Expect Some New Arrivals At J.Crew Stores! ;)

"Thanks!" to an anonymous member of the blog who shared with us that the November/Holiday roll out should be available at most stores now! :)

Also, another useful tidbit shared is the benefit of using a J.Crew personal shopper (PS). By having a personal shopper start the order for you via the red phone, any specials the store is offering will be honored over the phone. (As oppose to calling in the order yourself, you may not get those same in-store offers honored.) This definitely makes getting a personal shopper more attractive (even if it is just to have them to place orders.) :)

Happy Shopping! :)

  1. speaking of new arrivals...i had a question! has any (very lucky) aficionada ever receieved an "of the month club"?
I noticed under unexpected luxuries (on the home page) they brought it back this year. i remember they had a shoe of the month club last year but this year it includes jewerly, shoes, and cashmere. just curious!

  2. Kate! I hadn't even noticed that! I will make that "of the month" into its own post now. :)

  3. thanks! i was just thinking how amazing/expensive that would be!

  4. Actually, you don't need a PS to honor the discounts, any associate willing to add on for you will do also. This is a better option for people without PSs.

  5. The second phase of holiday rollout will be hitting stores in a little less than two weeks. Get ready for a great new catalog as well!!

  6. 2 weeks huh? I haven't even seen any of the new products from the last log hit stores yet, minus the antler union suit. I'm speaking of menswear.

  7. The Orlando store debuted it's November/Holiday rollout this past Tuesday, and even opened an hour early for it...I didn't go, as there really isn't anything I HAVE to have at this point...I will wait to see what the next rollout has to offer. :)

  8. FFM, I'm not feeling like there's anything I HAVE to have right now, either...it's great for the bank account, but slightly disappointing!

I still want the quinn cami, but not until it's 19.99 or so (due to the thin fabric).

  9. Oh boy. A shoe-of-the-month club would be perfect for me ;-). Though I don't know anyone with those kind of funds willing to spend them on me! Can't wait for the next holiday rollout. I did order the Heirloom Henley with the sweater promo as that was my only have-to-have item I haven't gotten. Oh, and a necklace that I noticed just went on sale might be bought next. WoO!

  11. Yes! Isn't it/he fab? I "stole" it a while back from someone who I saw had it as their avatar on another fashion blog I read. Lagerfeld Simpsonized. Genius!

  12. does anyone know the price of the emerson blouse in stores right now?

  13. I was at a store yesterday but didn't notice a lot of new / different items. Maybe that means the second roll-out is larger?

Also, is it just me or has anyone else noticed an increase in upselling when you call in an order? I was on the red phone yesterday and the woman asked me if I wanted this item, because it sold well with the item I'd ordered. That's happened on my last four red phone orders, but has never really happened before that. I didn't know if it was a new trend or if I have only just been paying attention more recently.

  15. Maybe if they slap another bow on something or sprinkle some glitter dust, we'll all think it's a different shirt. Lame jcrew, very lame!

  16. melanie: No it is not just you, I posted about this on another thread, I called CS to ask a question about my order and I had to listen to a 4 min speel about JC credit card and other stuff before my question got answered, btw the answer I received was incorrect the item did ship out 30 min after I was told that it was going to ship out until Friday.

  17. Upselling. Is that what it is called.....very interesting...I personally find it annoying but I am sure there are people who find it helpful. I am sure the CS reps have been throughly trained in using this tech. esp. with the falling stock prices.

  18. I just bought the emerson blouse 11/12/08 in gray from the Pentagon City store. It was $49.99 on sale, the rep took off $5 for Jcrew Card (that was a mistake but she was busy and didnt fix it) and $6.75 for being a student. So I only paid $38.24! I might get another one on white tomorrow.

  19. OT but did anyone get a whisper from their ps when the next private sale will be? they usually have a private sale for cardmembers once a month, and the last one was over a month ago! do you think they won't have them around the holidays? any insider information? thanks! like i said in another post, i don't want to make my long trip to a store only to find out the next day it started!

  20. I have had a card for years and have never heard of a secret sale. What is it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. they have a private sale for cardmembers... i usually find that its the week before or right at the start of a big rollout... it's 20% off any purchase and it usually lasts 3 days.

  22. A secret sale is when J. Crew puts items on sale in the store but doesn't advertise the fact with signage. You might find out from a SA or when you get to the counter to check out.

  23. Went to my B&M today and purchased 2 new tees - navy with sequined crest and grey with sequined bow. very happy with both. they also had some new hair accessories - patent leather headbands with bows on the side. Those were the only 2 new items i saw - the shirts and hair accessories.

  24. A slightly off topic note about a positive JCrew experience:

Ive been buying/returning winter coats for the past couple weeks to find a great fit...I was on the phone with CS to order 2, and I mentioned that I had been to my B&M store (cambridge ma) and they had a 30% off sale on wool outerwear...the CS called the store and gave me the discount! Lady day and shipley for 210.00 each!! She wouldn't let me apply student discount as well, but that's understandable..I am happy with what I got (she also let me use the free shipping code)! Btw this and the BR/ON/Gap F&F sale, I am one happy woman :)

  25. Hi again,

Sorry if this is a duplicate posting... But I'm very curious.

Those of you who have seen the new catalogue (three ladies in a blanket) what's your opinion of the styling / photos? Also, has anyone else noticed that the styling in the catalogue has become somewhat bipolar? That lovely model on pages 68 & 73 looks so disheveled & sloppy. Page 73 is esp. sad, it does NOT make me want to run right out & spend $$$ on the Heloise coat. However, I don't think it's the model's fault as she looks great - pulled together & stylish- on pg77. Do they have more than one stylist for these shoots? I guess it gets back to the image confusion, luxe vs. casual. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Heather:D

P.S. Thanks Lily & covert5. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks this poor woman looks like an extra from the Beverly Hillbillies! Seriously JCrew, how could you?
