- the Andrea jacket (in both colors)
- the Simone jacket
- the Sparkle Plaid Tweed Pencil skirt
- the Abstract Rose-print dress
- the Silk Taffeta Gracie dress
- the Pindot Gracie dress,
- the Lydia blouse (only certain colors),
- the Dream Silvie dress
- the Cashmere Flora dress, and more...
P.S. I apologize for not posting this information sooner. :) I was traveling for most of today and was unable to connect online.
I ordered the Silvie dress in charcoal this morning. I have tried it on before so I know it fits tts.
ReplyDeleteI emailed CS to get the student/educator discount applied. They gave me free shipping instead. Weird, just plain weird.
Have I mentioned before that I do not like Final Sale? Ok, now that we have that out of the way...
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of really bright colors on FS that are just not going to work well now that the weather is turning...I wish they would just go back to the normal sale ALTHOUGH I have noticed that things are on sale in the normal sections. I wonder if this is how they are going to do it from now on. Making us look for the sales. Boo.
I ordered the Andrea jacket in Rhubarb and the CS gave me the 15% student discount and honored the 20% off in the store - without even calling the store. I couldn't believe it. I also ordered 2 of the chiffon rose belts and she gave me the store price of $9.99 with 20% off also without calling the store! I also got the tissue tee turtle neck in slate and chocolate, all for only $200. What a good shopping day! I ordered a wool bella from the outlet, so thanks to everyone for your advice. I know the quality is not the same, but hopefully with the wool one fully lined, it will be close

ReplyDeleteI was at the Rockaway Townsquare today and they had a new load of final sale merchandise, all at 50% off. If you know any men, send them over, the bargains were fabulous!
I should say, the bargains in menswear were also fabulous, and there was a lot to choose from.
ReplyDeleteargyle How much was the tissue tee in the store?
ReplyDeleteI've been snapping up sale items regularly for the past two months. The best deals have been washed favorite shirts and the shetland sweaters. I even found some great ties marked down too.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the holiday roll out will bring?
Casual-crew,
ReplyDeleteThe tissue turtleneck was still full price, but I was able to get the %15 off as a student discount.
Casual-crew,
ReplyDeleteI ordered mine through the phone, but I just called my store and they're still full price there (39.50)
OT but has anyone ordered a pair of boots from j.crew this season yet? I am eyeing the Glenbrae tall boots in suede (the heels, not flat) but I wanted to get some feedback from others on the boot styles and quality this year. i like a more refined boot which is why I'm looking at the suede versus the prone-to-distressing leather version. I DO love that J.crew offers extended calf options!
ReplyDeleteso maybe a call in will get you 50% off using Rockaway location final sale??
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the matchsticks $14.99??Is this for real?
Hi - Does anyone have feedback on the Serengeti dress (I loved the blouse in the same fabric but the side zipper made it look so odd tucked in) or the Gracie (how well does the dress fit in the back - the online photo doesn't look too great)?
ReplyDeleteI would be interested to know how tts the fit is and the weight/quality of the fabric and lining. Thanks!
Shoegal,
ReplyDeleteI just returned a pair of Glenbrae boots...leather not suede, but I figured I would offer my feedback anyway. I'll preface my comments by saying I love JCrew boots and I have purchased many pair over the years (I do think that the quality has slipped slightly in the last couple of years). I ended up returning them mainly because I was disappointed in the leather quality (especially for the price point)...it wasn't very soft at all IMO...I have a similar style from last year and the leather is much nicer. Also the other thing that I didn't like is that they were very difficult to put on/take off...I'm fine with no zipper, but they should have "pulls" or those loops at the top that help you pull them on and they didn't have them. In the end it came down to the fact that I didn't *love them*...if I came across them on final sale, maybe I would reconsider, but for now they were a pass.
thanks for the feedback, Anon! Yeah, the no-zipper thing was a dealbreaker for me, for the leather ones. Thats another reason why i was looking to get suede. Thats disappointing to hear about the quality.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of the Glenbrae suede boots in gray that I really love. The fit is TTS and the quality of suede is good for the price point.
ReplyDeleteOoh! did you get the flat ones or the ones with heels? The gray ones are pretty!
ReplyDeleteshoegal: I also purchase the Glenbrae's in gray suede and L.O.V.E. them!!! I bought the flat version. I will say, though, that it's not a full zipper which makes it a little tough to tuck jeans in the right way. I wore them last week with a pair of really skinny jeans and they worked great. The suede is gorgeous and worth every penny. I'm feeling like JC is going to be doing another 20% promo soon, since the markets are sinking which means less consumer spending. I got mine during the last promotion and got a great deal. Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - it worked. I called in from home and asked for the 50% off being offered at the Rockaway store in New Jersey. I had to call like 4 times, each conversation beginning with "Will you honor the 50% off at this store, even on items not in the store?" I got the Andrea jacket for $80 and 2 Tartine cardigans for $34 each! The inconsistency is amazing, and it feels akward hunting for the bargains, but if they're out there...it's hard not to. I'm not used to shopping this way :) Hopefully this will work for you, too - just be persistent!
ReplyDeleteargyle, are you able to place orders from outlet stores?
ReplyDeleteShoegal- I got the flat glenbrae suede in gray. I like to wear them them with skinny jeans, matchstick cords and the jersey knit pants. There very chic. You could probably get a good deal if they offer another 20% coupon.
ReplyDeleteArgyle are the tartine cardigans on sale? It still is priced 88 online?
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie! I was pretty sold on the brown suede heeled boots but the gray is tempting, especially after good reviews!
ReplyDeleteDoes the Andrea jacket fit TTS? I am normally a size 0 for J Crew's tops and cardigans and dresses... but have never bought a jacket and really want to get this. I live overseas so cannot go into the store to try it on. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:24- I called an outlet store and they're going to ship me the Bella jacket (Shipping was $14)
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:28- The Tartine is still $88 online, but $69 in stores.
oooh, the Silvie dress is on sale now...does anyone own this dress or tried it on? I've been eying it for awhile, but can't figure out how it would fit. Any help would be great :)
ReplyDeleteOK, let me vent about my on line order.
ReplyDeleteI purchased four items on FS. UPS delivered today , opened up my package only to have three of the items I ordered and one of someone else's with there invoice and not mine. I called CS to inform them of the miss-hap only to be told that they would credit my account for my item plus shipping.
The CSR rep would not listen to me when I told her that what I wanted was my missing item and, that I could only assume that if I had the other persons shirt she had my sweater.
The CSR would not listen to me and told me that this is the procedure that they follow.
Unbelievable, she put me on hold for over 20 minutes. I finally hung up and called my local JC store to have the issue resolved. No, sweater but, at least a gift card for the miss-hap. Thanks to my great local JC store.
Sorry for the vent, new to the blog, love JC but, they really need to improve CSR.
Is there an extra percent off in stores? I'm going to the Garden State store tomorrow to see if they still have the luxe knit tees on sale and an extra percent off would be fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteWith the silvie, it seems like all that bunching in the front waist area could be very unattractive. I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried it on, too.
ReplyDeletethe silvie dress is a great fit! i am a 12 usually and took a large in this dress. it lays nicely and doesn't cling in the wrong places and looks very nice on. i am excited to wear it with tights and a cute belt!
ReplyDeleteMy sister tried on the silvie and she's between a size 4 and 6 and 5'2" and the dress looked adorable on her.
ReplyDeletelindsay - how is the material. Is it itchy? Do you need to wear something underneath on top? Thanks for your help :-)
ReplyDeleteJust to let you guys know, I had bought the Gracie dress last thursday at full price ($250) and I saw that it had gone on sale today. I emailed CS about 15 minutes ago and had a reply within 5 minutes to have the price adjusted. I received a $63 credit on my charge card with the added school discount on top of the sale price. I am just so in love with J.Crew's CS, they have been so helpful in helping me find the dress, as it has been sold out in my color and size. As to the fit of the Gracie Dress, it fits absolutely beautifully. The collar is stunning and it fits very well. The only problem is, it bunches up in the back for me. My butt seems to be too big for the dress. Everything else fits perfectly except for this area. So, I think I will have to go on a little diet before I wear the dress. But it really is a stunning piece and I can't wait to wear it :)I am normally a size 8 in J.Crew dresses, and it is definitely TTS.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, I tried on the Silvie Dress in store, and it is so cute. I would purchase it, but i'm not sure if I can afford anything right now :(
katherined: I think most stores have the extra 20% still, except for Rockaway which has 50% off.
ReplyDeleteAnon@8:49: I was just about to ask that same question :)
ReplyDeleteThe camel color is out in my size, and I love the honey glaze color but worry that it'll be TOO much yellow. If you've seen this IRL and can give any feedback, let me know. TIA!
thanks ffm! Luckily I have no school tomorrow because of Yom Kippur so I can check out what the store has... and if they have any new rollouts!
ReplyDeleteargyle> wow! you want to order stuff for me??? I would love a couple of tartine sweaters. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWould anyone who was in a retail store today and noticed any items on sale that are not on sale online mind posting any that they recall!?!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Alexis: Thank you for posting new sales! Don't worry. We all appreciate your hard work to share information:)
ReplyDeleteI didn't plan to buy anything on final sale, but I bought Sparkle plaid tweed pencil skirt (#96176) on impluse... Hope my decision will turn out good. I also saw Italian bouclé pencil skirt (#96473) sold at $109(?) this morning. But it's gone so quickly!
appgirl: I have the Silvie dress! I really like it. :) It fits TTS / a little big. In the special occasions dresses, I wear a size 4 but wear an XS in the silvie and it's still a bit loose. It's a bit stretchy, so very forgiving. I asked FFM for some ideas on wearing it and they were great. :) I like that I can dress it up, but I also like that I can slip it on and just walk out the door.
ReplyDeleteI want the rhubarb Fiona--but I am waiting for an additional percentage. I also have a gift card on its way, so I am also waiting for that. Anyone think that we will have 20% off online this weekend??
ReplyDeletePS. One comment I would make is about the waistband. It's sort of like a ribbon that is folded over and sewn on one side. I did a bad job of describing that but basically, it's only sewn on one side of the dress. Depending on the sewing job, it can look great (discreet) or not so great. I tried this dress on several times in the store before finally purchasing it and it would vary from dress to dress on how much the side seam (on the left side) of the dress poked out. Sometimes, not at all. Sometimes the top and bottom of the waist band would poke out a lot, forming a sort of "u" shaped pucker. Hope this makes sense!
ReplyDeletePPS. Sorry to post again, but when I say ribbon, I don't mean that an actual ribbon was sewn onto the dress. The waistband is made of a different knit gauge, it seems, than the rest of the dress and is a bit stiffer. Hope this helps and, again, sorry for the multiple posts!
ReplyDeleteanyone else having trouble with the website?
ReplyDeleteNaomi: Thanks for understanding! I really appreciate it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo can we just call in and say that our local store is having a sale on the Tartine and they will let us get away with it? The Tartine is $69 with 20% discount on most stores right? And 50% at Rockaway?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletess- I bought my Fiona (sweet potato) for $89.99 with an additional 20% off in a store (sweet potato and rhubarub colors were on sale) . I'm thinking-they might be offering an additional 20% online soon too?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Fiona is gorgeous, I LOVE it (pictures online don't do it justice!)
I got the andrea in honey glaze. I need to order 1 size down from the slim fit shirt.
ReplyDeleteNone of the local stores here as 50% off, and I don't live anywhere near the Rockaway store, so I don't think it will work. I still think the Andrea at $125 a pretty good deal, and the inventory of the honey glaze in 6 is low, unless J Crew restock. My local stores are out of them.
I went to the King of Prussia store today, and I noticed that they had a skirt that I haven't seen on the website yet. It comes in at least three colors- I noticed a very pretty pink. It has a box pleat, and looks to be a-line. Very very pretty, with a noticeable sheen, though not as shiny as the sharkskin skirts. I think it's priced at about $138. That's more than I'd care to pay, but I'll definitely buy it if/when it goes on sale. Has anyone else noticed any new merchandise?
ReplyDeleteAnon11:30pm: Me too! I found purple check mini skirts in a shop last weekend. Price was around $100(or more?) but It was sooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteI saw the purple mini, too, I just forgot about it in my excitement over the pink skirt. The mini is really cute! (anon 11:30)
ReplyDeletess - I saw the rhubarb Fiona on sale in Walnut Creek with the additional 20% off. I'm not sure what the sale price is...maybe $129.99? I imagine they will keep the 20% off through the weekend. But that's only a guess.
ReplyDeletesanfranciscoca - I originally purchased the sweet potato Fiona at FP with 20% off, but returned it. The $89 plus addtl 20% is much better! Maybe we'll bump into each other when wearing ours. ;-)
Girls & Guys, please advise what to do with final sale stuff that do not fit... I tryed to return it to the local store but they didn't accept... Do you think if I mail stuff back to Jcrew I will be re-funded?
ReplyDelete3carmelos,
ReplyDeleteI always call the 1-800 # and select customer service. I explain why I want to return it (see-through, color looks different than online, small, large) and they generally accept one of those reasons. Some point out that this is a one-time courtesy. They make a note on your order, and when you bring it back to the store, tell them to just check the order history to find a note allowing you to return it. Works for me every time
I just bought the Simone jacket...I have the skirt that is shown with it....can't wait to wear them together:)
ReplyDeleteJulie
This is a great blog -- just wanted to share!
ReplyDeleteIf you are considering the luxe knit gathered tees on final sale, know that they are cut completely wrong. According to the description and the picture, the tee is supposed to hit at the hip. It actually came way below my hip and the xs (my normal size) looks like a nightgown on me. The arms are the only thing that is xs about this garment.
The airy polka dot blouse is cut strangely as well. I am normally a 2 in tops and this one seems to have 3 - 4 inches of extra fabric around the bust.
I'm going to call CS and see if they'll have pity on me and give me a credit. I've never tried to return a final sale item before and would suck it up if it were just one thing, but two is a little ridiculous.
Someone was looking for the Italian boucle skirt in honey glaze in an earlier post -- it looks like they just put up a few in assorted sizes (2, 4, 6, and 10) on the sale page.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOSH kitschy7
ReplyDeleteI have been chasing this skirt down and I just placed an order! But now there is nothing in my size!! SO FRUSTRATING! I should have given you my email you have been noticing the skirt off and on and I so appreciated it! But I didn't see this comment until now and forgot to look under skirts before I ordered this morning!! Grrr...
IF ANYONE HAS OR GETS AND IT DOESN"T FIT-the HONEY GLAZE BOUCLE PENCIL SKIRT in Sz 2 or 4 let me know! Thank you!! Covert5
ashley--assuming these are the same as the tank version which I love so much got in all colors. I just ordered 3 in the long sleeve-hope it isn't an issue! They sound to be much like a dress:( Can I ask how tall you are? I know the tank version is a bit longer and certainly full (I got xsmall) as well but i have been tucking one corner into my jeans like they show the models and that makes a big difference!
ReplyDeleteI am 5"3 so I am on the petite side, but I do have a longer torso than most petites. Normally jcrew xs is slightly longer on me than the model, but I can usually work it. This shirt is a full 3 inches longer than a similarly cut xs shirt (gathered & drapey)that I got at the GAP at the beginning of this summer. I tried tucking the luxe shirt into pants and skirts but it's just way too much extra material for me to deal with.
ReplyDeletecovert5 - I haven't tried the long sleeve luxe tee, but I have & love the the luxe gathered tank and the short sleeve luxe tee that has a tie on the shoulder. I'm 5'2" and the tank hits below my rear. However, I haven't had a problem tucking it in at all and I'm fine wearing it untucked. It covers the pockets on white pants that are just a tad see-through. I hope you like yours. They're comfortable and I am always complimented when I wear mine.
ReplyDeletegigi (hope you don't mind I always shorten that!)
ReplyDeleteI have the tank in all the colors I love it so much (except the deep persimmon-not a good color on me) FFM introduced this top to me and it has been so comfy and pretty dressed up or down (I am mostly casual--jeans etc.) I love throwing cardi over it--just easy and simple and sophisticated. SO I decided to order long sleeve version but hoping they aren't like a dress! I am 5'7" hoping won't be too big and billowy--if it is--they are going back FS or not. It's a problem when you are ordering xsmall, 5'7" and usually a sz 4 in a blouse elsewhere but J Crew you are wearing 2 and sometimes zero! I am sz 2 in their skirts but not at other stores! I feel for the little people-they are sized out of a lot of J Crew stuff now.
