"Thanks!" to Marietta who shared Crewcuts latest email. J.Crew sent an email featuring Girl's Everyday Dresses (click here). I won't lie, I love all of the dresses featured. I especially love the second dress (from the left) which is the Girls' Linen Stripe Tuxedo Dress (Item 15673; $69.50). It's too bad its Catalog/Online only, because if I saw it at a store, I would totally try it on (as a top of course)! ;)
They are also reminding us that J.Crew is offering free shipping on all Crewcuts orders with no minimum. Only Crewcuts items are eligible for this offer. (So if you have non-Crewcuts with Crewcuts items in your cart, only the non-Crewcuts items will get charged for shipping.) This offer expires 5/31/09.
Happy {crewcuts} shopping!
I love these dresses, but I know how fast these darling rugrats I call my kids grow, so I only ever buy the pretty dresses or precious shoes on sale. I can sort of justify their tees and tops at full price as those get a lot more wear.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post, Alexis!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteDo you ever post your own J.Crew ensembles? The best part about the shop is that almost anything goes well together, even from year to year. I'd love to know how other people J.Crew.
I have a 19-mo old boy and am thinking ahead, trying to decide if I'd shell out for crewcuts for his Christmas Eve service outfit. I'm with dinagideon -- they grow so fast, it seems like a bit of a waste. I'd be curious to hear what others think of the quality.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is tallish and very thin and can wear her Crewcuts for at least two seasons--we get three seasons wear out of shorts! It is well worth it for me to buy Crewcuts for her b/c the style and quality cannot be beat. My friends daughter is the same build and it is nice!
ReplyDeleteI have even taken pants that are too short and made them into capris and shorts and we get even more wear that way. (only child no one to hand down too)and the adjustable waist is great. I made shorts out of all her size 5 pants and she now wears a 7 in full length pants!
I have purchased 2 crewcuts items for my 6-yo daughter. But they both (skirt and longer knit dress) will last for a good 2 seasons. So far I have been really impressed by the quality and - most importantly - washability. And they are just darling on her, too!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell this story. Crewcuts offers a knit dress made like their tiered ruffle skirt that is just adorable (not online). I saw it and told my sister about it, figuring she would also like it. When she and my niece , who's 7, were down there, my niece pestered her about the dress - made her take her to the dressing room so she could try it on. She didn't want to take it off - she told her mommy that she HAD to have the dress. So, my sister bought it (yep, paid full price!). They continued shopping and my niece couldn't wait to find a bathroom so she could change into the dress. :) Then, someone in every story commented on how cute the dress was. I just laughed - wish I'd been there to see and hear my niece.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, they do make really great knit dresses, as well as dressier dresses, although we only buy the knit ones.
I have been buying more and more Crewcut clothes for my 7 yr old girl. She looks darling in them. They are well made and very stylish in general. I buy most things on sale, but at times, if I think she will be wearing the item often, I pay full price.
ReplyDeleteNever have I ever bought CC at full price. Not that my dear daughter isn't worth it, but I'm just a stickler for lower prices. But at two and almost a half, she's well immersed in the crewlade already. I've been getting her lots of stuff at the end of season sales, like cashmere shells in every size up for thirteen bucks apiece. The girl's Riley jeans are awesome and look great on, and the dresses are all great. I got her a silk shantung dress to wear as a flower girl next month for twenty five dollars, and it is absolutely beautiful. I really think the CC stuff is quality, and always super cute! (It also makes it easier to get cutesy mom-daughter looks going on. I DON'T make us "match" but we do have "coordinating" days!)
ReplyDeleteAnyone know when the CBS/Mickey Drexler - J.Crew segment is supposed to air? I'd read it was this morning, but after Tivo-ing the whole episode (I couldn't sit through the whole thing) I didn't see it.
ReplyDeleteI've bought a few pieces for my toddler, all on clearance for the next year's wearing. The quality is really great, as is the washability. I like the styles they offer and wish they offered some in the womens' line!
ReplyDeletewas wondering if any petite-sized adults have tried fitting in crewcuts dresses? i'm an XXS/XS and i own an elastic-waist crewcut skirt in XXL. it's a tight fit when i wear it low, but just right if i wear it at my natural waist. this kind of makes sense to me, because jcrew size 0/XS is too big for me. but i love these little crewcuts dresses and would love to know if they'd fit a small adult as well. i've never seen a crewcut dress in the largest size in person, so i've never been able to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter who's 7 sometimes wears XXL or 10 because the shoulder is not too wide. Skirts? I think I can too, but tops...no I don't think so. I have narrow shoulders and I'm 5'3". My daughters dresses look too small for me
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they had such cute, casual dresses for children. These are adorable. I've always loved their womens dresses.
ReplyDeleteOther than bikinis, one of the most loved clothing by women is the dresses that can fit on any type of figure. stoner emojis
