This warehouse sale is also mentioned in the Stephmodo blog, where the author Stephanie reports some great prices for J.Crew items: "We're talking swimsuits for $5, heavy coats for $15, and these cute galoshes for $10." She also shares the following "P.S. There are no fitting rooms available (just a full-length mirror) so wear a fitted top to make trying things on a little easier and more accurate."
Both blogs were also kind enough to share the location and additional details of this fabulous Warehouse sale:

If any Aficionadas or Aficionados plan on going to this warehouse sale, please let us know how it is. I have never been to a warehouse sale, so I am curious to hear all about it! :)
I remember when they did this at UMass Amherst when I was in college. That definitely started my love affair with J. Crew. I wish they did it more often and near me.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered where folks get all the j crew stuff to sell on ebay...now I know. So Lucky!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I would LOVE to be able to attend one of these sales...wish they would have one in Florida!!!
ReplyDeletethat sounds amazing! anon @ 4:52, they should do another one, I live sorta close to UMass!
ReplyDelete*brain implodes*
ReplyDeleteYeah, I used to go to these in the late 90's when I was in college - it really is a crazy free-for-all! Awesome - they must REALLY have to move stuff if they're going back to the warehouse sales.
ReplyDeleteI wished I lived close enough to go..... I am so jealous!
ReplyDeletewarehouse sales are awesome... i have so many bathing suits i got for $3 a piece. please let us know when there will be one in NJ/NY/CT area!
ReplyDeleteOh my. I am so JEALOUS...
ReplyDeleteI wish they had one of these near me in Florida.
I wont be surprised if I see alot more items from J Crew listed soon on ebay from this area. Wish I could go :(
Does anyone plan on attending? Wanna pick a few things up for me- I'll pay ya! :)

They used to do this in Tucson once a year or so. It was always packed. It was like being in a thrift store---very much like a rummage sale.
ReplyDeleteOh my lord that's not fair. Just one more reason why I miss the West.
ReplyDeleteThey used to have these in central IL where I lived....I got a few sweaters this way...I have to admit though I think I would pass on these nowadays...It is like cardboard boxes full of stuff that you have to dig through.....not my thing anymore but if you are up to that....have fun:)
ReplyDeleteLadies, my tip: wear a skirt...that way you can try on pants...that is what I always did....
I used to go to these during college in the late 90's in upstate NY. I wondered what happened to them, since I never heard of them again!
ReplyDeleteThose sales are so fun. I went to one in Oregon a few years ago. They brought out new stuff every day, and even reduced the prices more as time went on. Is there a way to track where these J.Crew warehouse sales are happening?
ReplyDeleteOh, what I would give to go there! Why in the world did J.Crew pick Utah?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI went to one when I was in college (maybe 2002?) in Boston. The deals were incredible. It was annoying that there were no fitting rooms and that you had to pick through the bins, but I scored some amazing deals. Cashmere-blend scarves and gloves for $5 each, a sweater coat for $20, and I think boots were only $50. I've been keeping an eye out for warehouse sales but haven't heard of any since! (except for Alexis's newest post).
ReplyDeleteOMG I'M JEALOUS!
ReplyDeleteI went. the size selection was not great and the sweaters are NOT $7, they are $15, which is great. i picked up a couple cashmere ones, and 3 tote bags for $5 apiece, which i plan on having my mother monogram. i also am curious as to why they picked utah, but as a recently transplanted prep who writes for YHO, i was psyched to see this and flew on down there.
ReplyDeleteI too remember in college going to these (late 90s). I wish they still had them where I live! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteI went to a sale like this several years ago (at least 4 or 5) here at PSU. I don't remember them having the greatest selection but I did get my thinsulate wool coat there for less than $25.
ReplyDelete*plea to Jcrew*
Come back pleeeeeease!!!!
They picked Utah, because there is a JC shipping center somewhere near Salt Lake City. I live in Albuquerque, NM and all my online shipments come from Salt Lake City. I just wish I lived closer so I could go to this!
ReplyDeletelucky ppl Utah... this almost makes me ill
ReplyDeleteahh yes, i remember these sales at UMass Amherst (anon at 4:52) as well... such a good deal. long time ago though, 1998 and 1999 i remember, i don't know if they've been up there to do the sale since. i'm glad they still do them though. it's a blast.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great opportunity for the people in the area. I wonder if the items being sold are from the current season, last year, regular stores, factory stores or a combination of a few sources
ReplyDeleteLucky ducks! Wonder if they freeship...haha.
ReplyDeleteBack in the late 90s JCrew had these warehouse sales near all the big college campuses. It was great. I would get everyone on my Christmas list a JCrew sweater and spend like $100 total.
ReplyDeleteI called JCrew last spring to see if they still do these and the CS rep said no, only in Lynchburg. Glad to see she was wrong, hope they bring these back nationwide, they were AWESOME and totally worth the digging through boxes for. I go to the annual Lily Pulitzer sale and do this.
Jcrew still does this in virginia tech every spring
ReplyDeleteJcrew still does this kind of sale in virginia tech every spring.
ReplyDeleteLL Bean always did those in Delaware where I grew up and my mom and I would go every winter. The deals were fantastic and it was such a fun shopping experience. When I heard about Boston's "running of the brides" I thought of those old warehouse sales. I'd give my eyeteeth to go to a JCrew warehouse sale- bring one to Michigan, PLEASE!!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I would totally be up for that.
ReplyDeleteclub monaco now offers 20% off for students
ReplyDeletetrumping jcrew?!
discount battle!
They used to do one near the Rutgers Campus in NJ every year in the 90's...I always meant to go, but didn't. Here's to hoping they're bringing 'em back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post!
When I went to Ohio State I worked at one of the J. Crew warehouse sales. We were able to look through all the merchandise and pick first. It was several days of hard work but incredibly worth it.
ReplyDeleteIn the late 90's they had them for a few consecutive years in Newport RI. I worked at two of them, I thought that these types of sales had ended. Does anyone know how they advertise these types of sales or if there is a current schedule. I know it is a separate company from JCrew that travels and sells the merch.
ReplyDeleteI too went to these when they had at my college campus (Univ. of South Carolina). I think they had them two years. I picked up some great stuff, including a beach dress I still wear.
ReplyDeleteI would also love them to come back.
On a semi-related topic. Several people mentioned other warehouse sales that happen (Lilly, LL Bean, etc.) It'd be great to know when these happen and where??
i live in charlottesville, va which is about an hour from lynchburg, and i would literally live and die for a jcrew warehouse sale. i practically stopped breathing out of jealousy when i read this post. anyway to ANYONE out there who has ever been to one or knows anything about the lynchburg warehouse sale....could you please please please email me! i would be forever grateful to you...

^Christina, if you find out, please let us know! :)
ReplyDeletei went. twice in one day (and i live 35 minutes away). it was awesome. as soon as i left the first time I regretted leaving and so had to return later that evening with girlfriends. it was quite a scene. during the day there were swarms of 20 year old utah moms dragging screaming kids through the aisles and at night swarms of high school and college kids. loud music playing. some 15 year old kid tried to hit on me. i'm 29. it was pure insanity. but i got LOADS of good stuff. SO glad i live here right now
ReplyDeleteI live in DC and have hear rumors about a WH sale in Virginia. Does anyone know anything about this? How does one get invited/attend a WH sale?
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned a Lilly P Sale...where is this one? Would love to go to that! I live in MA and sometimes go to the Mariposa sale (not clothing, but a sale none the less!)
ReplyDelete20 year old moms?? ick.
ReplyDeleteDo you know if they are every doing this again? It was so awesome last time.
