"Thanks!" to Desert Flower (in this post) who let us know that she got J.Crew's Spring Look Book in the mail. She also shares that "it's women's wear on one side and you flip it over to view men's". A very cool concept. Slastena also confirmed that she got the latest Look Book and even shared a few images over at her blog (check out her "Spring 2011 Look Book.." post).
So keep an eye out for the Look Book in your mailbox! {yey!}
Incidentally, if you are interested in seeing the images for Women, they were posted back in November's "J.Crew's Spring 2011 Look Book is Here!" post. For your convenience, they are posted again below.
I love every look!
ReplyDeleteWow, unfortunately I do not like most of it!
ReplyDeleteLove the long skirts, love the graceful slacks, hope the ikat print appears in something I can wear, but leather shorts? For spring/summer? Oh, right, forgot about my embroidered suspenders and feathered hat from drama camp… the hills are alive with the sound of music...
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of it. The white jacket and top in look 1, dress 3 won't be long enough for me but I love it, the pants in 4, the shoes in 11, the jacket in 12, the jackets in 14 and 15, the skirt in 16, the shoes in 17. I'm amazed there are so many pieces I'm interested in since I've been less than thrilled with recent roll outs.
ReplyDeleteI honestly cannot wait to see the individual views and add some of these items to my closet.
It's a bad sign when many of the photos make teeny tiny models look heavy.
ReplyDeleteThat said, a few of the individual items I love - especially the long sequin skirt. With a form-fitting black top that would the chic-ist outfit ever.
Looking forward to some of the sandals, and the blues, and even the bright pink and orange are starting to grow on me. I LOVE SUMMERTIME (as the bright white icey snow brightens my view and the steady hum of a snowblower plays in the background).
ReplyDeleteOh man I know it's "icy"...
ReplyDeleteI like a couple of the skirts, that's all. What's up with the ankle socks with the orange one-shouldered dress? I like ankle socks with certain looks, but definitely not this. And the dress looks like one of those apres-shower terry wraps. :) I'm the world's biggest fan of midi and max skirts, but J Crew's don't look right to me, the fluid one is too formal, and the other one looks too sister-wife. But oh J Crew, I know you will suck me in with your beautiful sweater collection again this year, as you have every other year. :)
ReplyDeleteCan we please be done with the slouchy socks with sandals look. I can't take it anymore.
ReplyDeleteI haven't received the lookbook and I hope to get one soon since I've received in the past.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue hues and hope to see more wearable items than the jumper.
I'm eager to see what shoes and bags JC will come out with.
Love the wide-leg trousers with the slouchy blouse and the chino pencil skirt. LOVE!!! WANT!!!
ReplyDeleteAll in all I like what I'm seeing... When is the next rollout?
I've been obsessed with the cropped trenchlet since I saw the lookbook (delving in the J Crew sitemap). I think I can forego buying annnnnything else but I want that one piece! (unless I find a trench thrifting that I can alter appropriately!) Actually, I really like the multicoloured sandals in the slouchy-olive-outfit shot.
ReplyDeleteI like the wide leg pants and the blue sweatshirt/sweater. I think I have virtually identical pants in my closet, so I'm thrilled to see them back for spring.
ReplyDeleteOT but Michelle Obama was looking great wearing the Corvara cable cardigan on her birthday yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove spring can't wait to see what's in rollout tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSub
ReplyDeleteOoh, jcrewlove, thanks for the heads up about tomorrow's roll out!
ReplyDeleteThis does not look like the J.Crew I used to know and love. :(
ReplyDeleteToo funny, has anyone watched Fashion Police with Joan Rivers? The show cracks me up....there is a segment they do called "Gotta Have it/Make it stop" where the panel debates various trends and decides if they are "Gotta Haves" or they want to "make it stop".
ReplyDeleteThe look book clearly has some of each..."What's up with the ankle socks with the orange one-shouldered dress?" Make it stop!!
"Love the long skirts, love the graceful slacks" Gotta Have it!!
OT....I am missing DaniBP today, I read her every day. Gotta Have It!! I hope everthing is OK, and if you read this Dani, your blog is inaccessible at the moment.
Does anyone know when rewards cards should come out? thanks!
ReplyDeletewbrigitte: Dani is taking some time off this week to "edit and tidy" her blog. I was able to access her blog through my blogger dashboard. HTH!
ReplyDeleteOT regarding the lookbook, but relating somewhat to missing bloggers...
ReplyDeleteAnyone know what happened to Pudding & Post-Fab Princess? About a month ago her blog went by-invitation only, and I don't see her blog on Alexis's list anymore. I hope everything is ok?
Thanks jcrewphd, I am able to access her blog now. Appreciate the info.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if they started hiring attractive models again. I really liked 2008 and 2009. There are some nice separates in this collection but overall, I'm over a lot of what they are pushing- the slouchy socks, the short-short skirts and shorts, and the mishmosh of different color layers. Try and walk around the city like that. People would assume you were homeless and wearing all of the clothes you own! Also, the idea of the lookbook was copied from the MaxStudio website. They still have the best one online!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I was not all that impressed. There wasn't really much of anything I just HAD to have... Which is probably a good thing as this recent sale killed me..
ReplyDeleteRegarding a rollout, I work at a B&M store in Northern California, and we're getting a big spring rollout tomorrow! I think there should be new arrivals on the website tomorrow or Thursday as well.
ReplyDeletecurious as well Cliquot!
ReplyDeleteEveryone see the email about the wedding dresses up to 60% off? Makes me want to take mine out and sell it... does anyone keep their wedding dress?
The American Observer, I'm not familiar with MaxStudio but lookbooks have been around for at least 10 years. I remember seeing them in certain stores when I was in high school.
ReplyDeleteAs usual with any lookbook I have mixed feelings about the offerings. I try to look past the styling to see individual pieces that would work in my wardrobe. Loving the pinks and blues and hope to see more. I would love a bubble gum pink Jackie twinset please!

ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the spring rollout. I already know that I want the blazer in look #1 as well as the short sleeve chambray skirt in the last look.
ReplyDeleteCan't find anything to like, but I'll wait to see the individual pieces.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble with the midi skirt look. It is such an unflattering length and reads sister wife to me too (that phrase makes me giggle).
The hair is a disaster. It's not even editorial-interesting, just bird's-nest-mess.
oh, and clicquot, PFP went off-line in the fall (I think?) She posted here to say she was OK, just taking time off. I miss her too!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the looks. Luckily, I already have the 'bizarre messy hair' look down pat, so I will just need to add a few new items to my wardrobe :)
ReplyDeleteI kid. I kid. I think they look darling. I especially love that orange ikat skirt and top. It will look great with a tan! (and my super messy hair!!!)
