Crewcuts Email: Kids Outerwear Sale of 30% Off

J.Crew sent an email today letting us know that they are also offering 30% off Crewcuts outerwear (both online and in-stores). :)

J.Crew also reminds us about their fall sale. I checked their online sale now and it seems like a few items (although not much new to the sale) have been added (like the Velvet Bella Jacket and the Fleur suede flats).

I also have also noticed (and I think a few Aficionadas have mentioned this point on the blog before too) that the sale section does *not* show all the sale items available. For instance, you can see some of the blazers on sale in the "sale section" but if you do a search for "jacket", there will be a lot more sale jackets available. :)

  1. While I buy my daughter a lot of Crewcuts clothes I don't buy her their jackets at all......kids are so rough on their coats (and I am constantly washing hers) that it is not worth the high JCrew price even on sale:)

  2. They did have the velvet Bella in Welsh purple and in my size so I ordered it.

I'm assuming that I'll get the 'we-wish-we-had-enough' email shortly. ;(

  4. When I brought up the velvet Bella I was not even able to select a size. After the site was upgraded this summer I emailed to say that some items would not allow me to select a size. I received a very curt email reply, "That means it is sold out!!"

I have this item in Welsh purple and would love it in black also, but I guess it is no longer available. I hope you get yours skittles.

  5. Ha, did you see that if you search jackets the Lucido is now $975?

  7. I also received this email earlier this morning, but my boys already have their *Winter* jackets for this year, so I won't be buying. :)

  8. Although I love crewcuts for my daughter, the prices are too steep for play clothes.

OT, I was Woodbury last weekend, the Polo children's was having a great sale. Most things were marked down 20-30%, and they sent a coupon for another 20% on top. I stocked up on lots of winter stuff.

  9. Thanks for the tip on searching for "jacket" instead of going through the sale site...searched for "sweater" and found some great deals!

  11. Thanks for the tip on searching! The search turns up more sale items, and is a trick I'll never forget to use, or at least until the web site is really, really, really fixed.

The San Telmos are back in lots of sizes, for instance.

  13. I know this is very off-topic but someone please help me out. I want to buy a bikini top from JCrew and I don't know if I should get xs or x?

I'm 5'2", 34B with a narrow ribcage, and usually wear s or m and 6 in American sizing on top. I have one shirt from JCrew in size 0 , which fits snug but I can button up without a problem.

I'm deciding between Solid twist-front padded bandeau (95226) and Solid wide tie-back bandeau (80894). I'm wondering, is Solid twist-front padded bandeau hooked or tied in back? And lastly, what's the difference between padded and regular swim top? Thank you in advance!

  14. Thanks andformynexttrick! I hope I get it as well: so far no cancellation notice, but the order's status is still 'open'.

BTW: KT-69 for free ship/$150+ has expired, however code ROCKCENTER *should* get you free shipping on any amount. I just ordered the blue double serge skirt in a 6 & 8 got free shipping with this code. I don't know if there is a minimum or not.

  15. Thanks Skittles! You just saved me $17.50 on the order I placed this morning.

  16. Anon at 9:16 you're welcome. I'm pretty sure now that there is no minimum (or that there is an uncharacteristically low minimum) because I just placed an order for $29.99 and the code worked.

I'm also pretty sure that this code will have a short lifespan (similar to JUSTASK) but it's nice while it lasts. ;)

  17. alyona - If you are a 34B, XS is giong to be too small for you. I am a 32B, and the XS was almost too small on me. The band was pretty tight.

  18. ALyona,
I too am 5'2" 34b, and usually wear an xs or s in a jcrew top. I have the padded twisted bandeau in a small. I usually take a medium in jcrew swim, but this one runs a little big, I think. It's a tie- back, btw.

  19. Question...

How do I know if something on the website is final sale and not returnable. My size there ranges so much that I am worried about buying something online (but the deals are so good!)

    Thanks!

  20. LS: I have purchased a number of items from the sale page since it stopped being labeled final sale. The first order that I received had a few items in it that still had final sale stickers on the bags and my receipt noted that the items were final sale. I did not have any trouble returning those marked FS, but it was my PS who took them back so maybe she did me a favor. Had she not, I would have argued because my order confirmation and shipping receipts did not identify the items as FS.

None of more recent purchases have had the FS stickers or notations and I have had no trouble returning them to my B&M.

I know there was some discussion a couple of days back about items ending in .99 being final sale but I think that came from a misguided CSR. J.Crew has always made its final sale terms apparent and I take the absence of those indicators (changed sale page, no red print reminding me that an item is FS) means the terms have changed to back to their normal return policy. You cannot be held to hidden or unknown contractual terms--that just not how enforceable contracts are formed.

If you are still hestitant, call and talk to a CSR and explain your sizing concerns and confirm that the items are returnable.

  21. .99 is a sale item. An item that has been marked down and will not return to full price. It does not necessarily mean "final" sale.

.50 usually denotes a promotion price, it could return to regular price whenever the promotion ends.

The above are almost universally true, but there are special prices that fall outside these "rules". Hope this helps.

  22. LS & anon@8:44pm : I also purchased a few items after the final sale was over but my order arrived with the "final sale" marking all over the place -- both stickers and the receipt. So I called in the CS. Apparently, the CS people were also confused because in their computer system, my order shows as "not final" sale. So it seems just sticker/receipt error. And apparently, when processing returns, they don't really look at the receipt, but they type in the order number to see if returns are allowed. So I guess it doesn't matter what the receipt says really.

  23. hmmmm thanks for the advice everyone. went ahead and ordered a few things last night. will let you know if anything has the markings of final sale on it...but as mentioned by someone...i plan to ARGUE if needed! hopefully everything will fit perfectly though. :)

  24. question about crewcuts shoes: are they durable? i am a size 5 women's, which are rarely available so i've considered buying girls flats (size K3). has anyone purchased girls shoes before? what is the sizing like? are the styles comparablet o women's, or do they look "little kid-ish" ?
