Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring Sale, or to see some new Summer arrivals {wahoo!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm really tempted by the Melody dress. Has anyone seen it in their store in a size 2 (any color or fabric)?

    ReplyDelete
  2. I LOVE the melody dress! I own it and highly recommend; it's TTS for me. I have not seen it in the B&M but last I checked they had size 2 in stock online.

  3. PS- I love your SN, it's so true..

  4. Thanks Kendra!

Good to know about the Melody dress IRL. What color do you have? I love how it looks online. Super cute!

And yes, my screen name is the story of my life. :)

  5. Neverenoughcardis,

The melody dress is darling. I posted a review of it on my blog in case you are interested in the fit :)

  6. Can someone let me know if they find the Jayne (120's) dress in an aqua in the store...how much it is? I know the tea rose color is marked down, but don't know about the aqua -- fingers crossed....thanks!

  7. Semi-PV: Your post inspired me to get the dress!!

Neverenough: I have it in the pewter and love it!

Wow it's late; I really should get to bed! : )

  8. Kendra,

So happy that you are happy with the dress! It's so lovely and I'm sure you look fantastic in it. Btw, I don't know what I'm doing still awake either :-/

  10. Desperately looking for the Cotton Poplin Sydney dress in Navy - Size 8. If you see it please let me know!

    Marymoo86 (at) live (dot) com

Went yesterday and South Point had a bunch of the capri's marked down - $59.99 I think. Looked like the chambray style? Also, the garland cami's were $49.99 and Victoria in Melon. Did see 1 library cardi in putts (XS) hiding in the rack with the French terry cardis. The navy woven university pant was marked down to $79 too.

Didn't see the pewter rosette tee.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wow, the garland camis are 49 in stores and 59 online! It makes sense to call a store and have one sent for the price difference.
    Thanks for the information!

  12. No J.Crew for me...headed to the beach instead. Have a great weekend everyone!:)

  13. They were in the middle of a big overhaul of my local store last night, they were putting out all the new stuff (but I didn't see any mass movement of items to the sale section! darn!) The mgr told me all the stuff they were getting in ... some of the skirs and dresses might be worth going back to look at!

Also, have any of you been offered a little note card to fill out in the store to be their preferred customer list? I just did this last night. Wondering if it's just my store, or maybe this is something all the stores are doing and I'm just the last to know!!

  14. Old Orchard (IL) store: PS said that today (Friday) they will have all the new arrivals on the floor. A very few were already out, and I got two of them: the pewter rosette tee and some ikat bermuda shorts (pink, orange, cream design). Happy shopping, and Happy Mother's Day! (Alexis, have a great weekend with your mom!)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I can't go on the weekend but I'm popping in at lunch today. I have a pewter rose tee on hold. I'll report back about sale items or if there are any new summer things out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. So this is random but...

As I was looking at the Fiona T-strap sandals, which are shown on the model in the Aubrey halter dress, I noticed that the model has like 3 band-aids on her toes. Ah, JCrew models - they'e just like us! (Or at least exactly like me.)

  17. i went to buy the jackie shell in misty lavender this morning and the expected ship date is 8.3.09!?

ha. why even bother putting it on the site if it won't be available for 3 months?

    ReplyDelete
  18. neverenoughcardis: I also have a review/pics of the melody dress on my blog. I really like it!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love the slub Melody dress! The twisted sleeves are adorable, the shorter length is perfect and it is just very, very flattering. I'd say it fits TTS also.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think I will visit, I need to get an adjustment on some things that went on sale and also to find that grey rosette tee. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Does anyone know if the underwire bondeau tie back bikini top (item 13303) comes with detacable halter straps? I'd think it would but it does't specify, and i'd hate to assume it does...

Also, i know haven't posted in a week or two, but wow! we all have to log in now!

    ReplyDelete
  22. lexieloo - great find! Thanks for a little entertainment to start my day :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sonu - I have yet to see the aqua Jayne in b&m -- at least in NorCal.

    ReplyDelete
  24. lexieloo,

I just visited jcrew.com, checked the dress and zoomed in.
    You have great eyes!!!
Thanks for pointing it out. It's really cute to see a little something in otherwise perfect model's pic.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Don't feel bad about missing the misty lavender shell Stacy. I have the twinset in that color and it is very pale, not nearly as bright as it shows online or in catalogs. I was disappointed, but have already worn it so no returning now. It looked better in the lighting at home. Under the office fluorescents it totally drains me of color. I am contemplating dyeing it a brighter shade.

Maybe by the time it is available you can pick it up on super sale price.

    ReplyDelete
  26. xoxo- what size is your shell? if its a medium and you are willing to part with it, i will take it off your hands.

  27. does anyone have the petra nubuck high heels? How are they? running big, small, tts? Thanks!

  28. Stopped by my local B&M (Towson, MD) last night after class. I picked up a few cute things- the Jaspe? BF sweatshirt, straw beach bag w/ flower, university pants on sale and a necklace (the name escapes me). My favorite SA, Kate, told me the new items will be on the floor by today/ tomorrow.

Interestingly enough, last night was the first time I have been approached about personal shopping. I swear that I'm in there every week! I'm going to try it and see how things work out. I mentioned to Tonya (my new PS) that I read this blog. She said several SA's and the store mgr also read. I thought that was so cute!

I'm looking forward to the new arrivals, so hopefully, there are some cute things.

PS- They had the grey rosette T in XS, S and M for anyone in the Baltimore area who is looking. (It was on a higher shelf, kind of out of the way).

  29. For all your San Francisco Bay Area JCAs, I want to give a big SHOUT-OUT to one WONDERFUL SA at the new Los Gatos B&M. Nancy Miller is the NICEST, SWEETEST gal and also the store's personal shopper. I am a Bay Area native but live full-time now in the washington, DC area. However, I am out visiting family this week and dragged my poor 80 year old mother out to Los gatos today (not really that far from my home) to see the new store. What a fun outing made all the more pleasant by Nancy and her hsopitality. I snagged the Pewter Rosette tee (LOVE IT!), the Lavender Corsage Tee and a new layering necklace. Such a nice experience. I told nancy about JCA (she had heard about it!) and suggested she hold a Private sale event for bay Area JCAs. She seemed VERY interested. If one of you Bay Area JCAs feel adventrous, you might want to be forward and give Nancy a call and proposition her about an event. I'm off to the Gilroy J. Crew factory store today on the way to Monterey/Carmel-by-the-Sea, so will see what I find with the 30% off sale going on!!

  30. Hi all,

If anyone sees the Belle clutch in the key lime/golden cypress color (not sure of the official name), please let me know. It is not the pale olive color online, but more like the key lime of the garland cami and the fireball necklace. TIA! love2shop4bags AT yahoo DOT com.

  31. Did anyone notice if the short-sleeve broadcloth shirt was on sale. It is the one with the ruffled collar.

  32. off topic... but does anyone else have the fireball necklace. i bought it last week w/ the red card but i'm really hesitant to wear it b/c i think the chain is so flimsy. anyone have any problems? also, any recommendations on what to wear it with? thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Leaderboys - I saw them in with the suiting section so I don't think they are on sale.

  34. Update on the cashmere bauble-button henley - still loving this. Now, if you have a bit of a chest, like most of us - except for J. Crew models - then there will be gaps between the buttons. Anyone standing to your side can get a good view of your bra. So, I took the thread that came with the sweater and put in a couple of stiches in between most of the buttons. This has worked out really well.

After that I, of course, had to christen the sweater by picking up my Persian cat. You guessed it. White fur on a navy sweater. The story of my life.

    ReplyDelete
  35. jbird- thanks for the update on the towson b&m. i was in there on wednesday night and was totally underwhelmed. hopefully the new items will be out by this afternoon because i was thinking of stopping by.

    ReplyDelete
  36. FYI...The sale section was updated.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Stacy - thanks for your offer to buy the shell but I prefer to have the twinset options and would like to dye the pair to a more vibrant color.

What you can do is call J.Crew and ask them to do a Find It search for you. I have done this in the past for backordered items. Tell them you want the item now and can't wait for the backorder date. They will search the stores and if found, will ship to you priority for free. It's an excellent service that I have used at least a dozen times with great success. Only one item out of all those I have requested was not found. Good luck.

  38. Hi Sonu,

I was in a similar situation re the Jayne dress a few weeks ago. I found out about the sale on this blog & started calling my local B&Ms to see if they had my size & colours available.

The bad news is that a limited # of B&MS had the dress & they only stocked the tea rose (which had mostly sold out by then).

The good news is that I was able to use the red phone & argue my case (petites aren't in store anyway) to get a price match on a tea rose in my size. Also, the CA was kind enough to honour the same price on an aqua. Please note, this was probably a courtesy exception.

I have recv'd both dresses. I consider them to be TTS, although I will most likely take in the waist. I love the style & consider it v. retro fab, a la "Mad Men".

However, there is one design element I should note. The neckline has a loose drape that may revel the lining. Now, the rose lining is a darker pink that works well. Unfortunately, the aqua dress has a white lining that may show. I think I'll end up taking it to the tailor to see if we can fix it. Otherwise, I can see myself spending hours fidgeting w. the neck of the dress. Of course, I'm rather OCD about such things.

Moral of the story - the Jayne dress may be in some stores, but most likely only in the pink. You could try calling & getting a "we will find it" for the rose. I'm pretty certain that the aqua is either reg price or catalogue only.

    HTH,

    Heather:D

  44. BKP: I love the fire ball necklace with a black crek neck or with a V neck. The way it sparkles aran't the black really makes it a statment IMO. but it's also camaflages nicely on your bear skin. This is one of my favorite pieces to wear!

    ReplyDelete
  45. bkp - I have the fireball necklace too and I love it, but my necklace already has two kinks in it that I can't seem to work out and I'm worried about breaking it trying to do so. But once it's on I'm not worried about it breaking, and I think it does just fine and it's more likely to kink in storage than while you're wearing it.

lexiloo - Nice catch in the photo, that really made me smile! (as I put bandaids on my toes to help break in my new JC flats...)

  46. As someone whose local B&M is small (and who doesn't get out there often anyway), I wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate these posts (ie, what is on sale at what stores, esp. those that give the store's phone number!). Thanks to my fellow JCAs, I have scored two cardis in the past few weeks at rock bottom prices. Hats off to Alexis for creating such a great resource. Happy shopping, everyone!

  47. KInda off topic:

Just made an online order for 4 sale dresses. Can anyone tell me how they fit and if they are cute in real life. Thanks!!

    Pique Pavilion shift #14299

    Silk cotton petal dress #12584

    Linen getaway dress #15610

    Dressy Jersey empire dress #12564

Thanks any comments would be appreciated!! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cinderella -

The Pique pavilion shift is very low cut. If I bent forward everything was exposed and if you wear a bra it is visible. I bought it in hibiscus and navy and returned the hibiscus. I kept the navy just to wear with swimsuits to the beach. It's actually cute when your bikini hangs out a bit. Most people have said they were too low but others have been successful having the straps altered.

I haven't tried any of the others you bought but they look very cute! I do know the gateway dress is sheer but perfect for a bathing suit cover!

  49. Hi again,

I agree w. Corry. I really appreciate the seek & find post! I have several beloved jcrew items (like the Jayne) that I wouldn't have been able to afford w.out the tips from fellow JCAs. Thanks Alexis!

Also, thanks to Annegav for the info on Los Gatos. Good to know their PS is so fab. I'm familiar w a few of their senior staff - they are some of the best at providing superior customer service. Glad to hear that they've hired equally excellent PS & SAs.

Annegav, I hope you have a good time at the other stores. I'm esp fond of the Carmel branch. Please note, they only stock women's items - but they have a great selection & location! Looking forward to a review ;}.

Oh, & if your mother is into Doris Day, she may enjoy lunch or dinner at the Cypress Inn.

    Happy Mother's day everyone!

  50. FYI

Went to Chicago Michigan Avenue store yesterday they had rosette tees in:

    - several pewter in XS & S
    - one shell in S

They never received the white rosette tee.

  52. Jayne Dress - for those who own or have tried it, where does the hem hit on your legs? If you respond, could you please mention your height and whether you have ordered regular or petite sizes.

I love the tropical aqua color and this dress looks gorgeous. The hem hits at a good length on the model but of course J.Crew never mentions her height.

    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hey all Philadelphia area JCA's:

I was at the Willow Grove store today and they had just received 114 boxes of fresh merchandise! It will be put out today per the SA's. They were just as excited as I was! LOL

There were lots of pewter rosette tees, which is less see-through than the other colors IMO.

I also filled out a personal shopper list for the first time, so I'll see how that pans out.

The cashmere bauble-button henley.... OMG I love this sweater. I have big boobies and didn't get any gapping (I was so sure I would), so I am getting another color online. It would be cute all unbuttoned with a tank or cami under it too.

I have a wedding tomorrow and then Mother's Day so my weekend is booked. I always have off Monday, so guess where I'll be going...

    Happy shopping!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hi CaptainCrew,

If I remember correctly, the petite Jayne hits just at the knee. I'm about 5'2 in stocking feet.

Mine is at home. I'm happy to try it again & post about it later this weekend if my height is similar.

BTW the aqua is amazing! A v. flattering shade & perfect for summer office attire IMO.

  56. Does anyone know what the fit is like on the Canvas atelier jacket? I really want it in the grey, but online is out of it in size 2. I could do a size 4, but I have this feeling that it will be huge. If anyone sees it in a size 2 at their b&m, or has one they want to sell, let me know!

  57. bkp - I have the fireball necklace and love it. I wear it with everything. It's long enough that it goes over a lot of vnecks and scoopnecks, so it works with most of my tees and sweaters. I love that it doesn't snag sweaters like my twisted crystal necklace does. I don't find the chair too flimsy and I'm really not all that gentle with my clothes and accessories. I have quite a few IRL pics on my blog from the past week or so.

    ReplyDelete
  58. jbird, tld51371 and Stacey my PS is also Tonya. A month or two ago we had a JCREW party at the TOWSON mall and it was a blast. She even brought cookies! So I was wondering, since roll-out is this weekend, how about we do another party next week? I recommend we have the party when the store is closed to other customers. It's a lot more fun that way. You can leave your purse in the dressing room without having to worry about other people coming in, make new friends....etc. Would a week night at 8:30pm work? If you guys or anybody else is interested email me at khatt13@hotmail.com.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thank you Heather:D. I'm a half foot taller but it helps to know where the dress is designed to fit. What shoes do you wear with the tropical aqua dress?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hi again CaptainCrew,

    Sorry my sizing varies so much. Story of my life... My sister is about 9inches taller. I can't complain tho' as it's a lot easier to cut something down than to try to make it longer :}

To answer your question, I have 2 different pairs of shoes I wear w. that dress. A pair of bone peep-toe pumps for work & some strappy sandals in pewter for play. If I had the $$$ I would buy these adorable shoes from Kate Spade:

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7533392/c/3528.html

Of course, I could spend hours on that site as well. Must-be-good... Must-resist! Ooooh look, pretty:

    http://couture.zappos.com/n/p/dp/51166302/c/193169.html

Ok I gotta go back to work now. Maybe I can come up with a winning algorithm for the lottery ;)

    Happy shopping everyone,

  61. I wondered into my B&M tonight - and wow! tons of new stuff on the floor - I spent a fortune. So many cute tops, beach wear that could double as tops, several new skirts, and an amazingly cute ruffle-y type cotton dress that I just had to have.
P.S. Love the blog now that we're at nothing Anon. I'd actually stopped posting and was skimming instead of reading because I couldn't stand the negativity. So glad to see we're back on track!!! Kudos Alexis.

  63. It seems like there hasn't been a good in-store sale in a while. I miss the fun of getting a % off sale merchandise. They were a big draw for me to visit the store. The online sales have been great lately, but the shipping fee sometimes makes me hesitate to pull the trigger.

    ReplyDelete
  64. My B&M had some new items on the floor. Some very cute short sleeve cardigans with flowery embellishments not yet online; the swirl tank in white. I was not personally impressed by the pewter rosette tee. Nothing exciting in the sale section.

I left with a Cashmere villa cardigan and a corsage tee in lavender.

The store was very quiet for a Friday night.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi all,

I just registered. I use to come here to check out the posts as the tips on sizing, color, and great finds were so helpful. FYI: My PS just e-mailed me with news that they were having a special event in store for the new May collection with an additional 15% off all prices. Others might want to call their PS to see if you come in they will give you an additional discount! Thanks Alexis for providing this forum. Glad the negativity is no longer a problem!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry if this was already posted, but I thought this might be of interest. I just got this in response to an email I sent seeking application of my student discount to 2 online orders:

"We have been delighted in providing this special discount for those of
our customers living and working in the academic community, and look
forward to continuing this service. As of May 1, 2009, however, the
basis for determining qualifying orders has changed.

The education discount will continue to be applicable to all regularly
priced and promotionally priced merchandise selected for purchase at our
J.Crew retail stores, at jcrew.com, or via a phone call. Any merchandise
that is sale or clearance-priced and ending in 99 cents, will not
qualify for the additional 15% price reduction."

This is going to cut down on my purchasing b/c I really only justify buying more clothes that I certainly don't *need* when I know I am getting the extra student discount on top of a markdown.

i do plan to still have on in july--which will have a big roll out -with some fall items as well. i know it's over a month away but wanted to give you guys a heads up. email me for those who are interested..lyssaf at gmail dot com.

  68. I was at Towson this evening. They have more items on the floor except I'd hardly describe them as new. They are items already available on the website. Maybe they have more stock in the back? The newest items on the floor, that aren't really new are:

-Monterey Skirts: size down one to two times and wear it on your hips. Cute and airy for summer.

-Linen Tweed Mica Mini: tts and super cute in navy and weathered stone (don't recall seeing the bright rhubarb). Want, want, want.

-Pretty beaded slub cotton (I think it's slub cotton) tee's. One of them is really nice as the collar is beaded all the way around, and the front of the top is cut/split open.

Others may name more items but nothing really grabbed me other than items I listed above. Oh yes, they do have the grey Rosette tee on the table to the left of the entrance with some other tee's. They had only 4 or 5 on the table.

The sale items are not an add'l percentage off and have not changed since last weekend. They do have a mini-variety of matchstick and bootcut jeans for $49.99 in the sale section.

    Have a nice evening!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oops...the Rosette tee's are to the right of the entrance, not the left. As if someone is going to walk in the store to verify my statement this evening. :)

  70. I cleaned out the grey chiffon tees from the Tucson store. They had two XS and one S, and I bought them for myself and friends.

Some new releases on the floor. A beautiful cardi with a yellow/gold/light brown print, a short sleeve cardi with a medallion print, the slub v-neck tee with the twisted neckline, several poplin dresses including a shirt dress. I got a navy eyelet pencil skirt, it's called porthole eyelet. My SA said she thinks it will only be sold in stores.

  74. Sometimes I find hidden sale items on the website. At least I *think* they are hidden. I think I'll start posting them in random places.

Here is one: Felice Jeweled Ballet Flat 96976, $89.99, size 9.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Here are a couple more. Again I *think* they are 'hidden,' but not 100%.

    SIZE 10 - golden roses cherie cami,99921, $49.99

SIZE 12 TALL - camel striped Victoria, $69.99

    ReplyDelete
  76. Chalreston, SC, has pretty much the same stock as others. They did have a small stack of gray flower tees, for those interested.

I tried on the dressy jersey belted dress in bright mango, and it is bright. But, I look better in saturated colors, so it worked. I had to size down - the medium was too big and just not flattering. However, when you size down, expect to lose about 4-5 inches on the length. I wasn't expecting that. Also, it's $78 in store ($10 more online). I will eventually buy it.

I was ready to buy a necklace, went to the counter, and found out that teachers have to have proof with them to get the discount. Well, my school doesn't hand out id's and I don't carry proof with me. So, even though I've shopped for years and used the discount and my ps knows I'm a teacher, I still couldn't get the discount. I knew the policy had changed for what it could be used on, but didn't know I had to have tangible proof. Needless to say, I didn't make a purchase. I'll head back downtown next week with proof and get the necklace (maybe two).

    Happy shopping.

  77. OT: But I know many of you are Anthropologie fans as well and they are currently offering free shipping for Anthro members. If your Anthro card number is linked to your online account then the shipping charge will be automatically removed and you can see the cost of shipping as a promotion discount on the checkout page. I heard that this might last until September but I'm not sure. Happy Shopping!

  78. I just bought the Gold Metallic Danielle sandals and the Silver skirt w/ elastic waist band (not the mini!). I was told I couldn't use student discount on sale stuff : ( very disappointing!

  79. There is an EXCELLENT multi-day profile of J.Crew/Jenna on Fashionista.com. Interesting info on the design process and fun pics, esp. Jenna's office. Info on future design collaborations.
Talked to my SA yesterday, doesn't sound like there is much to the June release. Lots of dresses. Just got the summer university pants (sale) with two decorative buttons on the waist band. They fit TTS and look fantastic.

  80. It has always been the policy at all 4 JCrew's I shop at to have proof of educator's discount. I carry a copy of my teaching certificate with me. I am very HAPPY that JCrew is enforcing the policy and making people show proof. Obviously, people are taking advantage of this discount (not math teacher) I am talking in general and the policy must now be enforced.

I think it is fine to just get the discount on regular and promo items. I am happy JCrew is letting us use it on promo items. I mean the stuff is already on sale and I don't expect a discount. I am happy to get whatever discount I can.

  81. Carrying a pay stub worked in the past as well as proof. Always have one of those around to grab as well.

  82. Hi Letitia, I have seen the editor tote, it is very pretty. The design is beautiful, and it is really big. The only thing that didn't quite convinced me is that the leather feels and smells (but doesn't look)like plastic. According to the description the leather is supposed to age and become softer, so that can explain the feel, but the smell?.. not like the garveri leather of the uptown tote or oslo bag.

  84. I forgot to mention that I tried on the ruffle swirl tank (in navy) and really liked it. I do wish it was washable, so it was a no at the price. However, if they still have the navy around in my size after a markdown (or two), then I would get it. Since I don't tuck in much, the side zipper was fine. It was TTS for me.

I also forgot to say that I ordered the featherweight cotton v-neck cardi in breeze. My b&m didn't have many of the colors left - 2 amythest (L & XL) a few navy, black, natural, white, one sweet fuschia, and weathered stone. Since the amythest is already gone online in my size and the breeze is dwindling, I went ahead and ordered. Fortunately, the cs was willing to honor the teacher discount as long as I gave my school email address. :) I also ordered the crewcuts flower ring, as it wasn't available and won't ship until July. I wonder if the b&m's even got them?

  85. I received my contrast tunic yesterday and wanted to give my opinion in case it helps someone else. The tunic is a no-go for me and I will be returning it. First off, I thought the contrast color was navy but it is black. I should have looked closer at the website but the black just didn't do it for me, navy would have been much nicer for my complexion.

The tunic has no side slits but it still hung straight down on me in a voluminous fashion. I thought it looked better tucked. I ordered my usual size and it fit fine in the shoulders and bust, but the arms were a little long and I'm 5'9". Maybe because I had to take a size large enough for my bust, which usually means extra fabric everywhere else too.

The ivory silk is fairly sheer, I could see my navel as a shadow underneath when standing 3 feet from the mirror. The pockets hide most of the bra show-through, which is a plus. The mandarin collar didn't seem to fall nicely and the contrasting fabric drew my eye to it.

I paid almost $60 for the tunic so it's definitely not worth that to me. I noticed it was on the sale site for $19.99 recently and at that price it may be a good deal for some. For me it was just meh, at best.

I did get the solid tunic in navy and I liked it much better. The color is very rich and there is a slight sheen to the silk fabric. The collar still doesn't fall exactly right but it is much less noticeable in the solid color. Overall it just looked much better on and I'll be keeping the navy tunic.

  86. Thanks Elnobe.

No sales associate could give a review but since the dreaded final sale hasn't launched, maybe I'll purchase the bag and return it if I don't like it.

I love bags, both big and small, the size dosen't matter to me, but the plastic look and feel, not cute. I was thinking of getting it in the stone color. what color did you see it in?

  93. just to let you all know, jcrew treats their employees like crap. i love hearing all the people that say they emailed mickey and he responded to them right away, etc. - i emailed him (and told him i was an employee(former)) and all i got was a generic "thanks for the email! a team member will get back to you soon!" hmmm.... btw, this is totally a long story made short...
i will never EVER shop there EVER again.... :(

  95. I went to a B&M yesterday fully intending NOT to purchase anything... then I saw this mini with a mod geometric print in white/grey/olive/yellow. Luckily, my bf liked it too, so much that he bought it for me! :)

The mini looks like a cotton sateen and is unlined. Has a side zip and on seam pockets. Color code says BSA...

I will try to take a pic of it today to put on polyvore.

    ReplyDelete
  96. re: mini: it has a back zip, not side zip.

Also, photobucket does not allow clipping to polyvore anymore? :(

  97. Yes, I know my favorite store manager LEFT JCrew and went to work for the GAP. She really likes working there compared to JCrew! I am happy for her; really nice lady!

If you could find a way to get a pic of that mini on here, that would be great. My PS described it over the phone but I haven't seen it IRL.

  102. I just got back from the Asheville, NC B&M where I used by $25 off $150 card... and my mom's rewards card. We bought a bunch of great stuff. And for mother's day, they gave my mom a white long stemmed rose! How nice!

They had a couple butterscotch victorias for $50. I got one... the other two left were a 10 and a 12. The sale section was really full. I saw the new arrivals... eh. Nothing wonderful, in my opinion.

  103. Just my $.02 for those asking about the Jayne dress:

First, I have it in tea rose and love it--tons of compliments. I think tea rose is a universally flattering color and the shade is even prettier in person.

I'm 5'4" and have it in an R; it hits a little below the knee. I also think it runs a little large. One thing--if you have a question about how the cowl drapes, look at the photo of the model in the aqua dress, not the older pictures or the mannequin photos of tea rose, black, or coal. When Jayne first came out, they had pinned it on the model in the tea rose photo so that it looked like an almost cap sleeve (similar to the 07 120s dress) with only a slight drape in front. In reality it is sleeveless (fully bare shoulders) with a deeper drape as in the aqua photo. I would have preferred the former but am happy with the latter.

  104. I saw two tea rose Jayne dresses in the sale section at KOP: 610 265 0210. HTH!

  105. Sorry, the tea rose Jayne dresses at KOP were both a size 10.

  106. I was at the J Crew in Dallas Texas today (Galleria) still had one xs and s in the light pewter rosette tee. Lots of sat pants, Cardigans were pretty much picked over. Lots of hoodies though. Also was in Southlake location no more rosette tee's, sale section has had the same stuff for the past 2 months (bubble tanks etc).

Found a couple dresses. And still a TON of those damn sweatshirt hoodies.

Really NOT impressed at all with the new roll-out. I can't wait till fall!!
