J.Crew Factory: Extra 25% off sitewide

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Silver Lining (in this post), as well as Paula, who shared the following promotion for J.Crew Factory.

J.Crew Factory is offering 25% off on all orders online with promo code MOREPLEASE. This offer expires Tuesday, October 30, 2011. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid at jcrewfactory.com only. Offer not valid at J.Crew stores, jcrew.com or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 25% off discount applies to items on jcrewfactory.com only. Offer valid through Tuesday, 10/30/12, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code MOREPLEASE. Offer not valid on phone orders. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
This is the type of promotion we usually do not see too often since it applies to both sale and full priced merchandise. Me likes! :)

I love the new Factory site layout (way more professional and pleasing to shop than the older version). However, I have to echo the comments that many of you have already made: it would be nice if J.Crew could consolidate their regular, Factory, and Madewell sites into one shopping bag like Gap does (for Gap, Banana Republic, etc.).

Will you be taking advantage of this promo? Are you loving the new Factory site from J.Crew? Did you pick up an item or two? Please share! :)

  2. I would be ordering but the code I have (mentioned above) is better and prices on the dresses I need to order went up with this promo. Bah!

Anyone have comments on the Factory Origami? Would a taller person be able to wear this?

  3. How does sizing run? I am usually an Ann Taylor/Loft girl and I wear an extra small in their tops but don't know how that translates as I only have J Crew shoes and jewelry so far.

    1. I think the sizing is similar. I mostly wear and xsmall at both stores. I do go up one size in blazers - I take a 0 in Loft blazers but I take a 2 in the J. Crew blazers.

  5. Ordered another pair of the skimmers. They are similar to cafe capri. The good news is that the factory version is lined! I wear a 4 or 6 in the cafe capri depending on the fabric and I take a 6 in the skimmer. I think the skimmer might be a touch wider at the bottom than the cafe.

I will say that the price changed - yesterday it was $42 and today it's up to $54 but with the 25% off it works out to be the same. The price of the herringbone version remains the same as yesterday $64.

  6. Well I WAS going to use the code to buy the factory version of the envelope coat - except the price on that went up as soon as this discount came out. Typical.

  7. I'm very tempted with the free shipping and this code but I'm between sizes and quite busty so I always feel better if I can try it on first. I'm hoping to make it into one of the factory stores this weekend and use the code I received in the mail if i decide to make a purchase.

  8. Has any petite woman ( size 00 or 00P) tried the factory skimmer pants in 00? How is the fit? Also how are you all able to get free shipping? Thanks!

    1. Hello, I am 00P and is ver rare when I find pants that fit at JCrew... Factory items in OO are large so I quit buying any pants there. HTH

  9. Can anyone comment on the merino factory sweaters? The ones that look like the Tippis?

Also, just wanted to let people know that Madewell is offering 25% off sale + FS over $100. I ordered some things since it's not final sale.

    1. I bought one at a factory store on Thursday. I was wearing a retail Tippi that day, and the factory version looked and felt identical in cut and quality. The only difference was that there was no breast pocket. Like the retail version, the factory version is 100% merino wool. With an in store discount plus a 30% off coupon, I happily snapped one up!

  10. Jruby, the factory merino "Tippi" is very similar to the B&M Tippi. I have two that I purchased in store and it would be difficult to tell the difference. The trim on the black factory merino that I ordered online is slightly smaller than the ones I got at the store and the regular Tippi. I hope this makes sense. No one (except maybe a JCA) would ever notice this small difference.

  11. Can anyone comment on the MacAlister wedge boots vs. the Factory wedge boots? Loving the MacAllister but I can't bring myself to shell out $200 for them - I'm wondering if the Factory copy wedge boot is a good substitute.

    1. I purchased the McAlister wedges when there was a rare %off regular price orders, so I got them for about $150. They are beautiful and the detailing really justified the still fairly high price to me. I have a friend who purchased Factory look-alike boots from Target, and they very closely resemble the Factory wedge boots, but at an even lower price. I think the Factory wedge boots are fairly outrageously priced for what they are, while the actual McAlister's are a better justification if you're going to spend $100+ dollars on the boots.

    2. The retail MacAlisters are nicer, but I'd decide based on how much I'd wear them. If you love them enough to wear them a lot, go for retail. If you're not sure of the style in general, buy Factory or a knockoff.

    3. Thanks JCAs! I think they are so cute for a casual weekend shoe to wear with jeans. I may have to bite the bullet and hopefully have my PS order with the student discount. The Factory ones look cheap online and I was afraid they would also look cheap in person, which I think is the case. I haven't ever had any luck with Factory shoes!

  12. Won't be shopping since I just placed a large order with my 30% off code that came in the mail - I actually received a promo! Almost keeled over in shock. Anyway, the items just shipped so I will review them once they arrive. I ordered a merino pullover in gray, the stripe pullover in flame/navy that I didn't realize at the time is a wool blend - something I'm always wary of - but hopefully it'll be ok, a double serge pencil skirt, two tweed skirts (the black and white one and the one in brown and red tones), the Charley sweater in polka dot and a cashmere cardi in sea salt to replace an identical one from a few years back. The prices were so good with the additional 30% off, I figured why not.

On a completely separate note but with regard to promos and things we receive by mail, I just noticed the other day that the limit on my JC card went up since I've begun using it again quite a bit which I hadn't in a very long time, yet they still haven't sent me a new card! No biggie but I just find it funny that they're sending everyone new black cards and I have the same old green one I opened in college (and mind you I graduated in '01). I think me and the green card will be together forever ;)

  13. I have two factory promo codes for anyone who would like them (good through 11/21 in store or online):

    20% off $125 FPCZST2AW
    30% off $200 FPD9E4PJW

    Enjoy!

  14. Has anyone seen the factory hacking jacket IRL? Wondered how the quality and fit compare to the retail herringbone and/or hacking jackets. Thanks. I have a serge hacking, but don't know anything about the factory blazers.

  15. I think I will bite and get the FACTORY PENCIL SKIRT IN DOUBLE-SERGE WOOL. I have it in the blue but have a hankering for the purple.

  16. A week or so ago I placed a Factory order for the waffle infinity scarf in ivory, the infinity stripe scarf in black/white, and the classic crewneck cardigan in black. I was really pleased with all of the items, especially the waffle infinity scarf which I think is so beautiful. I popped online today thinking about ordering it in another color--however the price has jumped from 29.50 to 39.50! So, with the 25% off that Factory is now offering, I would be paying .13 cents more than I would have a week ago (the price on the other scarf went up $5 and on the cardigan $10) Why, oh why, does the Factory store think that this is a good approach at building loyal customers??

  17. Hi, was wondering if anyone could comment on the sizing of the Ryder boot?

  18. Can anyone comment on the Factory pea coat? I was tempted by the sale plus extra percentage on the retail version in orange, but I knew in my family that would inspire too many deer hunting jokes. I really like the color of the purple in the Factor version but am worried about the blend and quality.
