Details of offer are subject to change.
It is always nice to see another promo over at J.Crew Factory! Especially one that seems to apply to both regular and sale priced items. :)

As some of you have already noticed, J.Crew likes to play games with the prices. What do I mean? A lot of the prices have jumped up, so when you take the additional 30% off, it is priced similarly to last week's promo (or worse).

For example, last week the Factory Intarsia Fair Isle Sweater (item 22935; was $88.00) was priced at $61.50. Thens customer could take an extra 20% off (with the HAULPASS promo) to bring it down to $49.20. Today, the sweater is on sale for $84, and with the extra 30%, it brings it down to $58.80. Something to think about...

Will you be taking advantage of this promo? Are you loving the new Factory site from J.Crew? Did you pick up an item or two? Please share! :)

  1. Nice that they are offering free shipping no minimum. I just picked up the nail polish art kit for my daughter that has been soldout for a while (waitlisted but at least it is supposed to ship before Xmas).
Question: do things popback on the factory website?

    1. Ema, they do. I check the factory sale section every morning looking for the polka dot top in yellow in my size, and they do seem to add popbacks regularly, if not every day. A few days ago there was a HUGE update and I got a few popbacks that I thought were long gone. It seems to happen at the same time as the regular site.

    2. Thank you! Another site to stalk...

  2. Per usual, the prices might be better in-store plus the coupon on the sidebar, if you're able to go. I.e. the sequin draped tee is $68, but was $39.99 over the weekend.

  3. I have one item on my list, but it's back-ordered.

    Some reviews here.

  4. Interesting, the cashmere sweaters are $10 less than last night! Surprised the price went down, not up! Anyone know what the cashmere pricing is in store?

  5. Could anyone comment on the quality of factory cashmere sweaters and merino turtlenecks? Are they more scratchy than the retail version? I am sensitive to wool, but retail merino turtlenecks don't seem to bother me - any comparison between factory and retail would be appreciated!

    1. I have 3 factory cashmere turtlenecks from last winter and I love them, I have not found them to be itchy at all. They have washed and held up very well. I have not noticed any pilling. I wash all my cashmere sweaters in an HE front loading machine with the laundress cashmere soap and then lay flat to dry. Works like a charm! Hope this helps!

    2. I think merino sweaters from factory are about the same quality as the ones in the regular store. I didn't find them itchy at all.

  7. Rose, I can't get reply to work, but I am interested in the Factory Stripe Dress that you just reviewed. Did you feel it fit TTS? Thanks much!

    1. Leah, I think it fits TTS to large. I am 5'6" and have broad shoulders and fitted into a size S.

  8. I ordered some straight &narrow jeans hoping they are the matchstick style like in retail. I don't like the polyester that they added to the retail classic rinse matchsticks so I thought I'd try factory.

    1. I just bought some. I think the quality of the denim is great...it's quite thick, imo.

BUT...the pant leg is quite wide. Wider than the retail matchstick jeans. I feel like mine are almost bootcut, which I unfortunately do not like. Mine will likely be going back.

      But they do fit TTS.

    2. Thank you, phoebe! Glad to hear of the quality but disappointed about the fit as I too want the matchstick fit for width and not a boot cut leg.

    3. When I was in a Factory store last week I noticed that they had a Matchstick with a skinnier leg as well as a wider/boot cut leg. I'm not sure if there was signage to verify this or if I just noticed. I tried on the skinnier leg in the store.

    4. I have a pair from about 10 months ago or so. They aren't wide so much as oddly shaped at the ankle. The pair I have are a bit stretchy and the ankle seems to flare out a bit, I think from the stretchyness. In any case, I just tapered them a bit on my sewing machine, about 1/2 - 3/4 of inch narrower just from about 5 inches above the hem to the hem. Now I love them! Of course, that's a pain to have to do too...

  9. Always love a good discount...speaking of...is it true that teacher discount doesn't work on wedding anymore?

    1. They started shipping them out November 8th, and the bank is sending them out in waves. If you want to use it online, just call J.Crew, and they can apply it to your order. And if the bank hasn't made the money available for yours yet, they'll just put a note on your account, and you'll be credited the $$ when it becomes available.

  12. I called a Factory store bc a sweater was sold out in my size online, and the same sweater was 40% off in store...shipping is $8.95 though, so it'd be a better deal for more than 1 item or a pricier piece. The 40% off in - store was at the Castle Rock store in CO.

  13. Went to the Las Vegas Factory Store yesterday and almost everything was 40% off.

  14. has anyone compared the factory draped shift dress and the Jules dress? They look very similar though the factory one is described as falling 'above knee' whereas the Jules is mid-thigh. I had ordered the factory one a couple of weeks ago but am contemplating on returning it and ordering the Jules in heathered wool, only because I've never seen a review of the factory draped shift. Anyone??

  15. I posted this in another thread, but am also re-posting here, since this is a thread for factory. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I just received the retro jade Jules and love it --- the color, the fit, the length (I'm 5'3), everything. I also got the gray Factory Jules dress, thinking I'd love that too and not wanting to pay the extra $20-30 for retail. However, the factory dress has a seam that goes all the way across the back horizontally (it continues on the front where the pockets are). The retail dress has the horizontal seam on the front but not the back and it is so much more flattering. I was going to return the factory Jules and buy the retail one in gray, but checked the online picture just to make sure --- and it looks like the retail version also has that seam on the back!

Can anyone who has or has tried on the retail Jules dress in gray tell me if it has that seam on the back? I can't figure out why it would, since the retail Jules in retro jade does not, but want to make sure before I order and return the factory version. Thanks!
