"Thanks!" to many of you, including Cynthia F (in this post), simplydreaming (in this post), as well as Maria, who let us know about the following promotion.

It is always nice to see an additional percent off available online. Even though the email specifically states it is not available in B&M stores, I am wondering if they are also offering an additional percent off for the week.

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for letting me know it was sitewide that this promo applies to! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

    1. Men's suiting is excluded, sadly. :( I can't believe they include Collection but not men's suits. I guess I may not be buying my husband's suits here anymore, since I can find similar quality for cheaper elsewhere.

  3. I just did a test check-out and, as Amelia notes, it is 25% off any order of $150+ with free ship, not just final sale.

    1. (original)Genny - Corporate offices are affected by Hurricane Sandy. Lots of technical issues, not to mention whatever store & office damage that has occurred. My vps said she can't get into her email and there has been limited communication with hq. I'm sure this is why we haven't seen any updates to the sale section all week. We're lucky to see this online promo.

    2. My notes (LOL) indicate Final Sale ended on November, 3rd last year (today), although there were still some lingering final sale items. Gigi is right, that horrible storm is likely screwing up the end of final sale. I can't believe I look forward to the END of Final Sale as much as I do the Holiday season.

  10. Well, how about that! They might snag me on this one. I have the Classic Link necklace and the wool houndstooth scarve in my bag. I don't need these things (or anything really) but I gotta do my part for the economy. HA!

  11. Can anyone comment on how the CrewCut boys wool Bowery Pants fit? My son needs a dressy pair of pants for Christmas and I was looking at these. Are CrewCuts TTS or small fitting?

  12. Great promo! For anyone interested in a review of the Lilabeth Dress I just posted one on my blog today.
With the 25% reduction the price on it is great, though it is final sale.
I love this dress so much I bought it in THREE colors. It fits slightly small in my opinion, has a higher set-in waist (which I find forgiving of my stomach) goes to the knee and I love the sleeve length. The silk taffeta is lustrous and the acetate lining is done really well. Fully concealed back zip, side pockets.

  13. Does anyone have any opinions about the Excursion Quilted Vest in Herringbone?

Worth it on a discount? Worth it at all?

    1. Sorry, to be clear, I've already seen some reviews on this from bloggers (or pictures of them wearing it), but I wanted to know if it was worth the price in your opinion.

    2. Phoebe, I love my herringbone excursion vest. I recently wore it with the merino turtleneck in warm burgundy. It also looks cute with a belt around the waist. The pockets are deep and easy to use. They're a good function for me since my diaper bag often sees more action than my purse. I can drop my keys & phone in & out easily. Worth the sale price, imo. HTH

    3. I agree with gigi,it is totally worth it.
I have worn mine multible time and esp. love that it is not puffy.

    4. Totally worth it. This past week was chilly in GA, and I wore it 3 times with 3 different outfits to walk the dog (it's the only time besides weekends that I get to wear fun clothes instead of work clothes, haha).

  14. There are items I'd like from both retail and factory (to reach the $150 minimum), but the fact that you can no longer combine carts means I won't make the factory purchase, and I'll have to buy a retail ride-a-long... frustrating.

  15. Has anyone tried the Macalister flat shearling lined boots? I'm choosing between those and the wedges, but with an infant I feel like the flats would be more practical. Are they worth the price?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I haven't tried the flat Macalister, however I have the wedge and was surprised how easy they were to walk in. The wedge does not really feel that high.

      Delete
    2. mamakoh - I walked in the Macalister shearling wedge boots last year when my daughter was 2, 3 months old. Was able to push the stroller & everything w/no problem & I'm a first time mom. They're very comfortable.

      Delete
    3. mamakoh - the flat shearling lined macalisters are nice but not worth the price, IMO. They are a little manly looking and the shearling isn't that plush (compared to my shearling boots from Costco, which are 10x nicer). I got my flat shearling macalisters last year for super cheap on final sale, and even at that price, I ended up selling them because it wasn't love. I had the shearling lined wedges also, which were too small and did not come in my size, but I managed to try them on once and preferred those over the flat ones.

      Delete
    4. Thanks everyone! I ended up getting the wedges at my BM and you're right - they're not high at all! I find it hard to believe they're a full 3 inches. I could wear them all day walking around with my baby. Thanks for all the input! Love that there's fellow fashion-conscious moms here :)

  20. I'm thinking of getting the Double-Cloth Metro Coat with this promo. It's the "big item" on my wish list this season. I love the way it looks in the photo. But JC coats have been hit or miss for me, so would love to hear any comment from JCAs who own it. Does the Thinsulate make it bulky at all? How do you like the look and fit? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wore my green Double-Cloth Metro Coat from last year yesterday and got several compliments. I loved the coat so much that I also got it in black. I'm a pear shape and I find that the coat fits really well. It comes in nicely at the waist and I think the length (right at my knee, I'm 5'5) is perfect. I live in a cold climate so the Thinsulate is a big part of what sold me on the coat. It does not make the coat bulky and really does make a difference in warmth.

      Delete
    2. I don't have the double cloth metro, but do have the double cloth lady day coat with thinsulate, which I believe is similar. The thinsulate doesn't make the coat bulky at all, but does make it pretty heavy IMO. It never stops me from wearing it though :) I think the double cloth coats tend to be a bit more fitted than other wool coats jcrew offers so I would go up at least one size from your usual top/shirt size if you plan on wearing sweaters or scarf underneath. HTH!

The Macalister wedges were already 25% off in my BM, so I got my hubby a pair of Macalisters also and got another 25% off the whole thing. I think that brought my pair down to $112 or something like that. Score!

My husband and I who only have time to shop together a couple of times a year with our work travel schedule and part time living overseas had a rare moment to go out last night together as daughter was at a dance party and did most of our Christms shopping. I would like to finish with JCrew but this final sale nonsense has got to end SOON! No JCrew near us to go to in person....

  34. I'm excited about this sale!! Can anyone comment on the chiffon dot top? A personal shopper found my size in the Dublin green but I haven't tried it on so am wondering if the color is as pretty as it looks online and also how the fit and versatility. Also has anyone been able to use the online discount with the "we will find it" service?

    1. I actually tried it on at my b&m and it's really cute! I love the green color - pretty close to a kelly green, if I remember correctly. I'm really hoping to get this when/if it gets marked down. I'd say TTS, to maybe a bit large, but pretty TTS, if that makes sense. At first I really liked the Hothouse better and bought that, but ended up returning it. I think the chiffon dot top is more versatile.

    2. Hm, just looked at AJC's review. I didn't remember it needing a cami. That must be why I was more drawn to the Hothouse top. It's still cute, though!

  36. Can anyone comment on the fit of the stadium cloth duffle coat? My usual size for shirts is M/8, but I generally size up to a 10 for coats. Does this coat run big or will I be ok sizing up to a 10?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I tried this in a size 10 (my usual size for shirts is M/10). I thought the coat ran large. I like my coats roomy, but this was too much on me. The same size in the Double-Cloth Slim Trench fit me perfectly. The duffle is probably supposed to be a big roomy style of coat, but I sent it back.

      Delete
    2. I have it from last year and I can agree that does seem roomy-- I bought my normal size 2 but only after failing to score a petit size which I think would've fit me better. I guess final verdict would be don't size up.

  37. This code finally pulled me in. I ordered the No. 2 pencil skirt in antique white after seeing how amazing it looked on Tabitha on her blog. I hear the wool is thinner this year which will actually suit me well since I live in a warm climate with minimal cold weather.

I also preordered a colleciton item. You can all mock me now, I'm ready for it :) I am going to try the reverse tuxedo cafe capris. They're a bit off which is probably why I'm drawn to them.

  39. I was hoping for an opinion on the heart pave bracelet vs. the heart bracelet. I can't decide which to buy with the promo! I was thinking about the heart pave bracelet because it seems to be selling well at my B&M and it's one of jenna's picks. Someone please help!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. AD MD - I have seen both bracelets in-person. Unfortunately, I haven't tried either one. I thought the pave heart was unique. Plus, J Crew does pave really well. I was going to order the pave online, but I had a store send it to me with another item to reach the promo's $150 minimum. The SA told me it was the last one. It's definitely selling well in the b&m. The gold one looks so plain in comparison and I figure one can always be had at Juicy, although it would say Juicy on it.

    2. Thanks Gigi! I think I'll get the heart pave bracelet--before they're all gone!

  43. I really want to try the sterling skirt but am completely befuddled as to what size to order. Currently I am an 00P in the pencil skirt and I would love it if the sterling skirt flared the way it does in the model but I have not seen it flare like that on any real life people. I am wondering if sizing up would help or whether I should order a bunch of different sizes?

Oh, btw, if anyone is interested in the collection tropical lime italian wool dress a whole bunch of sizes popped up today (from 4-14).

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Flower Power - The silhouette of the sterling skirt has changed from the 1st release. It doesn't have the flare that it once did. From what I read, the more hips you have (hourglass), the less chance you have of the skirt flaring out. If your build is more straight up-and-down, it might do it a little. I found it to fit like a more comfortable pencil skirt. Not a bell, not a flare. More like a fuller straight skirt, if that makes sense. Pics in this post and links to reviews by AppGal, Shop With M & Tabitha.
