hudson for only $44, marked down from $176!

Speaking of Frye, I just got some Frye clogs to wear for fall/winter from this website called Sierra Trading Post. High-heeled clogs are a staple in my wardrobe during fall/winter, and I needed a replacement. These ones originally retailed for around $150ish, and I got them for $75. And they are so comfy!

  9. blumre - Calvin Klein leather wedges for $36? Yep, I did. It was worth it, though. A couple pair of my sandals are applying for retirement and we still have hot weather here. I have to be honest & say that you might want to jump on the denim pencil skirt at FP. I waited on the denim mini earlier this year, thinking it would go on sale and it vanished within a couple weeks.

kristin - I also think Macy's is getting a little weird. It's starting to feel cheap at times. Now I just go looking for specific items I see in the mailers. If I want to randomly wander through I only go do it on Thu/Fri/Sat because those are usually the sale days.

katherined - I didn't even try on the waffle henley. The colors seemed so bland & a very casual style for the price. It didn't move me, but I agree it's very soft.

  10. I feel like Macys is so much nicer on the West Coast vs. the East coast...which I guess is good for me on the East Coast, one less store.
Those waffles are yucky, they were also on sale and they had so many of them, the strings were weird. I got so many last year I definitely passed. Maybe for 3.99....

  11. gigofca: I will seriously think about the skirt at FP.

  12. gigi: I think you can still consider yourself strong to your fast! You didn't buy any j. crew so it doesn't count right!?

Btw gigi, love the enabling! I'll do my part blumre, by saying that it seems to be very popular too...and that's a recipe for regret!

  13. Alright... I will seriously consider it. Can the code F5X73L be combined with my teacher's discount? If I could do that and FS I would totally do it!

  14. The extra discount is nice, but I think I am pretty ready to move away from summer items into fall! I hope everyone was right about the website showing new arrivals soon, I am DYING to see those! I might go into my store this weekend to see if they have anything. :)

  15. gigiofca: I agree about the colors - my store only had an icky oatmeal color, I didn't even look for sizes in that style. I just have a soft spot for fleur de lis - I'll probably use it as a comfortable lounge shirt.

  16. blumre: I'm not sure. You can call in your order and see what they say. If CS gives you a hard time about it, you could just say never mind and not place the order. (I did that just yesterday.)

  17. weab you have guts... I feel like I would be too chicken to do that and they would put a black dot on my file or something... I mean J.Crew is like my dealer... you don't want to piss of your dealer! My doorman told me that actually. As I told Alexis, J. Crew is like crack. Cashmere Crack! If for some reason they stopped loving me, I would have serious issues. Don't you remember the conniptions I was having when I wasn't getting the e-mails? I was a step a way from getting the shakes.

  18. blumre: you are too funny! LOVE your analogy, btw! :) I have also called to place an order and then told the rep never mind when she refused to use my coupon code. Then I called back a few minutes later and got a rep who DID use the coupon AND gave me Free Shipping. I don't think they will put a bad mark on your profile...the skirt is SUPERCUTE, btw! :) I say go for it!

  19. Blumre: the J.crew catalogs are my crack - I especially love the on-location ones, because the clothes just look so much better in natural light than in the studio.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ktherine D: I agree about the natural light! You can really see the colors and the variations then!

  21. blumre: hahaha!!! So true! I also don't ever get a single e-mail, NONE! I'm twitching just thinking about it! :)

  22. OK I will try calling... I want to order MMiller one of the on point dress shirts. he really loves then and its such a good staple for him for his birthday and I feel so out of ideas... very depressing and its such a big birthday for him! :(

  23. then= them

and when I call I will try for the pencil skirt

    you freaking enablers!!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  24. blumre: just wondering, did you get the pencil skirt? I bought mine last week b/c a) I can wear it now and later and b) my sa said they were selling like crazy. Don't know if they're selling everywhere like crazy, but I got 20% off and I have been wanting a denim pencil skirt. It's a great skirt, especially the back with the kick pleat, instead of just a slit.

  25. Math Teacher sorry we were away, no I havent gotten it yet but I think I will next week. I could totally even dress that up for work. I think I will use the code for 15% off FP items and then I still have my teacher's discount and FS... so hopefully that will all work! :)

  26. blumre: nothing to apologize for. Now that I'm back in school and everything is blocked there, I don't have as much time to keep up with the blog. Plus, my comments are hours late! It's probably good that it's blocked at school or I wouldn't get anything done there! :) Good luck with the skirt. I did have to size down, but then I hate having skirts sitting on my hips. It's okay with pants, but low rise skirts are not for me! Let us know if you can use both 15%'s. If so, I just might get the Lydia blouse (new Elizabeth).
