Last Day to Treat Your Self!

Today is the last day J.Crew is offering an additional 25% off SITEWIDE and free shipping (on orders of $150+) with promo code OURTREAT.

Even though the fine print initially stated it was not available in stores, it soon was. That was a nice move as some items were better priced at brick & mortar locations.

On a random note, every time I look at this code, all I can think about is a Park's and Rec episode where Tom and Donna enjoy an annual "Treat Yo' Self" spa and shopping excursion. (Click here to catch a quick glimpse of what I am talking about.)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

  1. The lady jacket in corkscrew tweed is kind of winking at me. :) Pics here.

The store still had the sale going on today.

  3. Just what I was hoping for.....Madewell is having a 25% off orders $150+ with code WOOHOO plus free shipping sitewide until the end of November 12. Maybe I'll get those Archive boots?

    1. Thank you for the heads-up. I just ordered the peeble sweater and cardigan and the apres-ski dress.

    2. YES! GET THE ARCHIVE BOOTS. I purchased mine on the last 30% off promo and I love them. They are an amazing steal at that price. You open the box and the leather smell just wafts out. And they are a VERY pretty warm, reddish brown. They are also perfect on my calves, and I have very small ones that never seem to fill out boots.

    3. Agree, looove mine! Great quality, and comfy. They work on my chicken legs too.

    4. Me three, and I have skinny calves too.

  4. Is anyone else having trouble accessing the site? Every time I try, it won't load. Hmph. And there was another giant update overnight. I got one glimpse, tried to sort by price low to high and now it won't load at all. GRRRRR.

  5. They pushed the new arrivals date back to tomorrow.

    1. I find it aggravating that customer service was telling customers that new arrivals would be out tomorrow for the 25% off site sale.

I woke up hoping that I would see new arrivals and be able to purchase at a discount.

  6. I just ordered the elusive cafe capri in camel plaid that popped back in a 0. Not sure that they will ship and I probably need a 2 since they are lined but at least I can try them and see if I like them. I wanted them since they appeared on the website but they disappeared quickly and the stores haven't received them. There "could" be another pair ....

    1. Ema, I got mine last week and love them. I ordered my normal size 2 in cafe capri pants and they fit perfect.

    2. kms423, good to know. I seem to be in between sizes in the cafe capri this year, so I cross my fingers that the 0 in these will work (if they ship!)

    3. Ema, glad to know it is not just me. I am having size issues this year too. This year's wool cafe capri fits smaller that last year. The 2012 navy ones fit tighter in the thighs than my fuchsia and camel from 2011. Makes me nervous to order on fs.

    4. Yes, I received the navy ones (that I had ordered back in the summer and shipped in October from the 2012 crop) and they were too tight in a 0. Reordered them in a 2 and they were too loose (they looked old-ladish). I ended up returning both even if they were a great deal. I thought that since in the meanwhile I got the velvet toothpicks in navy I didn't need these so badly to put up with the fit.

  7. The Hacking Jacket in jade will be mine! The removal of final sale and the slight reduction in price made me decide to pounce. I really want the new Hacking Jacket in mink (that is camel with the navy trim). But will wait until it goes on sale and if it doesn't . . . well then. But the green is gorgeous and I really wanted a green coat this week and don't have one.

I had to pick up the Schoolboys in herringbone. The prices are so, so, so low. It will be months before I can wear them. But this summer I really learned how a nice jacket can spruce up an outfit, and while I don't love the herringbone version, at this price, it's hard to say no and I know I will wear them.

And then, there are a few tees.

Well, I've done my part to help JCrew recover its numbers.

  8. I ordered a couple of things for my oldest son, and may place another order for my three youngest boys later today. I already purchased the items on my list for myself with previous promos, otherwise I would take advantage of this one to get them.

For those interested, I have the updated lists of promo-priced items for the women and men on my blog here. There were a lot of new additions this week, too.

  9. I bit on a pair of flats, the lilac bow collection top and the collection leopard blouse, which came off final sale so I was willing to give it a try and give it a try!

  10. I hadn't planned on it, but I used this promo to buy a few things: sale belt, sale stripe long merino cardigan, and the poppy grove super 120's pencil skirt (these are so perfect for work, year-round). I also bought a pair of Bennett chinos, and I love everything about them except for those stupid on-seam pockets that pouf out. I hate those things, I'd rather have a slash pocket or no pockets at all. And yet, I keep whining about it instead of just sewing them shut. Must add to to-do list....

  11. Darn it, I caved. I held out all week but then the Everly's in electric plaid popped back in my size so I got those and then of course the electric plaid blouse. Then I bit on the archiever boots from Madewell too.

Also I too woke up looking for new arrivals today! Boo JCrew!

  14. Does anyone know how long the 25% off promo will last in stores, and if there will be any extra % off this weekend? Thanks, JCAs!

  15. I had purchased the sterling skirt in autumn coral on this sale and just got it - love it! I was worried about the style re-design (I have a charcoal sterling from last year), but it still works for me.

So, flush with my success, I just used the OURTREAT code one last time, to order the sterling in heather acorn (a great basic, and with the discount, $81, so a good price) and a jackie in vibrant flame.

Jcrew really made some money off of me on this promotion - I bought several skirts and sweaters, all basics, but in lovely colors. And basics in lovely colors is what Jcrew really does well!

  16. I would also love a review of the Cashmere Ribbed Sweater.

  17. I'm seriously considering ordering the (petite) Keeper Chambray Shirt, but my hesitation is that my shoulders are comfy in a size 6, while the rest of me is more a size 2. Any comments about sizing?

  18. are the new items online tomorrow? Has anyone heard?

  20. Can anyone comment on the fit of the Hacking Jacket (jade) vs Schoolboy? Same?

    thanks!

    1. I take the same size in both. I find the Hacking Jacket a bit more substantial-just in the the way it's made-but flattering. Then again, I don't find the Schoolboy unflattering, if it's wool.

  22. Just bit on the French hen boy shirt and the no. 2 pencil skirt in mauve blush. J. Crew, you're going to be the death of my bank account.... :)

  23. So my first OURTREAT order arrived....

The Tippi sweater in navy/mint stripes is just darling. Took my usual size XXS - arms were a bit tight and the torso a but loose but the wool is so comfy and I finally understood why Gigi loves the neckline so. Just a note - the stripes are not just navy and mint but there is some purple! Not noticeable from the website but a happy surprise. The whole thing is just darling.

The purple merino v-neck sweater was a huge fail. The wool was lovely - thin and not itchy - and the color was gorgeous but the neck and torso was enormous on me and it was just way too long. Plus, the wool is too thin to wear alone - you can see the bra outline - and the wool is so thin that it would be hard to layer a tee or a tank under it with bumps and lumps showing through. I think you need to be at least 5 foot 6 or 7 to wear this sweater.

Next up - black stovepipe trouser. My normal size was a little tight - so I recommend sizing up in these. Unlined but not itchy - but the wool seems thin. I thought about ordering a size up - but then I saw on the package that they are actually the cafe trouser - just renamed! Tricky tricky J.Crew - but I have a super 120s cafe trouser one size up from last season when I wore a bigger size so.

Finally, the sterling skirt. I ordered it in three sizes - my normal 00P, then 0P and 00. 00P looks like a slightly A-line pencil skirt. 00 looks swingy and really A-line - similar to what it looks on the model (not exactly because I am short and not as skinny as a model). The 0P was a complete disaster - made me look hippy and dowdy and all kinds of awful.

So, I am debating between the more fitted 00P and the swingy 00. I took some pictures ...anyone want to help me decide? If so, please email me at florapower9@gmail.com and I will send you the pics. I would LOVE your advice.

  24. Was just at the Charlotte (southpark) J. Crew and when I asked the SA if I could stack the student discount with the 25% off, she was pretty rude and just said, "no." I then replied, in just an offhand manner, "oh, I was only asking because I had heard that they were doing that at other stores" to which she just shrugged her shoulders. I didn't say anything else and she rang me up. As I was walking out of the store, I noticed that she had applied the student discount instead of the 25% off! I returned to the counter and she said, "oh, I told you I couldn't stack them. You want the 25%?" HELL-O!!! Of course I want the higher amount off. I feel like she was being deliberately rude and, if I hadn't been so stunned by it all, I probably would have voiced this to her!!!

  25. Just received my final sale Ankle Toothpick in golden sunflower. I can't believe how off-center the zipper is in front! Does this count as a manufacturing defect that is eligible for a return? I've never bought anything Final Sale sight unseen before... :(

    1. I think you should try it--I had such bad luck with the ankle toothpick in golden sunflower. I tried three different pairs in 2 different sizes. I ended up returning all of them. Something must have been of with this item.

  26. I would say it counts as a defect. Take it back and tell them it is defective and you want a refund.

  27. Thanks, I will give it a try! Hopefully my Toronto store will accept an online order return. The color is so pretty, but the zipper looks so wrong.

  28. I purchased the green excursion vest for $60 during the promo, secretly hoping it wouldn't work out. Ugh. It's such a pretty color...and the vest is so perfect for fall and winter. I also purchased the schoolboy blazer in red for $100 as a means to get my total up to $150. Bad idea to choose an item you actually really want just for that purpose. I fell in love with the blazer and the vest :(

Versatile pieces no doubt, but I've been shopping a lot lately with all these sales. I'm so conflicted.
