Take an Additional 30% Off Sale In J.Crew Stores!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Pretty Addicted (in this post), as well as Sally A (in this post), who let us know the following promotion...

J.Crew brick and mortar (B&M) stores are offering an additional 30% off their Sale merchandise!!! Not sure how long this offer will run, but hopefully for the rest of the week. Plus, it means that online might be offering something similar soon too.

Is your local B&M store offering the additional percent off too? If so, please share! :)

  1. I went last nite and didn't see any new cuts. Maybe tomorrow there will be some. Same old, same old. I can't believe some of the things that are still hanging out.

The stores need to make a strong -- and I mean strong -- effort to get each and every single sale item ticketed with the correct sale price. As a shopkeeper I absolutely would not tolerate what I see in the sale section. The striped merino scarves are in the sale section with not a sale sticker on them. Customers don't have time to wonder if something was mistakenly put in the sale section. They don't want to guess. They don't want to take the time to find a salesperson, if one is even available. It's too easy to shop online or shop in other stores that have employees who are clear on promos. Stores that have items clearly marked with the correct prices, clear promo signs EVERYWHERE and a clear return policy PRINTED on the bottom or back of the receipt.

    Get on it, J Crew.

I know, belongs in the vent section. ;)

    1. I agree. It's embarrassing to look like a cheapskate and ask if something has been marked down. Most of us frequent one store and are known by the staff there. I want to know when I decide to purchase somethIng what the price will be before I get to the register! This is especially important during the holidays if you have a set spending limit for each gift recipient.

    2. I went into the store today for a return, and saw some new items being put out for tomorrow's roll outs. They apparently are going to be online in the morning according to my VPS. I picked up the 2012 Holiday catalog as well. Already ordered a few items, lol, with my personal shopper today. The 30% off sale is ending Thursday night at closing, they told me in the store. Perhaps new items are moving into sale for the weekend??? PS I cannot reply to this blog or make any comments unless I go to Google Chrome browser. Wish I knew why.

  2. While I love all the recent additional sales and discounts from JC, I have to admit to being a little JC shopped out. Which is wonderful timing, because the holiday rewards cards have started rolling out.

  3. As of this afternoon, my store has all of the same old stuff in the sale section, and I too am feeling pretty shopped out by this point in the season. In general, I didn't really see anything in store I wanted that I haven't already purchased, so I just made a return (Pixie pants in navy which, sadly, fit me awfully) and picked up a feather and jewel headband from the sale section.

On a separate note, it's finally cold enough in NYC for me to be wearing the Collection coat dress for the first time and I am in love! So glad I snatched it up during a promo because it is so cute, so warm and so comfy! The price point is bonkers, even with a promo, but I have no regrets.

    1. Also agree about ticketing the sale items - the headband I purchased, while extremely cute, was $24.99 less 30% and if I'd known that before I got to the register, I likely would've put it down. Mind you not one of them was ticketed and all of the other headbands on sale which were ticketed were priced much lower.

  4. I just came from my B&M in downtown SF. Saw the silk boy shirt in heart throb on sale online, and I just had to buy it at the store, since it was offering an additional 30% sale items. So I was able to get it cheap by stacking my student discount. It came to $53.54 before tax - pretty good!

Lots of cotton tops especially, and cords and matchstick jeans...looks like the same sale items. Also lots of shoes-Two strap Monas, Flats..I didn't get to see which size of what was available. Also lots of that Invitation clutch in polka dot camel, and yellow little Edie purse.

I too am all shopped out from their recent promos. My wallet needs to recover.

  6. I stopped in today to make some returns but didn't have time to look around, unfortunately. I did manage to pick up the J.Crew Holiday 2012 '101 Gift Ideas' Catalog though. I have scanned part of the women's and men's sections, and posted them here on my blog.

    1. Thanks for sharing FFM! The J.Crew in SF didn't even have that catalog out. Cute items...

    2. I picked up the catalog today, and I think it's weird that so many of the items featured in the catalog are already on clearance.

    3. Thanks for all the work FFM!

Hey, are we expecting new items tomorrow? It looks like there are a few things in the catalog I haven't seen (maybe I'm not paying attention)?

Also, has anyone tried the Collection Circle Skirt in Navy (or grey dots)? I'm interested in this skirt, but its only online.

  7. And OT, but does anybody have any silk cleaning tips? I remember reading that some of you hand wash your silk. I bought one of those gorgeous Blythe blouses in polka dot and want to avoid dry cleaning it because of chemical intolerance. Do you think I can hand wash it?

    1. Anthro Blogger, I machine washed (HE top loader in a mesh bag) my polka dot blythe and it came out great. I had to steam it a little after but yeah, after my recent machine washing successes, I will never dry clean a blouse again!

  14. At "my store" yesterday the same cashmere sweaters in the sale section that have been there for weeks. Now add'l 30% off with FS in tiny print. A lot of the same stuff is there, the rest of the store doesn;t really say Holiday or Christmas.

Not many decorations in the Mall either. Are merchants really cutting back this year?
