  1. Love my Minnies in 'cabernet.' I've been wearing them with the Cece's tortoise patent leather (styling idea here) and with my Booker booties from last year.

  2. Showing some love to my Factory two-pocket chambray shirt. The cotton is soft and surprisingly good quality. I also prefer the color wash and the feminine tailored fit to the retail Selvedge Chambray shirt.

    1. how do the factory shirts fit in comparison to the regular perfect fit shirts? all the factory shirts are letter sizing and the regular perfect shirts are number sizing... i don't live near a factory store to do returns easily and i've gotten burned with the factory returns/exchanges before. (i'm a size 2 in the perfect shirts... so XS in factory?)

    2. A size XS factory shirt fits me like my regular JCrews in size 2, and Factory small fits more like my regular JCrew 4s.

    3. Miss JR, I also take a size 2 in J. Crew regular button down shirts and thought that the size XS in Factory was the best fit.

  3. Wondering if anyone know about sizing on Bow Monde dress? i'm usually between 2 sizes!

    1. I tried it a couple of years ago when I was in a friend's wedding; J Crew occasion dresses usually run small, to me, but I remember it being more TTS. I might still take the larger of your sizes if you are in between. FYI, it was SUPER short (shocker!). I am very tall and busty, so the combination of lots of leg + a low neckline (straight across, but fell low on me)made it feel like a dress I could never comfortably wear to a wedding. However, I thought the bow was really pretty. Just beware of final sale--maybe chat and ask for measurements? HTH!

    2. Thanks for the help! Good call on chatting for measurements! it looks so pretty, but such a risk with final sale!

  4. I've always thought that J. Crew does color really well--I'm loving all of the greens in this most recent rollout. The Hothouse Floral Blouse print is absolutely stunning in my opinion, and the Chiffon Dot Top in Dublin Green is equally adorable.

  5. I love the recent free shipping at Madewell. I just placed my first and second order with them. Prior to this, I had bought just one top during my first and only visit to a Madewell store. The closest store is 45+ minutes away. I didn't want to risk paying for shipping and possibly returning.

And, I love that I was able to find a Mini Meerkat sweater in the size I wanted, on sale. Imagine how Surprised I was when my popback item actually arrived (quickly), has no visible defects, isn't final sale, and if I needed to return it -- Free Returns.

I stumbled across it at 5am Sunday morning when I woke to early and couldn't fall asleep. My best popback ever! Hmmmm....maybe that would be an interesting post: Best Popback.

  6. Visited the Rockefeller Store yesterday and picked up the Collection Crepe Shawl Collar jacket. I would like point out that in store, this jacket is $199, and with the discount, I think I paid something like $135. It got the hot pink color. It is gorgeous. I found the fit a little loose around the waist and almost sized down, but the 0 was tight in the shoulders.

Online this jacket is still something like $235.

I also caved and bought the graphic jeans at full price. I just wanted to start wearing them now.

I am wondering if anyone out there has bought a Hacking Jacket in the caramel or the green and what you think. The NYC stores seem not to have carried the Hacking Jacket in these colors--or perhaps I just missed the jackets when they were in stock. They are on Promo now online and with the discount are at a reasonable price (I think).

I tried the HotHouse Flower blouse and loved it--like everyone else, though the silk is thin and I would beware of loose threads if you decide to purchase one for yourself.

I am awaiting more Liberty Shirts to go on sale. I picked up the one in D'Anjou print--I am the one whose SA accidentally gave me the 30% discount twice, so the shirt only cost me around $50.

    1. I really hope the SA didn't have to make up any descrepencies from her [pay check for the 30% X 2 error or got in big trouble with management for her error. Sorry but I would not brag about this anymore.

    2. I agree. I would go back and say something. Couldn't sleep w/ that.....

  7. I really love the Boy Shirt in Snowcat. I mentioned in the latest review post that I bought it based on the recommendation of another JCA, and I can't remember who it was, so thank you!!! It goes with every solid-color skirt or pant that I own, so I'm going to be able to wear the heck out of it. Took my usual JC size 8 in Boy Shirts. It's only $24.49 right now with the 30% off FS promo, too.

  8. My VPS pre-ordered the Lady jacket in Klein Tweed for me (not on-line yet. a huge thanks to A JC Shopping Habit for the detailed review back on Sept. 27 with style number!!). The jacket arrived yesterday and it is beautiful! The colors are spectacular - it will go with my skirts in retro jade and festival blue (and, of course, black). The jacket fits TTS. It has a Chanel-esque look that works well for a pear shape like me.

  9. I have to say j.crew does online returns very well. I like that they process items quickly and send an email confirming. I do sometimes call ahead and let them know I am returning items if it is a big return, but they are always super nice about it.

And again, I can't say enough good things about my fabulous online VPS. She is super helpful. Good for me, very bad for the wallet :)

  10. I bought the new navy paisley Libery Print shirt. I love it! It's the same print as the Indian red shirt, which I also own. Overpriced, yes, but I still love it. I rationalize that I'll wear it a lot and the cost per wear will be less than a cheaper shirt that I won't wear much.

    1. it is gorgeous. praying for a promotion soon!

    2. If you love the print, the cost per wear will justify it all the way.

  11. I know I'm in a minority here, but I love the sandwashed silk shirts. Even though the cut is swingy, they lie down nicely under jackets and sweaters. They run a little small in the shoulders/chest, so if you're in between sizes, you may want to go up. They're down to $34 minus sale now!

  12. Really love the featherweight sweaters (cotton, not cashmere). Nabbed the pink one on final sale and loved it so much, bought 2 more. They are so flattering alone (the lighter colors require a cami under), but have enough room and lightness to layer, especially in a place like Houston. I've worn one at least once a week.

  13. re sizing Factory vs Crew
I think Factory runs smaller sweaters for sure, Jackets about the same

  14. Help with sizing on the felt wool mini...do they run small, please?
