(Sidenote: I was pleasantly surprised to see my local stores [at Westport and Greenwich, CT] carrying the additional percent off sale. When I mentioned this to the store associate, she told me she was too and that she thinks this will be the last "additional percent off" sale at her J.Crew store for the rest of the year.)
Also many stores are carrying the following additional promotions (although it is not clear how long these will last):
- 20% off full priced sweaters
("thanks!" to Ameilia & smartblonde) - 25% off full priced suiting for women
("thanks!" to Anon at 10:44 PM [in this post]) - 30% off select full priced outerwear
("thanks!" to smartblonde & Anon at 7:24 PM [in this post] & Anon at 7:45 PM [in this post]) - All cashmere crewnecks, v-necks, turtlenecks for $99
("thanks!" to slightlyoldersally, Amy, starla729, and Anon at 10:44 PM [in this post], as well as Anon at 3:25 PM and Anon at 3:34 PM [both in this post]) - 30% off full priced winter accessories
("thanks!" to Anon at 3:12 PM [in this post]) - 40% off select full priced socks
Are there any other promotions currently running at your store? Do you think there will be more "additional percent off" sales at J.Crew stores this year? :)
these sales are great--i just picked up the lucille boucle jacket, which i've wanted for months. here's my question: is boucle a matronly material? i have never worn it, and the coat itself seems really hip, but i'm worried the material is going to seem matronly. opinions please!
ReplyDeleteI doubt that this will be the last "additional percent off" of the year.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how long the 40% off socks is going to last? I would love to get a pair of their skull and crossbone socks for my sister for Christmas, but I can't get to my store until Wednesday. TIA
ReplyDeleteIn the Westport, CT store yesterday, I thought I saw a sign that said "all cashmere crewnecks and v-necks $99." I was bummed because I wanted a turtleneck but they weren't on sale.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the store was very crowded!
This won't be the last sale, they have alot of merchandise to move, they overstocked for a slow buying X-mas season.
ReplyDelete30% off cold weather accessories.
ReplyDeletealso, slightlyoldersally -- in my store (manhasset) cashmere turtlenecks are on sale as well.
I'm pretty sure the cashmere t-necks were on sale with the rest of the cashmere in Westfarms yesterday. There was a table with crews, t-necks, and cardis all listed at $99. I was lucky enough to get a coupon in my catalog too $25 off $125 and used it. I didn't realize not everyone got one :(
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me which stores are offering 20% off sweaters? I called a few and was told that they weren't offering 20% off sweaters. Can someone help? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the leather tumbled driving mocs at their outlet? I am looking for the chocolate in size 8. I'm usually a 9, but the 9 was *huge* on me (even with insoles and socks!)..and the chocolate/8 is sold out online :(
ReplyDeleteThanks!
anon @ 4:10 - Charleston, SC is offering 20% off full price sweaters
ReplyDeleteanon at 4:10 - westfarms (farmington, ct) is also offering 20% sweaters (except cashmere).
ReplyDeleteI am a cardholder who received a rewards card but did not get the coupon in my holiday catalog. BOO. Curious to know if the people who received coupons are cardholders, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 2:10, boucle is definitely NOT matronly! It is retro-mod, and very hip! It was in style in the 60's (MadMen era). I remember my mother wearing a cowl-neck mohair boucle sweater in the early 70's, and it would totally rock today! The Lucille jacket is beautiful; my only concern would be the fabric getting "pulls" from getting caught on things. I almost bought it on sale in my b&m yesterday, but they didn't have my size... :(
ReplyDeleteA word to those who want an item that is listed as unavailable online-- I called to do a search, and the chocolate driving mocs/size 8 *were* avail (although they are not listed online)..
ReplyDeleteI *do* have to say that the SA tried to get me to use the 15% off student discount vs the 20% off sale..when she asked me why I wanted the 20, I said because it was worth more..duh...
Im also going to vent and say I wish we could stack 2 codes via phone!
*but* I am happy for the shoes : )
I received my catalog, but nothing special inside...bummer! :(
ReplyDeleteAnon@2:10: I have the Lucille in Orange and absolutely LOVE it!!! I have already worn it 3 times and get tons of compliments each time I do. :) I would definitely NOT consider it to be matronly, either.
did anyone see the sketchbook roses belle skirt in a 0? ! i just bought a grey cashmere cardigan and the lulu dark cloud peep toes and now i really want this skirt!! please let me know if you saw it anywhere?
ReplyDeleteactually i just found it at the willowbrook store in NJ, they're doing 50% off sale items so i got it for $20 but shipping is 10.50 and they wouldn't do a student discount with my edu address =( and they're also not too pleasant over the phone....but still if anyone's looking for it, it's there!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the lulu flats in gold? I would love to know how much they're selling for in stores. TIA
ReplyDeletewillowbrook mall in wayne nj offered the 50% off PLUS the cashier even asked if i was a student so i could add on the additional 15% some enamal bracelets ended up being less than $2!
ReplyDeleteMath Teacher:
ReplyDeleteAnything good in the sale section of Charleston?
leaderboys: I haven't been down there since last Saturday, and I wasn't there long. I don't have school Wednesday, so I plan to head down there then. Hopefully, they'll do more markdowns before then.
ReplyDelete(i posted anon at 2:10)
ReplyDeletethanks very much for everyone's feedback on the lucille jacket! now i am reassured & can't wait to try it on! it should arrive tomorrow morning!
Ran into the store got a crewneck sweater on sale ($59.50) then 20% off. The sale stuff was an additional 20% off. I also got a 10% off coupon for my next purchase expiring Nov. 30. I actually bought back a carrot cardigan I had returned a couple of months ago...but at a much better price!
ReplyDeleteI have the Lucille boucle in green. I wore it today. Love it!
ReplyDeletesuilove - saw lots of sketchbook rose skirt at Brea, CA store. I didn't check the sizes.
ReplyDeleteThey got a lot of sales merchandie - apparently other stores ship there. I got the art deco dress for $48, lady cardigan for $24. Tons of sequin henley for $16 and a lot of the tartine cardigans.
Wool Stephanie dresses at my local B & M for 19.99 plus 20% off, vs. 39.99 on the website!
ReplyDeleteanon, 8:42,
ReplyDeletewow! i really wanted the wool stephanie dress but i couldn't find it anywhere in mass in my size! what store is it 19.99$ + 20% off?!
anon, 8:13
was it 20% off final sale at the brea store?
thanks!
anon @ 842pm (or anyone else): What is the fit of the stephanie like? I've been curious about it since it came out - it looks very comfortable but I worry about the belt detail on the sides adding width. Thanks for any help!
ReplyDeleteMelanie: I hope to get my Stephanie tomorrow ... I'll come back here and let you know what I think!
ReplyDeletesuilove, the Stephanie is 19.99 at the Ann Arbor, MI store. Just saw the black today while doing a quick browse, but noticed greys this Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteMelanie, the dress runs TTS, maybe a scooch large. I usually size up in dresses like shifts since I'm well blessed on top, but I got my reg size and it was fine. It is very comfortable and is loose past the bust. There's room for a thin/ medium shirt underneath. The teeny side beltish decorations are completely superfluous and aren't adjustable at all. I bet they could be removed or altered (if a slightly more formfitting silhoutte was wanted.) However, the buttons are cute and as a whole the belty bits add no width just a bit of extra detail. I have to mention that the fabric is fantastic. 100% wool and not a bit scratchy, it can probably be hand washed and is stretchy without being clingy at all. The bottom hem seam looks to be finished by hand tacked to a piece of satin ribbon. At the B&M price, you couldn't buy the fabric and make a dress for that cheap!
I got the $25 off $125 card in my Holiday catalog as well. I am not a J. Crew cardholder but I purchase at least one item a month from them.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this year when their second B&M store opened in Dallas, I received the same offer in a catalog.
I guess I am lucky but I would like to know to who (and why) they decide to send these offers!
Boucle isn't the least bit matronly.
ReplyDeleteNo $25 off coupon for me in my holiday catalog. :( Boo. Well, I suppose it's because I received one in a catalog about two months back. Either way, I wish JCrew would extend these kinds of offers to all.
ReplyDeleteI got the $25 off card in my holiday catalog too. Actually I got $25 off card in the Fall catalog as well, although I did not have a chance to use it. I am not a J.Crew card holder and I am the last one who receives catalogs all the time, while everyone gets new catalogs much earlier. Does J.Crew choses customers randomly or J.Crew choses areas to promote sales?
ReplyDeleteI didn't get a $25 off this time, but did get one in the fall catalog (before I was a cardholder). I feel like they choose to send them to people who spend a little there/shop JCrew infrequently to encourage them to spend more...Just my opinion!
ReplyDeletei understand from the business side why a company would want to send coupons to people who wouldn't normally buy, as the coupon might persuade someone who wouldn't normally purchase to make a purchase... but when everyone knows this happens it alienates those who DO normally buy because they never receive these special coupons in the catalogues, and i don't think they would want to upset their frequent customers... doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the comments about the stephanie! I do like that it looks very soft and not scratchy at all. :)
