  1. I wish there was a Madewell in CT. I'd like to check it out.

  2. They need to have a sale since they are charging $200 for a pair of blue jeans seen Here . I thought Madewell was supposed to be LESS expensive than J.Crew.

  3. Sorry, the link didn't go to the exact page. The jeans are the ones in Look #4. :) $200!!!

  4. SlightlyOlderSally: A Madewell store is expected to open in Greenwich, CT later this year. :)

FFM: I agree that $200 jeans seems expensive to me. Does J.Crew even offer $200 jeans for women?

  5. Does anyone know if Madewell store will be opening in North Cal anytime soon?

  6. sibling rivalry! It looks like dad likes the little sister best! boo hoo! She's got a new catalog site, promotions, roll outs. The boring older child, J. Crew, hasn't had a new toy for a while. Maybe the new one is the product of a second marriage.

  7. fidele: That's just 101 economics. They gotta divert their resources from somewhere to keep their new line afloat. I don't care much for Madewell though, seeing how it's only for women.

  8. I just went to Madewell after hearing about the sale - there are a lot of sale items in Century City, mostly tees and knits around $20, hoodies, corduroy pants and some jeans, knee-length pleated corduroy skirts, select scarves (circle print scarves in multiple colors and silk scarves) for $15, and a few dresses. All of these were from the earlier fall collection; now there's a newer collection in stores. I picked up two scarves and a tee for around $34 with my student discount.

  9. As I was looking at this post again, it struck me as funny that it says: *Four small letters, One Great Word- SALE*...so why is SALE a *great word* at Madewell, but seems to be a *dirty* word at J.Crew? Also, I wonder if Madewell has the Final Sale, too?

  10. We don't have a Madwell near us..could someone please explain...is it J crew but less quality or better? (what Ann Taylor Loft is to AT) or the reverse? Is the sizing similar?
    Thanks!

  11. FFM - The sale merchandise at Madewell is returnable, so no FS

Anon - I think J. Crew has better quality than Madewell. Also, I'm a petite girl and J. Crew products always run big on me, but Madewell's sizing is TTS for me.

  12. Christina: Thanks for the information regarding NO Final Sale at Madewell! I wish J.Crew would get rid of Final Sale again...
