  1. I know others felt differently but I'm liking the long sleeve tweed dress a lot. Received it yesterday and wearing it today. I'm surprised to see that it's actually lined! I find the fit to be just like the Teddie dress but straighter and slimmer from the waist down. Very happy with this purchase.

At the risk of negating my love with a mini-vent, my success with the tweed dress makes me feel a little better about spontaneously buying the zigzag sequin dress in store yesterday since it was final sale and turned out to only flatter me in the lighting of the store dressing room. It already has strings hanging just from trying it on and the sequins are falling off so I may *try* to get authorization to return it on the basis that it's defective. We'll see. What's weird about the fit of the zigzag dress is that it's cut disproportionally large around the hips and thighs, at least in my size, and when I googled it last night to see the image on the model, she has one side of the "problem area" covered with her arm and the other with her handbag. Interesting.

  2. A big thank you - my daughters and I were outfitted head to toe in J Crew for a family wedding last weekend. We all looked fabulous. Even my dress-averse daughter was thrilled with her attire (and she wants to wear the dress again!).

  3. This may have already been discussed--check your account sign-in page. Last night I placed a "musthave" order that came to $90 after the discount. (And yes, a conservative cocktail dress with sleeves was indeed on my fall list per the FFM plan!) I was surprised to see that shipping was deducted as well.

Then I went to the account sign-in page and saw this message: "As a special thank you, we will be offering some exclusive benefits throughout the year. To make sure you are taking full advantage of each and every perk, check your email and sign in to your registered J.Crew account each time you visit jcrew.com. Today, please enjoy free standard shipping."

    Hooray for perks!

  5. Had I not been reading this blog this morning, I would never have noticed in today's Factory email that the free shipping for Factory First members applies to retail too! I'm so happy because I've really wanted the Tippi colorblock cardi in the camel black combo but since it's only $41.99 with the current promo and I've placed so many orders recently, I really didn't want to pay shipping or find $133+ worth of additional items to avoid the shipping charge. Thanks, fellow JCAs, for letting me know I didn't have to!

  6. I received a shipping notice for the Blythe dot blouse -- so happy to see that!

Also, I received the wool ruffle-neck dress from Factory (the Madeline remake) and really love it. It's just really cute and I love that it even has pockets. So thumbs up for that one.
