J.Crew sent an email announcing that new styles have been added to their final sale both online and in-stores.
Also, "thanks!" to Julie, Victoria, and others who let me know about this email- I really appreciate it! :)
Did you find there were lots of new styles added to the final sale? Were you able to purchase any new items online or in stores? If so, please let us know! :)
Hooray I actually got this email :)
ReplyDeleteAre b&m's still having a % off final sale? I really want to order some things and would love to get a price match from my nearest store if possible.
Hi All,
ReplyDeleteI have recv'd the email promising new items on the online sale page.
Just for giggles & grins, I took a quick peek. I did notice that the sweet potato herringbone skirt item 95910 is now $100 in some colors. Now last I checked, they were in stock at my B&M here on the west coast. Not sure if you could claim the instore 40% discount. Even so, I thought I should mention it because I know that many of you have mentioned it. In fact, I'm pretty certain FFM has featured that skirt in one of her fab outfit suggestions.
As for me, I'm holding out for more 120s to go on the sale page. Otherwise, I'm pretty good (thanks to the weekend sales) until some of the newer items start to go on sale. I hope that y'all find something you've been hoping for!
Happy hunting,
Heather:D
I noticed that the Boucle Lucille is there and the ruffled seaside dress went to $29.99. I have this dress in another color and I love it. Also the herringbone Fiona is FS @ 129.99.
ReplyDeleteStores have 20% off and they will match...in my experience today.
ReplyDeleteWho all got the Quincy tumbled leather hobo in yellow?? Those went fast!! I checked stock this morning and there were a lot but I decided to go ahead and order ASAP anyway and this afternoon they were GONE! I am excited as I think the yellow will be nicer than the shade they did with Las Palmas yellow (I found to be just a bit of an unexpectedly strange shade of yellow--not the golden bright yellow I had hoped). I should say not the great color yellow that this hobo looks to be:)
I was hoping that the penelope flats would go on sale, but instead the 2 penelope heels went on sale. If anyone sees that these are on sale in stores, please let me know. TIA
ReplyDeleteI was also excited to see the green bead ring on sale. I saw this on an sa and it is SO cool! If they still have it online next time I'm in my b&m, I will order it.
I also received this email...I'm still going to try and wait for the Holiday Rollout before making another purchase, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm finally on the J.Crew email list. Did I get there by spending way too much this fall?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when is the holiday roll out that FFM is speaking of?
I picked up the cotton-silk lawn twisted-placket shirt (98698) in ivory - it's pretty much see-through, but I wanted something to wear under my Jackies that wasn't so bulky and it fit that purpose perfectly! I did pick up the dream open cardigan in carrot the other day (when the sale was still 40%), it's a great fall color.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the holiday rollout, I got an invitation from my PS for an in-store holiday preview, I think in mid-October (15th, maybe). So I think stores will start to show holiday stuff around then... who knows with .com?
jcrew guy in canada: The Holiday Rollout is supposed to take place around mid October...they are aiming for the 15th at my B&M. :)
ReplyDeleteCovert5, I was trying to decide if I should get the Quincy Hobo or the Tote. I ended up going for the Tote because I tend to like a more retangular / structured bag. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice.
ReplyDeleteFFM, your outfits inspired me to get the Belle in the Fog. I previously got the size 8 in the Atlantic Blue and the Bright Rhubarb but I think I got them too big because they were sitting below my belly. When I hiked them up to my waist, I could literally stick both arms down my skirt. So, I got a size 4 this time. I hope it won't be too small. I got them larger because I like the look of a longer skirt but it wasn't very comfortable wearing them quite so low. Again, I hope the 4 works.
I came pretty close to buying the Boucle Mohair Jacket but decided against it after re-reading Alexis' previous blog on the jacket. I think I would have found it too itchy to get much use from it.
Can anyone tell me how the penelope heels fit? Do they run small? Are they comfortable? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOctober 15th eh, thanks FFM. Just when my credit card was cooling off, guess I'll be warming it up again. Ah well, it's only money, I can amke more.
ReplyDeleteI purchased the Metallic-linen Casa Rossa jacket (93406). I've been eying it ever since it first came out during late spring...I'm thrilled to get it on sale. The CS rep told me that the stock is so low that my order might be canceled, but I just received a UPS tracking number...so I'm hoping that this will go through.
ReplyDeleteSilver_lining-I bought the exact same shirt for the exact same reason. Unfortunately, I bought it the other day before the extra $10 off, doh
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how the cafe capris fit?
ReplyDeleteShannon, the cafe capris are the best fit I've found so far in J.Crew pants for my hourglass (slightly pear) figure.
ReplyDeleteThey sit low on the hip so I don't have to worry about the waist being too big, and unlike the matchstick jeans they don't grab at the saddlebag area, nor do they dig into my hip and give me that muffin top look.
I am 5'4" with short legs so they are closer to an ankle pant then a mid-calf capri on me.
shannon: I have 3 pair of cafe capris, and they all fit a little different! One is a little tight, one is just right, and one is too big. Go figure! I've had sa's tell me to try on even if I've already bought in a different color b/c sizing can be change. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteshannon: I agree with hexicon, at 5'4" they are more like ankle pants (which I like).
ReplyDeleteHi, I was wondering in any of you has the marcella blouse. Does it fit well, or sizes run a bit big? I am P0 that sometimes fits a 0, and there is a $20 difference between petites and full sizes, so I need your advice.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
ECN
HOW CAN ANYONE BUY CLOTHES RIGHT NOW? I am an AVID Jcrew-er and clothes fanatic. I am stressed out about the economy. Usually, clothes take my mind off of reality, NOT THIS TIME. I feel that our economy is ready to nose dive off of a cliff. We have all drunk too deeply from the debt well. I think that I must (hopefully, temporarily) say AU REVOIR to my beloved JCrew. At least until the tide turns.... Am I the only one??
ReplyDeleteJenG.
Thanks so much ladies. I'm 5'4" as well and that is just the length I was hoping for
ReplyDeleteI too am 5'4" and love the length of my cafe capris! :)
ReplyDeleteI got the Marcella in a 4P then realized that they weren't on sale (odd) so I removed the petite from my basket and got the regular size 2. Once it gets here I will post a review on how it fits vs the petite. Hope this helps! :)
JenG: You are not alone. I'm not ready to stop spending, but I will be thinking carefully before I do, and looking for incentives to spend, like extra % off.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else watching project runway? Funny how Kenley early in the show wondered why she's always by herself and others laughing in a group, and then she goes on to belittle every other designer.
ReplyDeleteI think fireworks are about to go off. I hope Korto doesn't get voted off, she's cool. Of course, I also like Leanne and Jerrell ... so by my vote, goodbye arrogant kenley.
I also love the cafe capris! They are like an ankle pant and not some weird length between knee and ankle.
ReplyDeletejcrewjunkie - I think you will be happy with the Marcella in a size 2. I am happy with my 2.
Montgomery store offers 20% off FS. They have Quincy bags, cords, tons of Marcella blouses, Tuesday surge trench coats in Navy, Ecoles, few of Lucilles in both colors, tons of jewelry.
ReplyDeleteShannon,
ReplyDeleteto second Hexicon, I think capris are ones of the best fitting pants J Crew offers. Have them in multiple colors and absolutely adore them.
La belle helene:
ReplyDeleteI have watched all PR shows starting with season 1.:) Totally agree, Kenley lacks talent and has attitude problems, she should go. I have a hunch she will. Let's see if I am right. Will know in a minute.
Does anyone know how TTS the dream open cardigans run? TIA!
ReplyDeleteSurrlie:
ReplyDeletefor me down sizing provided the best fit. I am XS-S and XS was better fitting.
slastena, well, so no one "auf-ed" tonight....I just find if amusing Kenley keeps saying she doesn't understand why everyone avoids her...
ReplyDeleteI did like Leanne's dress the best - that's the one I'd have worn had I had to choose among the four. I thought Kenley's was awful - and for her to say it's not a cliche, I mean, fish-tail or scaly dresses aren't exactly new. Marion Cotillard wore one to the Oscars when she won for her role as Edith Piaf.
I have a feeling Korto may be the one who doesn't get to show. I think she's been the weakest overall of the four left. Which is too bad, because she nice.
Really? I thought she (Korto)did not do so well on this singular occasion, overall, she is pretty good. For me Kenley had the weakest designs consistently througout the show.
ReplyDeleteLoved the "La Vie En Rose", what a heratbreaking movie, what a magnificent performance.
slastena,
ReplyDeletethat was a tremendous performance by cotillard - I just wish it had been fictional, and not a true story. What a tragic story.
I do agree Korto is talented, I guess I just have noticed more of Kenley's stuff. Early on, I quite liked her, until her arrogance just became more and more evident, and she laughed at other designers while their stuff was being critiqued by the judges.
I'd love to see Leanne, Jerrell and Korto show. Based on reviews I read from the actual shows (they had decoy shows so the winner from ny fasion week wouldn't be revealed), it sounded like leanne had the best collection, so I think she's definitely in.
We're certainly in for an entertaining episode next week :-)
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU POSTED PR SPOILERS WITH NO WARNING!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo much for waiting to be surprised when I watch the recording later
:/
Anon.:
ReplyDeleteso sorry, we did not mean to.:(
It's still fun to watch.
La Belle Helene;
I suspected Leanne would have the strongest collection, she is by far the mmost creative of them all.
I have to remember to stay off the blog and boards on Wed night lol. I am on the west coast and it hasn't aired yet
ReplyDeleteI own about 10 pairs of the cafe capris. Needless to say I love them. I'm only 5'3" so they sit right at my ankles, but I did have one pair cropped as it was the yellow kimono dot pattern and I liked the pattern better short. I haven't found any sizing variance in my 10 pairs, and some of them are from the factory outlets (at $12 last count).
ReplyDeleteI think Marcella runs a bit big. I don't have broad shoulders and my chest area is larger, so with the loose fit around the chest I wear a 6 instead of an 8 in the slim shirt styles.
Seen stores in NJ with 40% off FS and 50% FS ! Picked up a pair of $85 Jack Purcells for $15!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my FS items got cancelled 2 days after order was placed. Grrrr! Website still needs work.
Stopped by my b&r but there was nothing new! Also, the Internet shows that the velvet ecole was available in P0 honey glaze online, but when called tobordwe using red phone, I was told that jacket in P0 is sold out in all colors except for the burgandy. Then the final sale is back to 20% instead of 40% extra...
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating! Will pass now and wait...
tobordwe???? Sorry! I meant 'to order'...
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree the Marcella runs big...
I can't believe how many of us are around 5'3" - 5'4" tall. I am 5'4" tall and the city fit cafe capris sit right at my ankle. I think they would fit more like Capris had I purchased them in the Petites but by the time I get around to buying them, J Crew's usually sold out of the Petite sizes so I end up buying the Regular and the Regular goes down to my ankles. But what I like about them (being longer than what they're supposed to be) is that I can get away with them at the office. When they're short, ie Capris length, they tend to look a little too casual. So, the longer length works for me. I have 4 pairs and love them all. Jacquelyn, I'm sure you will like them as much as we do. :)
ReplyDeleteappgal and anyone else, How are you guys getting a price match? When I called JCrew online Tuesday night they refused to do a price match unless I called from a red phone! (and I don't live near a store and I did explain that to the customer service rep and she held firm to what she said is JCrew's policy...they don't price match unless you are in a store...)
ReplyDeleteconvert5: There are alot of Quincy bags this am online.
ReplyDeleteI got some great deals at the Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights store (DC) yesterday. 3-penny princess, have you been to this store? It is HUGE! Anyway, I got the brown velvet ecole, the sweet potato astrid, a headband, and the gray belle- all for about $200 total!!!! That included my 15% student discount. I am very pleased. :) There was 20% discount off final sale.
ReplyDeleteI also got some chiffon rose belts at the Pentagon City store on Tuesday for 40% off the marked down price.
I just wanted to rave about the double-serge pencil skirt (96477) that I am wearing today. It is just so substantial, and a very classic style that one could wear for a long time. I'm a hair under 5'5" and it hits right at the middle of my knee, so it's perfect for work. I found it to be true to size - it's thick wool like last year's Lexington jackets, and fully lined. I'm wearing it in Deep Persimmon with a white tank and the Poppy Jackie from summer, along with the metallic-gold skinny leather belt from the summer and the Juliet midheels in Blanched Almond. I highly recommend this skirt!
ReplyDeleteSilver_lining,
ReplyDeleteI will second your rave about the double serge skirt. I purchased it in black and love it! I am a bit curvy and usually pencil skirts are not my best bet, but this is fantastic.
OT, but does anyone have the Penny jacket yet? Review it if you do, please. I especially want to know about the fabric thickness/ how bulky the jacket feels.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
at my local B&M I purchased the velvet ecole jacket for %40 off the sale price yesterday bringing it down to just $78. Worth the trip if you're looking for this one. Also, there is a secret sale on cashmere tees for $99.
ReplyDeleteSilver_lining:
ReplyDeleteI can almost picture you in that outfit.Totally fabulous! I have not come across this skirt in my b&m , but I am dying to try it on. I am the same height as you are.
Anonymous @ 3:15am - The price match seems to be a luck of the draw for some here on the blog. However, each time I've called and requested it, it's been honored. I have gotten the impression that the CS cannot always tell if you're calling from a store or not. That may apply to the CS reps who work from home; they may not be able to see it on their phone. If you're calling from Canada, they probably wouldn't honor it since there are no b&ms there. Otherwise, I would just be nice but not timid about the request. Like someone else said...if they say no, call back and get another rep. I usually have gone by a b&m or at least know that my local store has the promo. So I tell the rep I was in the store earlier. I mean, who really wants to sit on the phone there? Or wait until someone else gets off? At any rate, the rep needs to call the store and verify the info. Hope at least some of this helps. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, slastena! I am really loving the tonal looks from the October catalog and have gotten a lot of compliments today. Hope you get a chance to see the skirt - I'd love to have one in every color!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with those that have bought the double serge pencil skirt. It is so pretty and fits so well. I usually have to size up with pencil skirts due to being slightly pear shaped. But not with this one. Now, I only wish it would cool down enough for me to wear it.
ReplyDeleteI am wearing the straight denim skirt and sweet potato Marcella blouse today. I have been receiving lots of compliments.
amy - I must have missed you at Pentago City! I went there to pick up my herringbone sweet potato pants that I was getting hemmed, but then I decided to drop by Tysons because I hadn't been there in a while and wanted to check out their sale section. I cleaned house at Tysons! All the sale items were still 20% off yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLadies - If you've been hoping to stock up on cashmere femme sweaters, don't miss the deal! I got a navy cashmere femme sweater, which I had been seriously craving, for $95 after sale and 20% off. I also got 2 dream argyle crewnecks for $48 each. Plus I just received my cashmere rosette cardigan in orange for just $48.
Also, I broke down and bought the plum merino rose cardigan. It really is beautiful! I can't wait to wear it.
There's nothing new in menswear, I guess this doesn't apply to me, but I got the e-mail anyway.
ReplyDelete3-penny princess...how does the merino rose cardigan fit?
ReplyDeletesooner_girl - the merino rose cardigan has a pretty classic fit. Thankfully not as loose as the cashmere cardigan (on me) but also not too tight. It's not a streamlined straight shape like the schoolgirl cashmere cardi. The merino rose cardi hugs the hip and bust a little but drapes across the torso.
ReplyDeleteI'm a petite with a fairly slender top half and medium bustline. The xs drapes nicely along my torso but doesn't hug too closely when I button 1-2 buttons. When I button it all the way, it follows my figure a little closer to my bustline.
On me, the merino rose cardigan is not as tight a fit as is pictured on the model online. It looks more like the fit of the tartine cardigan pictured on the model online (except the sleeves are longer on me).
I thought the color wouldn't work for me at all because I absolutely never wear purple - I wear a lot of rhubarb, persimmon, orange, and sometimes fuchsia - but for some reason the plum looks striking on my skin tone. I'm pretty fair-skinned with a slight yellow tint and my hair is a shade between the merino rose cardi model and the tartine cardi model.
Hope that helps!
3-penny princess...thank! I guess I should buy the same size in this cardigan as I did in the tartine?
ReplyDeleteGet each others email address and talk about Project Runway on your own air space so no one is upset! This is a J Crew blog. Sorry but it is true and not everyone watches or cares about the show.
ReplyDeletei've been watching the final sale for a couple weeks waiting to see if anything new would show up but i finally caved yesterday and bought a bunch of stuff...
ReplyDelete1. wool herringbone pencil skirt in sour lemon (yellow)
2. double-serge pencil skirt in persimmon (not on sale but i have this skirt in fuchsia and ivory and LOVE them)
3. peacock green liberty print shirt (i'm thinking about pairing it with the yellow skirt)
4. swiss dot shirt in navy
5. cotton cady strapless dress in royal violet (i think it would be a good party dress this fall/winter since purple is a popular color)
i really wish the domino pencil skirt would come back! one day i had it in my cart and then a few minutes later it was sold out again.
i've been buying sale stuff to stock up for winter and to prepare for student teaching in the spring. i hope they keep the sale up until the holidays because i always get a bunch of gifts from the sale section.
