Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the "secret sales" or to see some new holiday arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. (Maybe there are still some stores that are carrying 50% off as well!) Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Well, I plan on checking out the Men's Liquor Store & Rockefeller store this Saturday. Going to start my Christmas shopping. I haven't received word from the JC "Gift Guru" yet, but I pretty much have ideas anyway.

  2. Of course I will be in my local B&M- it wouldn't be a weekend without at least a swing by to check out all of the fun holiday stuff! I really do like a lot of it, but since I have only 1 holiday party I can't really spurge on any of the fun stuff-I might consider a fun piece of jewelry that I could use for work too. Today I picked up the Merino Paige jacket that I have had my eye on for $129 + 10% coupon. I also received in the mail the snow-leopard harlow blouse- I have been watching it for awhile and it finally came down to $79 from $175- I LOVE it!!! Super high quality and a great fit (runs a bit big) I loved it so much I quickly ordered the snow-leopard shirtdress for $69 today! Yes I know it might be too much snow leopard:)

  3. palo alto, CA store did not have any additional % off tonight, but prices rang lower than the sticker:

Emerson blouses (all colors) had a couple of each size left, marked $49.99 or some still $88, rang up $29.99 (thanks whoever posted the tip earlier! I now have all 4 colors coming!)

Patent wide belt, had yellow and dusty rose, mostly XS-S, and S-M at least in the rose, marked $29.99-$55, rang up as $19.99

Other things I saw but didn't purchase, so don't know the actual price:
belle sketchbook rose skirts marked $39.99, had a handful of these including one sz0 recent return
tafetta A line, I think it was $39.99, in champagne, pink, and a couple in brown
    lots of wool pants
lots of red velvet ecoles marked $89.99
merino cardigans with chiffon rose marked $59.99
some smattering of fionas and other ecoles
$99 cashmere in cream colors, different styles
    lots of jeans

    hope this helps!

  4. oh and because of "crewcuts anniversary" they had cookies, juiceboxes and lollipops out, plus and 15% off any crewcuts purchase (not sure if it would stack with other discounts). there were cute double breasted peacoats (i think yellow with brass buttons) in crewcuts girls for $99.

  5. By the way, if anybody is still considering the whisper lame slim shirt... Sigh. I looked like a cheap hooker in it. Even my husband, who usually has nothing more than a grunt to offer as an opinion about my clothes, suggested I return it. Maybe, it just did not fit me. But, thread carefully with that shirt.

On another subject, any stores offering 50%?

    ReplyDelete
  6. palo alto also had tissue sequin placket henleys marked down to $19.99 if anyone is looking for those

  7. My store is doing the extra 50% off this week, starting Thursday- Sunday.

  8. J Crew store opened a "Men's store" last week in Garden State Plaza (northern NJ). It's really just a small alcove adjacent to the main store (now all womens). I think it actually has less mens apparel then when it was previously in the back corner of the main store. Interestingly, I asked a store clerk during a casual conversation a few weeks ago who most of the customers were. She said 90% of sales were to women. It sort of made sense to me, at that point, why J. Crew has come up with such things as the Liquor store/Men's store. They really need to focus on balancing their customer demographic.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, and that new Men's store at GSP doesn't really have any sale/clearance section since it's freshly stocked with the latest items. The J. Crew at Willowbrook (Northern NJ also) had 50% off last weekend, but most of the good pickings are gone (for men). The women's clearance section seemed pretty well stocked. My gf picked up a few items.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Occasionally, I check items which are not on sale section. Some items are good deal.

    Trastevere paisley short (size 10, 12) $19.99
    City-fit kimono-dot café capri (size:6,10,12) $29.99
    City-fit floret-print café capri (size:4) $19.99
    Cha-cha dot pencil skirt(size 4, golden olive) $39.99
Beaded paisley necklace (blue, orange) $39.99
Embroidered-pinwheel smocked dress (navy, white, pink, yellow, almost all sizes and colors) $39.99

  11. Anna:

    Which is your store?

    Thanks!

  12. Does anyone know how the Emerson blouse fits? It looks like there are small gathers on the sleeve. Are the sleeves poufy or fitted? It's hard to see how it fits on the model. She's so darn skinny.

  13. EXTRA 20% off on the sale site now!

    ReplyDelete
  14. The website has extra 20% till Monday!

Rockaway in NJ has an extra 50% (I got the paintbrush floral belle skirt for $8.50 yesterday!). Short Hills in NJ didn't have an extra percentage off, alas (I did get the sketchbook roses belle skirt for $33.00 after my teacher discount) but based on the website 20%, I'll probably check back today!

    ReplyDelete
  15. It appears that the extra20 code is working on clearance ($.99) and prmotional ($.50) prices. Great news!

    ReplyDelete
  16. The problem is, you can't use the free shipping code if you use this, so sort of a wash. Meh.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Question - off topic - have people started getting their rewards? Someone called me from J. crew a week ago to ask if I planned on using mine, and I haven't gotten it yet. She said it was on its way. I WANT IT!.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi Molly (good to see you around, btw) - I got mine about three weeks ago, I think in the tail end of October. They expire on December 15th so you may want to call and check on yours.

    ReplyDelete
  19. holiday sale.. additional 20% off markdowns through Monday. EXTRA20 at checkout:)

    ReplyDelete
  20. anon @ 12:18am ~ i recently got the snow leopard tartine cardi & LOVE it ~ it is so versatile, I can't believe how many things I can wear it w/. Enjoy your leopard pieces!

Does anyone else think JC runs large? Some stuff is TTS, but other items seem huge.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I should have waited...I just placed an order for 12 items yesterday!!!!!! an extra 20 would have been nice:)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, maybe my free shipping yesterday was OK after all....still 20%...(oh to have free shipping again:)

I know, more complaining but when other companies have extra 30 and free shipping...JCrew's sales pale in comparison.

I think the best is yet to come...a measly 20% is not going to make me pull the trigger...glad I thought a minute and stopped myself!

    ReplyDelete
  23. J. Crew outlet in Wrentham, MA has 40% off all sweaters, 30% off denim, 40% off most accessories, extra 30% off clearance and many 40% off items in crewcuts.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I will be headed out West for Thanksgiving this weekend so I plan to check out what's happening at the Pioneer Place JCrew in Portland.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I also placed a rather large order last night with only a free shipping coupon. I called this morning and they made a note on my account to take the 20% off before I am charged. Yay!

  27. i really want some skirts now, i'd love to get the sketchbook roses belle or taffeta A line or taffeta belle...did anyone see a size 0 in any of these in the stores? i'm going to check out the peabody and copley stores today and tomorrow so i'll update! thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Does anyone own the Jacinda jacket? The yellow is on sale and I have been admiring this it came out. My only concern is "how bright is the yellow" and how long are the sleeves. Why everything seems to be three quarter sleeves, I don't know. They don't look too short on the model, and I am quite sure her arms are longer than mine. Any opinion would be helpful. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hmm, I'll def. go in to my local to check for 50%. If they do I'll probably get the merino cardi with the chiffon roses in the light brown. I ordered my coat this morning with the extra 20 off, and used my call in for free shipping since my last order was so hosed. I got a good haul: Francie skirt, Stephanie wool dress, Tartine cardi, and went with the Lille coat in black. Thanks agin for the coat postings this week, everyone's sharing really helped me decide! Happy shopping, all!

  30. Oh, yeah, if anyone places a phone order, just double check to make sure the .50-ended items get marked down. They have to do it manually, but they are most def. included in the 20% off promotion. The website is doing this automatically. Nice to know something on the site is working!

    ReplyDelete
  31. wow i just did a phone order at the rockaway store and i got three skirts and a cardigan and the total incl. shipping was only around 50$ ! whoa!

i think your necklace is available on the site...just emailed you the link. HTH!

thanks so much smarty. i don't know how i missed this on the site.

  34. sophia, the emerson blouse hits slightly above my elbow (seam to edge of sleeve is about 12.25" on the sz0). It is very narrow in the shoulders (sz0 straight across is almost under 15"). i absolutely love it - one of the few items I got in ALL colors as far as i can remember, but I am very small on top. I love that you can wear it open, tied loosely, or tied in a bow - with jeans or under a suit. It is a bit sheer though FYI.

I tried on the size 2 also, and that seemed to just be wider in the torso but not really the shoulders or arms

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not going this weekend...maybe next, though...any word as to whether the B&M's will have a special After Thanksgiving sale? I know the outlets are, but what about the regular stores?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'd like to go to one this weekend, but I went to the Burlingame, CA one on Wednesday. It was my first time there and the sales associates were really nice.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Leaderboys- The Jacinda is not bright and the sleeves are bracelet legnth.

    ReplyDelete
  38. length, I mean.

I'm not sure if I am going to order for myself. I just purchased the licorice tee and rose Alessia's during the shoes sale(which already shipped, yay).
But I do want to get a few things for dh.
    Happy shopping everyone!

  40. Ann Arbor, MI B&M is just 20% off, per calling this a.m. I'm debating whether to go in again, sale section was way picked over on Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I got the licorce tee in the champagne color and can't wait for it to arrive. I checked out the citron one but just could not get a read on the color. I don't want to end up with a lemon yellow tee that would look terrible on me. Has anyone seen it in person?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ann 1:54: Ann Arbor is one of my stores as well. Thanks, I was going to make the trip tomorrow but I won't if the sales rack isn't that great. I just called Somerset and they are only 20% off as well.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Called downtown SF and it is 20% off too.

  44. Hi:
I just got back from the Fashion Valley store in San Diego, and, let me tell you, I was very unimpressed with their selection (specially in the sale section) and prices. Some of the items (namely, the peacoat) had actually increased in price (it went up to full price after I saw it for $75 off about three weeks ago). Even with my $25 gift card that came in the last catalogue, I had a hard time finding anything that I wanted. So I ended up buying something from the catalogue and getting FS (which is always nice). I guess I will go back and try to use that card before it expires (Dec 24)...

    ReplyDelete
  45. If anyone has or has seen Juliets in their store for sale, please post it. I'd much rather call stores and order than pay $129 online...

    tx!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ditto on that Laura:)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Just got back from the San Diego store. As usual, their selection is limited (small store) but they did have lots of Francie skirts in both black ($59.99) and papaya ($19.99). Lots of Herringbone Fionas and also taffeta a-line skirts ($39.99) in both brown and flamingo.

All sale was an extra 20% off (final sale).

  48. Northshore mall in MA has extra 50% off sale items plus the 20% off all full priced and promo (just not sale) sweaters! Also, had them find me a sweater they didn't have from sale, another store is price matching and shipping it to me! yay! OT - I am thinking of buying a long down coat, do they fit tts? I like the long olive one. Anyone have any thoughts on this???

    ReplyDelete
  49. anonymous @ 724- what else was at the Northshore store? Any coats, puffers? Were the sale/clearance items really picked over/did they have any new additions?

    Thx!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I didn't think the sale section was anything great, but they did have some cords and jeans and a few ecole jackets. No puffers, I want one of the long ones but I am waiting for a sale! Hopefully soon.

    ReplyDelete
  51. bellemarie: Thanks for the info! Do you think all the colors are equally sheer? Do you have to wear them with a cami? From the pic on the website, the plum looks shiny. Is there a sheen to the fabric? TIA!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sophia- I have the plum, it does have a sheen to it. It is sheer on the sides but not in the chest because of the pleats. I don't wear a cami with it

    ReplyDelete
  53. anon 724:

did you happen to see any coats on sale at northshore? thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I posted this on a different thread as well but thought I'd do it again here today in hopes of helping a fellow aficionada. :)

The Bellevue Square, WA B&M had the ivory peacoat with Thinsulate I believe since the original tag was priced at $250 down to $179 with an additional 50% off. Only Mediums were left but there were a couple of them.

The rest of the sale section was very picked through and basically nothing there even though it's an additional 50% off.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. has anyone seen a burgundy velvet Ecolé in stores? they seem to have disappeared online.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ana Patricia: I agree, the Fashion Valley sale section is anemic. I think it's smaller since last year's remodel. Anyhow, with regards to the rewards card, I think the expiration date is 12/15 (at least that's what mine says, I assumed all dates would be the same)....does anyone know if this is right?

    ReplyDelete
  57. If anyone sees the dark purple or peony color francie skirt at their B&M (size 12), can you please let me know? Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sophia,
I agree- sheen on the darker colors (plum and navy especially) and pleats means no cami needed but the ivory will probably need to be worn under something or with a cami below. I liked the ivory as sort of a featherweight layer left partially buttoned (and not ironed) actually too

    Enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Has anyone seen the Floral Desert necklace on sale at their local B&M? I was wondering if it would be marked down more than the website. Also, what other necklaces are on sale at the store? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Also forgot to mention (sorry!) that northshore has the black boucle jacket with the pockets in front (forget the name sorry), extra 50% off. Other than that no coats.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Went to Pentagon City (Arlington, VA) store yesterday. Had 20% off sale items as well as $99 cashmere tees and t-necks. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am looking for the kelly green soiree jacket in xs or s. If anyone happens to see it and could post the store here, I would so appreciate it! TIA

    That's prob the Penny

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yes, the penny! Thank you. Anyway it was 50% off the sale price, and they had quite a few of them!

    ReplyDelete
  65. i just got back northshore and they have a LOT of great stuff in their sale section...and their SAs are so amazing and kind.

    so what i remember seeing...additional 50% off:

a lot of the new argyle cardigans, francie skirts (black and pink), shimmery python skirts, 4-5 penny boucles in black (that are going fast. 0, 4, 6s) there was a 0 that was really tempted to get but didn't and am regretting now because it fit beautifully!), some ecole herringbone jackets, some merino trois rosette tanks, kate flannel dresses, this really pretty black wool rosette dress that's full price online, some skirts (taffetas in 4,6,8,10 sizes, the painted rose belle skirt, some donegal tweed skirts...etc), cords, FELTED WOOL MINIS in ivory, grey, beige (a lot of 6s, and 8s, these are full price online and feel really warm and soft, i was upset that there wasn't my size), a lot of university wool pants...i also saw the droopy flower astrid but i didn't check if it was on sale, OH ALSO, they had some ivory peacoats that were a STEAL...i wish i could have stayed longer to look through...im thinking about go back tomorrow to get the penny boucle...

ps. did anyone want a charcoal herringbone ecole in a 2? i tried it on at the store with a sweater on but its too big with a button down for work...i would exchange it for a 0 but they don't have it..

if anyone is interested, please let me know =)

  66. I went to Westfarms in Farmington, CT and the sale section was pretty good. 20% off and final sale.

I got the Francie skirt in black (59.99 + 20%). I almost went with one in papayas too but I thought it was much more orange than I thought it looked online and passed.

Some taffeta bells and sketchbook roses skirts for 39.99 and the metallic-flecked pencil skirt for 89.99. Lots of buttercup sharkskins too for 39.99.

I also grabbed a cashmere gray argyle sweater for 99.99. There were also a lot of velvet ecoles and herringbone fionas.

The accessories section was pretty slim, but the satin rosette belt did ring up on sale even though it wasn't marked. I grabbed one, along with a tissue t-neck and was pretty happy. Especially since I used the $25 off $125 coupon I got in the holiday catalog!

Also 20% off all sweaters (except cashmere)

  71. I hit the outlets today in Lee Mass. Great deals. I got a tissue turtleneck for 19.99. I bought my son 2 crewcut shirts for 20.00 . I got 2 sweater vests for $27.00 a piece and my husband some shirts for 7.00 each. Most of their items are either 30% or 40% off.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Suilove--They had mine! Thanks so much! BTW, Copley suggested that I have the catalogue do a search for me so maybe you'd have some luck that way.

    Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hi Suilove,

The catalogue was out of my size, so Copley suggested that I use the red line phone and ask them to do a search for the item in all retail stores. (You can call the 800# from home too and have them do the search for you.)

If they find your item in a store, they'll send it (and I think shipping is free). You should get an email in 24-48 hours confirming whether they've found it or not.

And they'll apply the appropriate discount--but I'd confirm that you expect 50% not the 20% most stores are offering this weekend.

I hope that helps! And I hope you find the skirt! I really love mine and I am grateful for your posting!

Men's summer Polo, reg $42.50, snatched for $4.99

    Men's boxers, reg $18.50, now 2.99

Reg fit broken in Khakis, reg $64.40, now $14.99

Seemed to be some other good buys but didn't have too much time.

I have two: one is stone beads ( pecan) and one is glass ( misty grey). Love them! Ribbon stays put and you can adjust the length! The weight is heavy , but not overly so ( I would describe it as pleasantly substantial) and necklaces come across as quality items in terms of feel and look. I would highly recommend them. My suspicion is though, that they will come down in price soon. Seems like many items will be heavily d/c in a near future to make space for new arrivals.

  84. Hello Everyone!

First, thanks to all those who shared! :)

Second, I went to two J.Crews in the area and they both had an additional 20% off their final sale items (yes- it was "final" sale). The following are some items I noticed on sale:

    Westport, CT
-lots of Emerson blouses at 29.99
-lots of Merino rose cardigans (at $49.99 or $59.99)
-lots of great headbands for just $4.99 (like the Double mirrored-metallic leather headband which is on sale online for $12.99 was $4.99 in the store)
-Double-strand flower necklace for $99.99 (gorgeous in person!)

    Greenwich, CT
-lots of Emerson blouses at 29.99
    -lots of Snow-leopard Harlow blouses
-lots of Favorite-fit plaid university pant at $99.99
    - some Astrid bouclé jackets
-lots of Wool flannel & twill Astrid jackets
    -Crystal-ball earrings for $39.99

  85. hey Alexis - interesting thing I learned from an SA in Westfarms and I thought I'd share because I know you go in the Westport store. She said Westport does not have a lot of space for sale items (I don't know, never been there) so Westfarms gets a lot of their stuff. She said they get a lot of interesting catalog returns at Westport that a lot of times end up on the sale racks at Westfarms!

  90. Hi Slastena,

Thanks so much for your thoughts on the ribbon bead necklace. I am so glad you love yours.

I carried a black one around in the store yesterday but couldn't pull the trigger because I was sure they'd be marked down soon as you suggested.

Also, I'm torn between black and misty gray. They only had black in the store and I wanted to see the gray before I purchased. In looking at catalogues today, it seems like the gray is very light. Is that how yours looks?

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

has anyone seen the berry astrid in any color in a size 10? I tried on an 8 the other day and it was too snug but SO CUTE. I was totally skeptical of all those berries, but wow, it's adorable! TIA!

  93. Hi all,

I went to the B&M at Valley Fair. It was surprisingly crowded there considering thanksgiving sales are still a few days away. They had 20% off on sale items including:

    hammered silk tanks,
    painter tees,
    Carrie dresses,
herringbone skirts Blk & sweet potato,
    argyle sweaters,
slim shirts in pale blue, bright blue, dark teal, & forest green
    gloves, hats, & belts

Also a good selection of menswear.

Several other sales were going on in the store:

    40% off socks,
    30% off outerwear
    several sweaters on sale

Lots of tempting things out there folks!

    Happy hunting all,

    Heather:D

  94. Alee,
I *think* the San Diego, CA store had a berry astrid, size 10, when I was there on Thursday. I'm not 100%, but it might be worth the call!

  95. Hi Athena,
I bought those shoes yesterday at B&M for $149 plus 20% off. I had passed them up and then went on line and saw that they were not even on sale at all but were $225. So I called and they finally found them. I adore them. I know someone in one of these messages said they were $59.99 at their store but I never learned which one..... good luck, maggie

  96. The Beachwood, Ohio store has plenty of felted wool minis in ivory and gray and they were all small sizes, 0, 2, and 4. $59.99. This store had additional 20% off and they let me use my student discount too, and gave me several of the 10% off cards for sharing my e-mail. (I have been refused my student discount on final sale items before in other stores!)

A bunch of charcoal berry astrids, all size 4 for $179.99... they have to mark these down, they had at least 6 of them!

Tons of Emerson blouses for $19.99, still have some Marcellas for $39.99 (they have been that price for at least a month)

I overheard a conversation between a customer and SA where the SA agreed to check the online price and match it if it was lower.. which it was for the particular item. This is great because alot of times there is a huge discrepancy between online and store prices which can be very annoying.

They had alot of great mens' stuff too... for anyone who also lives in Cleveland! Seems like everyone on here is from somewhere cool like NYC or California...

  98. em,

felted wool minis in gray, is it a light grey or a dark grey? i dont' recall seeing it online...and has any canadians been able to order from the store directly? i tried a couple ttimes but kept getting turned away saying that they can't ship directed to canadian customers, which i am aware cuz it has to go through their warehouse but they tell me they can't process it.
