J.Crew Cardmembers only: shop the latest with 25% off and free shipping

"Thanks!" to JRuby18, JRSConnelly, & Danielle (in this post), Susan (in this post), as well as Andrea & Yvette, who shared some news about an email sent to J.Crew credit card holders.

J.Crew cardholders should be receiving an email for 25% off *and* free shipping (any order! no minimum!) with a unique promo code (one time offer). This offer expires November 11, 2012. It is unclear if you have to use your J.Crew card as payment.

I just want to say, good move on J.Crew's part! It is nice to see such a perk to card holders. Yey for all those with the email!!!

Did you get the card holder email from J.Crew today? If you are not currently a card holder, do you think this promotion will entice you? Please share!

Random Side Note: To all fellow JCAs impacted by Hurricane Sandy, please be safe!

  2. Hmm, I am a cardholder and I got the last promo, but not this one yet. Instead I got an email about coats. And I am ready to do some damage while I'm cooped up inside due to Sandy. Hopefully it's making its way through the Interwebs to me?

    1. I got the coat one first, then a while later the promo one. Hope it's on its way to you!

  3. Stay safe, Alexis! Also holding out hope that the storm won't be too bad...doesn't look like it'll be *as* bad in Boston.

I'm not a cardholder but it's about time J.Crew does something like this for cardholders. I've been holding out on getting one because it doesn't seem like the benefits are worth it.

  4. Any chance someone doesn't need their code? I didnt get one :(

  5. I received the email this morning and just want to point out that it makes it look like this is not intended to go to all cardholders, as the subject line reads “for (top) cardmembers” and the body of the email goes on to say that “top cardmembers deserve top style… for our best cardmembers at J.Crew.com: Enjoy 25% Off and Free Shipping on one order of your choice between now and Nov. 11th.”

    1. I'm a clearance section bottom-feeder, and I got the "top" cardholder email as well.

    2. LOL, Rosie, same here. I am definitely not a "top" cardholder, unless they have some interesting criteria for such a distinction.

  6. Ah, the explains it then. Well like I said, I'd really appreciate a code. There are some in good company items I've been dying to buy, but they normally only work with card member coupons...

  7. Stay safe. I went online to do some hurricane shopping. I signed up for "Factory First" when I went to check out, the site picked up the promo but not the free shipping. Called customer service. The rep told me I needed an additional email address to get both the free shipping AND the discount. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not getting this through my head!

  11. Stay safe, Alexis. My family is all in CT as well and they recall the 9 days without power all too well after last Halloween's storm. The ocean has flooded the road before and after house up here(ME) and so we are on an island for a bit!

If anyone gets a code they won't use, I would love to "borrow" it from you!

    Thanks!

  17. Alexis (and all of you other JCAs on the East Coast) -- be safe and try not to do TOO much online shopping when you actually do have power!

  18. I am a cardholder, but did not get the email.
I did a chat with an online service person, and while they could not send the code to me directly, they put a note "in my file" so I can get the promotion when I am ready to place an order.

Out of curiosity, for those who didn't get the email, are you Gmail people? Because I am, and I am starting to think that this is the problem.

I do not, for example, get Anthro cardholder emails. I get the general emails, but nothing for subscribers. I've gone back and forth and back and forth and back and forth with people at Anthro--finally corresponding with some VP directly--about the problem. And the assumption is that Gmail has a filter system that prevents these kinds of emails reaching customers, even when the customer subscribes to Gmail.

So, Alexis, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't know about the promotion at all. Thank you so much. And hope this is helpful to someone.

    2. I use gmail and get all my emails too. Did not get this one bc I am no longer a big spender.

    3. Hi Unknown, I'm having the same problem with Anthropologie! I got a similar response from their team. I can tell you the problem is a little deeper than that -- likely the problem lies in their email database with their distributor, which I believe is Cheetahmail. (Cheetahmail is the biggest email deployment service.) Gmail isn't preventing anything from being delivered -- if they were, it would affect other subscriptions as well. I wish Anthro would go back to their old provider, who never had problems like this.

    4. I use hotmail, but I NEVER get any JCrew emails --- ever! I am a cardmember and have not gotten this promotion email or the last one. Everytime I ask, I am told that they'll enter my information again, but it never works. At this point, I just keep up with this site and don't expect to get info in my email.

  22. I use gmail and have received promo codes such as this one, so I know for me, at least, gmail isn’t at fault. Also, though I’m a frequent shopper, I certainly could not be one of the biggest spender cardholders. I wonder if frequency has anything to do with being a “top” cardholder (I suppose those frequencies do add up however, and maybe I deceive myself into believing that frequent under $100 purchases don’t amount to much ;) )

  24. ive done some serious damage lately using my j crew card and did not receive a code.

who knows how they decide the criteria for sending them out. it doesn't surprise me at all though.

  25. Just found mine in my spam box! So it's worth checking there if you have a good filter on your email account. I would have never known about the email promo if it weren't for this amazing blog - Thanks JCAs!

  26. Wishing the best for JCAs, friends & families on the East Coast.

  27. I received this promo! I am a cardholder, although I wouldn't say I'm a big spender. I buy pieces here and there, although I do pretty frequently?

    I dunno.

  28. My thoughts and prayers are with all the JCAs on the East Coast dealing with the hurricane. I hope you are all safe!

  29. OMG Alexis, I sure hope you are not impacted by Sandy! Be safe!

  30. Be safe Alexis and to fellow East Coast JCA's.

I didn't receive the promo code, but tried complaining through customer service about spending a lot and never receiving the email about a card member promo. Sure enough I got a response from customer service. They said once I place an order on the phone they'll give me the promo, and that I 'have' to use my J.Crew card. I wasn't given a code to use, they made a notation through my email addy.

I actually don't use my J.Crew card when buying online, since the interest rate is high. I only use my card with the lowest interest.

So I guess if you ask, they'll give you the promo.

  33. So far, so not so bad with Sandy. Hope everyone else on the East Coast fares as well. Spent the day simultaneously online shopping and glued to CNN. Now that I'm about done with both, I realize that I have a couple coupon codes that I do not need. They are for J. Crew Factory.

    20% off $125+: FPCR6GH7C
    30% off $200+: FPDRM9RNU

    Both expire 11/21/12

Curiously enough my verification code is 188 untouch.

  35. hello, Alexis and JCAs, checking emails and following CNN while travelling, hope you will all come through this weather nightmare unscathed. Speaking of unscathed, of all things, the cardholder code email came through! On gmail! So now I know what I have to do to get one - go to France during a monster hurricane. It really shouldn't be that difficult.

  40. When I log in and checkout, I still get a "you've been pre approved for a jc card" even thought I already have one and use it constantly. Do you think the email list peeps don't know I have a card already? Bummer.

  41. If anyone has a code they aren't using I would so appreciate it. I placed an order with my code, but forgot an item. J Crew wouldn't allow me to add to my order, and the code is for one-time use. PavB96@aol.com
    Thanks so much

  42. I haven't gotten the code yet :( I do have a card and am a pretty loyal customer, I tried sending J Crew an email to ask about the code so we will see.
