J.Crew Factory: Get An Extra 40% Off Every Order!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who shared the following news/email from J.Crew Factory with us.

J.Crew Factory is offering an additional 40% off every purchase (no min!) with promo code XOFACTORY. This offer expires Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

As some of you might remember from the "J.Crew Factory Exclusive Early Access: Shop new ar..." post, this same code was originally good for an additional 30% off. Not sure why J.Crew decided to bump up the discount to 40%, but it is gladly appreciated! For those who placed an order with the 30% discount, try calling J.Crew to adjust the difference. It is the same code, so it is worth a try for the additional savings.

Have you received this email? Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

  2. I would like to say, as someone who has been stalking factory for the last week or so, the item prices for this promo are really increased to the point that the 40% off isn't as good a deal as when it was 30% a day ago or even during cyber Monday. Just an fyi :)

  3. Hi all, I check this blog from time to time but don't usually comment. However, I felt compelled to share a recent email I recieved from J.Crew's customer service after I emailed to complain about an order I had placed through the We Will Find it For You service. I placed an order during one of the 30% off sale promos but the store that shipped my order did not give me the 30% off. I also mention my increasing frustration over associates not being on the same page as far as final sale, teacher discount, and price matching. I was very pleased with the response, not only did the rep refund the 30% immediately but she also sent me a $30 gift card as well as clarifying some of the policies. Here is part of her response:
"Regarding our teacher discount, we used to only honor it on full and promotionally priced items. However, as of last year, we now honor the 15% discount on sale items. Branded or partnership items and wedding styles are excluded from this promotion. We are unable to combine it with other promotions except for free shipping.

I'm happy to say that most our sale items are no longer considered final sale. There are only a few final sale items still listed online. Final sale items will have a sentence appear in red after selecting your color and size. They will also be labeled final sale in your shopping cart. Factory clearance items that end with $.99 are labeled final sale.

Quality of our product and our customer service is our number one priority. I am sorry to hear we didn't live up to that standard. I’m very sorry for any confusion regarding the pricing in our retail stores. It is always up to the store manager as to whether they will honor an online price for items sold in the store. I will be sure to share your comments with the appropriate team for further review."

  4. I feel compelled to share this critical information with fellow J. Crew shoppers.

When I saw the 30% off promo yesterday, I immediately had my eyes set on the Cece flats. However, during checkout, a red alert appeared on top. It read something like "WE CANNOT SHIP CECE FLATS TO CALIFORNIA. PLEASE REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR SHOPPING CART."

This confused me as I was able to order a pair two weeks ago. It didn't make sense. That's when I called J. Crew customer service to find out what's going on. It turned out the Cece flats (leather and suede) contain a HIGH level of lead content that was over the California's limit. And then I was told the shoes can still be shipped to the other states. What the heck?

I don't know if others are aware of this and this is why I'm here to spread the word! Buyers, beware!

    1. Wow, that is disturbing. J. Crew needs to fix that! Makes me look at the pair I already own differently!

    2. err...there's lead in my cece flats? now i kind of don't want to wear them without socks... anyone who knows anything about shoe manufacturing, why would there be lead in shoes?

    3. Lead is one of the compounds used in the preparation of synthetic leather, which is made from plastics. Lead helps to keep the material pliable. It's also used to make bright pigments in synthetic leather.

The lead is likely in the synthetic lining and/or sole of your Cece flats. Another good reason to purchase all-leather shoes.

    4. That is so disturbing to me. Thankfully I don't own a pair of Cece's. But it makes me wonder, if I did, is lead coming off wherever I walk or could it leach into the skin? Yuck - Scary.

  5. They won't ship the glitter lula flats either.

  6. Hi! If anyone makes it to a Factory store over the weekend, I'm on the hunt for the Factory Fairisle sweater in a L or XL. It's white with black stars/snowflakes along the neckline. There are 2 factory stores near me but both stores are completely sold out and it isn't available online. Any leads would be greatly appreciated! I tried it on the day before Thanksgiving & now I'm kicking myself for passing it up. Thanks!

  7. this is kind of a vent but i am REALLY not happy with factory right now. placed an order on the 25th but it's still in "released." i asked CS about the order and was told it would be shipping friday. well, friday came and went and still not shipped. so i asked again and was told it'd be shipping today. well, now i got an email about one of the items being cancelled because they didn't have enough even tho it says it's still in stock online. WTF? now i'm worried about the other stuff in the order because those really aren't online anymore and those are the gifts for my niece. so needless to say i will NOT be ordering anything from factory for a while.

    1. This happened to me on the regular site last week. But the item that supposedly was cancelled still showed up as in stock on the website. I called and they shipped me out that item separately as a new order. it shipped and I got it no problem. Their inventory is just messed up.

    2. When I called and asked, CS maintained that it wasn't in stock. So she wouldn't add it back to the order. It's just really annoying. Maybe if the sales keep coming and the rest of my order arrives and is all correct, I'll try again.

  8. The Factory colorblock pencil skirt (21814) is $49.97 in-store + addtl 30% off sale items. Items in the Ashbury floral print (I.e. buttondown, pencil skirt, Jules dress #98697) are all on sale + 30% I didn't catch any prices.

  9. I'm fairly new to J Crew, since it only recently came to Canada. I'm all shopped out with all the recent promos, but NEED the polka dot Toothpick jeans and navy stretch Perfect shirt. I need advice from all of you more "experienced" JCAs: should I pick them up now with the WINTER promo, or wait a better promo? Help!

    1. If you love the items and are comfortable with the price point, then go for it. Add in a little item, eg socks, to bump the total up to $250 for the 30% discount. You may be able to get them at a better price when they go on sale with an additional promo but keep in mind J. Crew usually brings back final sale not long after Christmas.

  11. First I wanted to say I love this blog. I too took advantage of the 40% off but was very disappointed in the customer service I got from the outlet in Woodbridge, VA. I tried on a skirt and needed a smaller size. One sales associate told me they had no more and walked away from me. I'm bout to leave the store and I decided to ask another sales person if another store had the skirt since I was totally in love with it. The sales girl was nice and found it at another store after she seemed to be confused on what she was doing and had me waiting for about 10 mins at the front, but when she called the Leesburg store they were busy and asked that my store call them back to do a send sale. I begin to give my sales gal my info and credit card and she is like I can call myself. At that point I'm like... WTF!!! I was expecting customer service and for her to arrange everything for me since I was in a rush. After I explain to her of what i expected and she can call me if she needed anything else she said ok. So I left giving her my info and told her to call me to give her my credit card number. To make this story short.... The Woodbridge, VA store never called me. I ended up talking it upon myself to find a store that had the skirt and got my skirts to be sent to me. I'm totally disappointed and will be contacting JCrew to make them aware of the poor service I received. The money I spend there is just as available as anyone else's.
