J.Crew Factory: Get ready to score big (and get up to 50% off everything)

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news: J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) will be offering up to 50% off everything during their Black Friday blowout sale (running from November 21st through the 25th). Plus, customers can get $25 off their purchases of $125+. This offer ends November 21, 2012. The fine print includes:
*This is not a coupon. Prices as marked. Offer cannot be redeemed for cash or applied to previous purchases. Offer is valid in J.Crew Factory and crewcuts factory stores from 11/21/12 through 11/25/12. Offer valid while supplies last. Details of offer are subject to change at any time.

**Valid through 11/21/12 at J.Crew Factory and crewcuts factory stores only. Present a printout of this email to redeem offer. Valid for one transaction only per customer per day, and printout must be surrendered upon purchase. Store associates: scan bar code for discount. Merchandise total must equal $125 or more before taxes are added. Offer is not redeemable on previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards.
J.Crew Factory is also extending their store hours for the holidays. To check them all out, click here. By the way, I saw some stores are actually open on Thanksgiving Day. This makes me incredibly sad. I feel bad that those workers have to come into work, instead of spending more time with loved ones. :( I remember having to work on Thanksgiving (& other holidays), and it is not fun leaving the family table early. I wonder if Mickey and Jenna have to go to work on Thanksgiving Day too...

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory Winter offerings? Will you check them out?

  1. I am appalled that some of the stores open as early as 8pm on Thanksgiving! But, I think that the actual mall sets the hours; J.Crew has no control over it. Still, it's ridiculous. Black Friday is out of control.

    1. It's most definitely J. Crew's decision, not the mall's. When I worked there all the associates were angry when we opened at 11pm (so at the store by 9pm)while the big wigs got to be at home with their families. J. Crew now has many stores open on Easter, too. If the mall (or any store in it) is open now, so will be J. Crew.

  2. The one thing I actually miss about working retail is having to work bizarre hours around holidays and subsequently having an excuse to get out of annoying family drama times, haha!

  3. Do you think they'll have some valentina's for sale? I really want to know, since it's the only thing on my mind right now! But if they don't... Well, not going!

    1. I don't think Factory sells a version of the Valentinas. In my own recent experience, J. Crew is the lone store at the mall that offers very little in the way of deals on Black Friday. YMMV, that's just what I've seen.

  4. Wow it must be quite the nightmare at the shops over there, I think I'd stick to online shopping.

  5. OT, but anyone with a crewcuts near them... Have you seen the girls jeweled snowflake sweatshirt in person? I was considering it as a gift to my pre-teen niece, and was wondering whether it's good quality, how it fits, etc. Any review would be helpful. Also, is it on sale in stores yet? I hate the inconsistencies between stores and online. Thanks for your help.

  6. I wonder if I can use the 30% off of $200 (or 20% off $125, if I don't make it to $200) discount card that expires 11/21/12 instead of the $25 off $125 if I go on 11/21...did that make sense? I'm not that far from a Factory store and will try to get there next Wednesday.

    1. you should be able to. I used my 30% off $200 today while the store is doing 40% off. Figured I would hop on the guaranteed 40% vs an "up to 50%."

  8. OT - Did anyone notice JC finally reverted back to keeping the category listings on the left, even when you view a specific category. Hitting the back button when I was done browsing was a pain! They might just be listening to us!

    1. Yes finally! That was driving me nuts. Here's hoping they take some of our other concerns seriously as well aka lack of reviews, unlined pants, and no combo shipping between factory and j.crew just to name a few.

    2. yes, i mentioned this in another thread. a small victory but a victory nonetheless! i also hope they are listening and working on tackling our other concerns, but this particular change was only reverting it back to the way it was and does not cost anything. the same can't be said for most of the other issues, so i'm not hopeful.

  9. I didn't get the email, is there a link to the print out somewhere?

  10. Has anyone noticed that the site is awful on Chrome now? I can't view my cart or add things to it half the time!

  11. I went to one of our local Factory stores yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the majority of the merchandise. The Factory Puffer vest is very similar to the retail Excursion vest, and if my size had been available, I probably would have gotten one. The quality of the Factory schoolboy blazers are also very good, and a nice option if you do not want to pay the $$$ for the retail version. There is one in pearl grey sold in the store, and I actually prefer it to this year's retail version. That being said, I do prefer the retail version of the Navy one though, and would recommend that you splurge on it if you are considering one this year.

I ended up getting the Factory skimmer in plaid that many JCAs have recommended and agree that the quality is good on them. I sized up from my normal size 2 to a 4 because I want them to be less fitted due to the pattern of the plaid on the hip/thigh area (which is my 'trouble' spot). I also got a pair of the Bootcut cords in black for around $34. The entire store was 40% off and they allow the educator/student discount on top of that, or else you can use the coupon Alexis shared from an earlier post to get $25 off if you spend at least $125.

I did end up finding the tees for my 3 youngest boys that I was looking for, and they are not any different than the retail version that I saw in the Tampa retail store's Crewcuts section last year.

Oh, and I also want to mention that the Factory Vero clutch is very nice IRL. They only had the black on though, but the leather was soft and definitely worth the price with the extra % off.

  12. Could not resist the factory merino puffin sweater. So soft and cute.
