A big "thanks!" to an Peggy who shared these two upcoming March catalog images with us. (Just click on either image for a larger view.)
Once again, it looks like J.Crew is going back to simple (as in, no more over-the-top layering). Once again, I am enjoying what I am seeing so far. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the catalog has to offer! :)
On another note, these images must mean that new arrivals are just around the corner. Should we expect to see them at J.Crew stores and online next week? {yey!}
What are your thoughts on the upcoming catalog from J.Crew? Do you like the clothes and styling? Are you excited about new arrivals coming soon?
LOVE the longer length skirt in the second image. Hurray!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! A decent length skirt? Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'll reserve judgment until I see it because based on these images alone, I'm underwhelmed. Too many repeats J. Crew, where the only new thing is the elevated price. I was trying to find a way to use a gift card from Christmas with the 20% off but nothing has caught my eye as a must have. There's not too much to choose from because they've really scaled back the amount of merchandise.
ReplyDeleteAlso, can I get an actual catalog this time and not an abridged one like the slim L.A. catalog I received??? Slim catalog makes for slim buying!
The next release is supposed to be Feb. 25th, according to my online PS. Hoping for a few more markdowns when that happens!!!
ReplyDeleteMy PS told me new arrivals will be in store this coming Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThat top jacket maybe looks like the one Melissa was wearing in the biker jacket email (which I never got...) but in grey? Double breasted with dome buttons on both sides... oh no, it's not, 8 vs 6 buttons, but maybe 'inspired by'...
ReplyDeleteThe stripey red top underneath btw, I loved that when I tried it on. Cute gold buttons that look really nice with a few unbuttoned, but then it's REALLY low, so really you'd probably want to wear it layered over a cami...
The strappy sandals in the first pic look like the Nicolette sandals from 2008. I have them in black and wear mine with everything, so pretty. They have really held up well for a strappy pair.
ReplyDeleteWhat is with all the big patch pockets this season? Makes the skirt look like an apron IMHO.
Sub!
ReplyDeleteLonger skirts? Yay!! Now if we can just get J. Crew to move away from the metals and rhinestone jewelry...
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! Finally!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a dork, I love that backpack. Hmmm. What will it cost? $250?
ReplyDeleteI predict the skirt will be popular...I'm short enough that the lengths don't bother me but you can only wear so many pencil skirts.

ReplyDeleteYesterday in the B&M I saw the Ryden military jacket that I (finally) love and bought. I've wanted one but they've all either been too military or cut in a way that did not look good on me (Brigadier). This new one is $98. and came in the smoky graphite color which gave the safari look I wanted rather than the military look. I hadn't seen it online yet so thought I had to buy it without the 20% promo, which I did. I kind of wish I'd saved the $20. but I am really glad I have it now, I will probably wear it this weekend. The detailing at the waist goes in well, it is not lined but is perfect for spring. I really like this jacket and would guess it will be in the March catalog.
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of those who love the skirt, and I also hope it will come in additional colors.
ReplyDeleteOT, but is anybody having trouble adding stuff to their carts on the factory website? I just can't seem to do it. I click, and nothing happens. Any help, please!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the skirt!
ReplyDeleteDitto on the skirt!! The simple styling is promising as well. Also ditton on the jewelry -- would love to see something a little different.
ReplyDeleteOT as well - tried adding a bag to the shopping bag and it is not working, even though it says it is back ordered.
ReplyDeleteRe: website - it's very reluctant to let you change colors today !
ReplyDeletei had the same problem with the website yesterday. it's worked fine today, though i'm p'd about the 20% not applying to sale. i was hoping for the cotton suiting.
ReplyDeletethe ryder jacket is online in case you want to order and return the other one elizabeth

ReplyDeleteRed shoes -- my total weakness!
ReplyDeleteThe sandals in both pics look promising too--a step away from the over-buckled, over-distressed platform monstrosities currently being offered.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like both looks - the red shoes are very pretty - Hope they aren't $225 for man made materials :(
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the red shoes.
ReplyDeleteI like the styling on the first look and yes those red sandals look cute.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the more simple, practical styling.
Add me to the list of those loving the skirt. Big pockets-check, full length-BIG check. Lately I've been craving longer skirts, more practical heels/shoes, driving scarves, and anything with a retro flair. Maybe I'm becoming my mother? Really I think I loved the throwback to old Hollywood and it got me thinking...and imagining.
ReplyDeleteMadewell had some vintage style pieces for sale today...interesting.
And now for the customer service story of the year... I did a "we will find it" search for a pair of shoes on 30% off promo. It came back that try couldn't find them. Well weeks later they show up today so I ordered them. Then thought to my self, hey, just call in and see if you can get the 30% promo from my "we will find" effort...they did it!!!
A side not for the madewell shoppers, the csr told me that they are getting shipments in from the stores....
I do love the skirt length, and it looks like a great color. The big pockets is a deal killer for me though.

ReplyDeleteHere's the scoop on the skirt: It's the Dorrie #37781 and is shown in the Toffee color. It also comes in Dragonfly Blue, Alabaster and Modern Red (reddish orange). Info courtesy of an online PS!
ReplyDeleteTo clarify, I am not an online PS -- I got the information from one. Also, the red shoes with the skirt have 5 buckles across the instep. Sorry, Cass.
ReplyDeleteFashionAncient, thanks for the tip about the skrit! Dragonfly blue is so pretty -- can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering why they keep styling with sweatshirts?

The grey blazer is the Double Breasted Bonnie Blazer (item 35586) already on sale on the website for $138.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping they'd offered more colors that the typical black and greys....
And I meant "than" not "that"...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the first outfit! Can't wait to do a spring shoot with a model wearing something like that-----the look is very '60s like. The pants look fantastic-----outstanding fit but I prefer a khaki color and white top. Maybe I will ask her to do the hair like Snooki :-)
ReplyDelete@ Pansy: The grey blazer is the Double Breasted Bonnie Blazer (item 35586) is on sale in-store for $99. I picked up both navy and gray last week.
ReplyDelete@ Jacquie
ReplyDeletePlease give me your review of the Bonnie Blazer. I was getting very excited for it until someone else in this post mentioned it's a little boxy.....
Size up or true to size?
it is a little boxy, but I'm taking one to the tailor on Monday to get it shaped. I actually don't mind it being boxy, because it's very slight.
ReplyDeleteI;m normally an 8 or 10 in jackets, I got these in a 10 (I like to layer) and they fit fine.
Excited about new stuff, would just like to see some more bold colors.
