This is another good offer from J.Crew that works both online and in stores. Great for those of you who wanted to acquire a new Winter coat, as there is plenty of stock available. Although, if you do not need a coat right away... the best deals are in January.

What are your thoughts on this latest promotion? Are there are pieces you are interested in getting?

  1. I wanted a navy Excursion
Quilted Vest, but I see they are ALL gone. Only red & pink are available right now. May have to visit the b&m!

If anyone is headed to the Towson store, call first. As of yesterday afternoon, they didn't have power & had closed early.

  2. Can I get your advice? I am trying to decide between the bright purple Funnel coat and the Neptune Green color way. I do not have access to the B&M stores so I am not sure how accurate the on-line colors are. Has any one seen these two colors in stores? What do you think?

Also, I could use some help with the fit of this coat. Should I take my normal coat size? I do not NEED a new coat so I could hold off if you ladies think a better deal can be had later in the season. Your thoughts?

And with regard to Crewcuts, I am also eyeing a coat or two for my little one. Should I pounce now or hold off?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    1. I have the neptune green funnel coat. The coat runs true to size, in my opinion. I just checked out the color on the website and in my opinion it is accurate. I absolutely love this coat. It is gorgeous- plus it works well for both winter and spring. I have a lady day coat in the purple color which is very pretty, but I feel like a color like the neptune green is much more rare and only comes once in a while...my suggestion would be to go for the neptune green since it's unique (and very pretty and wearable!)

  3. I just bought a coat 2 weeks ago and this sale brings the price down an additional 30$! I am requesting a price adjustment and hoping they don't give me any trouble.

  4. Has anyone else been experiencing longer than usual shipments on their jcrew orders? All of mine in the past have shipped within 1 business day, 2 at the very most. But my last 3 orders have taken 6+ days. My latest one was made on the 21st. I know the holiday was in the middle of it, but still. I just have a fear they're going to come back and tell me the 5 pencil skirts I ordered are now out of stock (my size is already gone from the site).

    1. I live in the SE and usually receive my orders within 3 days, but I've noticed my last 2 orders took over a week as well. I'm assuming they are just dealing with higher than average sales due to the holiday and the delivery folks are catching up with deliveries.

    2. Yes. I looked up some old orders. The shipping said 3-5 days. On my cyber Monday order it says 4-7 days.

    3. Yes. I usually receive my orders within 2 business days, but the order I placed on Sunday hasn't even shipped yet. Bummer.

    4. It has taken forever for my orders to get to me. Like ridiculously long and I'm in the midwest.

    5. Funny - I'm on the East Coast and my orders have all been arriving a day earlier than usual. I ordered a sweater for my son yesterday and it will arrive tomorrow.

    6. Mine have been taking FOREVER but I am in Canada. I placed an order last Thursday and it JUST shipped today (and UPS only says the label has been created).

  5. I bit on the Excursion vest in Herringbone. How do people like it, for those who own it already? I don't own any puffer vests yet, so I'm trying to decide if this is versatile enough or if I should get a solid color instead to wear with stripey shirts. The herringbone pattern makes it a little more dressy. Not interested in the pink or red solid color, so was thinking of popping into the store today to see what they have in stock for solid colors. Maybe the bisque color?

    1. I love my excursion vest and i wear it with stripes too.It is not as versatile as a solid.
      It runs big,so size down.

    2. I have a review of it on my blog. It fits TTS on me, but I have broad shoulders. It's very pretty, and should be versatile enough if you treat as a neutral.

  6. Hi guys! I've never posted here so sorry if I do anything wrong. Does anyone have a code that I can stack on top of the coat sale? My wife wants the wool stadium coat so bad. I'd love to get it but it's also so expensive. Thanks in advance!

    1. Walt T. - There aren't any additional codes right now and there probably won't be during this promo. History suggests you'll have to wait until January to get a more significant markdown, unless the coat goes on sale (price ends in .99) in the meantime and there is also an extra 30% off sale items. Good luck!

  7. I posted multiple coat reviews on my blog this fall. You can search for excursion vest, cocoon coat, double cloth slim trench, majesty peacoat, tipped peacoat, leather tipped peacoat and snowcap quilted jacket.

  8. Hi Folks,
Has anyone reviewed the Toggle coat in wool-cashmere with Thinsulate? I think this might be the only one that would stand up to a Canadian winter.
    thanks :)

  9. OT: The Outnet has a few new (old) J. Crew items and Net-A-Porter is also having a sale on some J. Crew. I'm not sure the prices compare favorably to current retail, but it may be a chance to find things that have sold out.

    1. I think it runs big, I sized down. The only color I've seen it in is the Light Nectar and it's very pretty.

  11. I just purchased the toggle coat in store and may get another because I liked it so much! A classic design and fits perfectly - I sized up so I could layer over big sweaters.

  12. Wanted to mention that I tried on the Collection toggle coat in a size small and it was huge. I could have probably sized down two sizes. And even then, it just wasn't flattering, at least on me. Definitely not worth what they're charging.

  13. This promo came a day too late for me! I have several JC wool coats and I have been wanting to add a Puffer to my collection for our cold midwest winters, but I was on the fence because I didn't really *love* any of the colors this time around (I have two excursion vests and the colors are lovely).

Last night I ordered a LE Luxe Down Parka instead. It is gorgeous and with the % off site-wide plus free shipping, it was $49. I'm serious, $49. For that price, I may even get another color!

    1. You definitely will be happier with the Lands End coat! Theire down coats are fantastic quality & last for many years. I have two plus there is no time limit for returns or exchanges

    2. Thanks for posting ladies! I just ordered one in the sapphire color - used a 40% off coupon and free shipping! Ebates is also 6% right now. :)

    3. I am perusing the Land's End sale outerwear too. The 40% off is such a good deal and so many of the coats are already on sale, and come in petite/tall! The Land's End men's down coat I ordered for my fiance last Christmas is just wonderful, so I am really inclined to try one myself.

  14. First, a vent: at my store you would have hardly known there was an outerwear sale. I saw one small sign near some coats, nothing near vests, etc., and no SA ever mentioned it! Second, they have cleared out their store room apparently for sale and there are a lot of Cece tortoise flats priced 49.99 and 30% off. There were many size 8 and 8.5, don't know about other sizes. Westfield San Francisco store. They also had a lot of small Edies in gray and mustard. Three grays: two in sale area, one in front room in a display up high.

  15. I bought a majesty peacoat last year in January on major sale - totally worth the price! It is such a quality coat, and I can't believe I got it for the price (I think around $70). I can't wait to stock up this January!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes, 30% off sale at my store so that should make up for my vent! Plus they had almost all the sale merch labeled as such. not the jewelry though: the bubble necklaces which are on sale are still in case with no sale stickers...pale pink, spearmint....

    1. Why on earth would JCrew bring the price back to regular amount and then apply the 30% off. That's not right..

I am so glad I bought it after the promo price on top of 30% off comes out to $204 (before tax) is a very good deal. Now comes the hard part deciding between the green Cocoon Coat or the Bow Coat... :-)

I hope the Bow coat works for you...can't wait to see the pics.

    2. JSR: i also got the green cocoon coat (from my B&M) as it's sold out online. and I ordered bow coats in pink and carbernet!!! (have not received yet) I can't decide which one to keep. I should be good and keep only one! I thought I would love the cocoon coat but i am not sure now.. the shoulder/chest area is big and loose. I suppose this is the style of the coat. I hope by bow coats arrive soon so I can make a decision! :)

    3. @ladybug007 - I can't wait to get my coats, too. My packages arrive on Friday. I have a feeling I'll have a tough decision between the green Cocoon and acorn Bow Coat, too.

I get what you mean about the Cocoon coat being loose..I had to size down to a 0, since its boxy cut. Im 4'11 so I'm concerned about the coats weighing me down or looking proportionately big on me, and when I tried on the cocoon coat at a store before, the 0 looked bulky on. With the Bow coat, the fabric is thin enough that I don't think it would look big on me. :)

      Delete
    4. @JSR: I got the cocoon coat in 0 as well but it fit lot bigger than another one I tried on before. I am thinking it was missized? anyhow, i had second thoughts about the green color so I went and tried on the stone color. I loved it too but it's sold out everywhere.. they are doing the search for me- more decisions- why do i do this to myself? :). what size did you get in the bow coat? I ended up getting the 2 but wasn't sure if i should size down. mine has not shipped yet and it probably won't be here until next week since i am in the west coast. please report back what you think about the bow coat!!!

  18. I just received the Stadium Cloth Duffle Coat in the pink color and it's gorgeous! The pink is a really pretty pink -- not pepto or bubble gum or peachy. Love the stadium cloth - nice and substantial. Love the hood -- it's fitted just enough that it shouldn't blow off. I went with my normal size 4 and that worked great with a thick sweater under it. If I sized down, the arms would be too tight. So if you need heavy layers, I don't know that I'd size down. Really love it. Hm, does one need both a light pink and a bright pink (bow) coat? One is dressier, and one is casual, right? ;)

    1. Ooh! Any chance you'll be able to get pics up tonight? I've totally had my eye on this coat but I've been waffling on sizing. Would love to see some IRL pics of this before I order. No pressure though, of course, if you're busy. :)

  20. OT: I picked up the J.Crew Holiday 2012 '101 Gift Ideas' Catalog while at the store today. I have scanned part of the women's and men's sections, and posted them here on my blog.

  21. I acutally went up on my navy duffle coat (which I love!). The 2 (my size in all other things J Crew) fit like the mannequin shots online, but the 4 just felt nicer with a sweater underneath and didn't make the placket flip up when viewed from the side. FWIW, both the 2 and the 4 allowed the excursion vest to fit underneath for when the temps get really bad.
