Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  4. Good luck at the clearance store, JCJD - I love hearing about those finds!

  5. Where is the clearance store/ warehouse sale? How do you find out about these locations and sales? Also going to the b&m tonight, we'll see what they're offering!

    ReplyDelete
  6. There is a clearance store in Arden, nc and two in Lynchburg, va. You have to sign up in the store to get their emails. They have sales at most once a month but less lately because, the employees say, they are running out of stuff to put in the sales.

  7. I'm tempted by some dresses from the new rollout I would love to see in person! Not sure if I'll buy while full price... I am going to try to stop in!

  8. Desert Flower, are you still looking for the Laporte blouse? It looks Factory has one now ($68 minus 30%). Item #37446.

  9. JCrewJD,

What times is the one in Arden this weekend? Thanks.

  10. So jealous, JCrewJD! I'd love to visit the clearance or warehouse center! Tell us how it is :). Very interesting they have less stuff to put out...

  11. Do let us know what you find, JCJD!

  12. J.CrewJD: I was going to go to the warehouse sale, too, but think I should sit it out since I am still recovering from the flu. It's intense! For those of you interested, I can forward you the "official" email I got from the Clearance Center giving you date, time, and address. Send me an email at musingsonmtn AT gmail DOT com.

  13. I'll go basically to pick up a catalog since I don't get them timely- the Feb one just came in the mail this week!

    ReplyDelete
  14. ^^ and by "intense" I meant the warehouse sale, not the flu, although it was intense as well :)

  15. Just posted more pics of the new arrivals (a few skirts and dresses). Enjoy!

Yesterday I saw the indian voile boy shirt in a beautiful aqua color that wasn't offered before!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I was browsing the sale section and noticed some further markdowns, before 30% additional off.
    - Stripe drawstring dress is $39.99 (before $49.99);
    - stripe blossom cami 29.99 (before 39.99 I think);
    - cropped commodore blazer 69.99 (was $89.99, although it would have to be 39.99 for me to even consider the gigantic pockets -- is it so you can fit an ipad in there??, -- some of the shoes too (didn't check closely, i never find anything my size anyway)

  17. need to clarify: sale section ONLINE, not in store. But am going to the store today and will report on new sale items (haven't been in store for a while though, so any news might be old news).

    ReplyDelete
  18. I saw they put the Cadabra sweater in the sale section online. I am curious about how it looks, but it looks to me to have SAS (skinny arm syndrome), so I'm not going to buy before trying.

    ReplyDelete
  19. As we all know Jcrew prices have elastic in them...
I was loving the factory rugby stripe silk top. Yesterday I was excited about $49.99 price tag and then 30% off today I'm sad about a $64.50 price tag even if I get to take the 30% off because now I know I should have followed my discount 3rd sense and bought it at it's one day debut price of $49.99.

    Sigh....

  20. I went on Wednesday, and bought the In-Store "Vineyard" Pencil Skirt (it has pockets!), #38061 and the In-Store, Rialta Tweed Pencil Skirt, #38793. Audreybella has pics on her blog. Both are TTS, and unique. Once again the crew gets it right with the pencil skirts. :-)

  21. What's up with J.Crew removing items from the sale and returning them to full price. I have items to return this weekend that were on sale and I was going to buy them back but now they are full price again. I'm still going to return them but not buy them back till they are on sale again. It's bound to happen right??

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not going to the sale after all... was supposed to fly down there today but a massive snowstorm decided that wouldn't be happening. Sadface.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, and it is 10-4 Sat and Sun, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Newp, my stealth extra 30% off order is arriving today, so I think I'm good as far as B&M visits. But I can't say I won't place another sale order depending on what pops up! :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. MeganCrew, you are totally right on the price changes on Factory! I put in an order yesterday for four items that were on sale, so I got the 30% off. And today, two of those items are at a higher price. Lame! So glad I pulled the trigger yesterday . . .even though in theory I'm not supposed to be able to shop Factory on a Thursday.

    Seriously J Crew, what gives?!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anyone know if there are new arrivals in stores as well?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love the print on the Gallerista dress. I wish they would do that print in a nice cardigan and a solid knee length skirt. I would order both instantly.

  29. That's too bad, JCJD! :-(
    This winter weather sucks!
*starts daydreaming of awesome J.Crew-inspired summer outfits...*

  30. Appgal hope you feel better from the flu. This season the flu and cold is pretty bad.

I wouldn't be going this weekend...hope to go next week to check out new arrivals.

  31. JenLynn-

I had a very nasty conversation with the online assistant; I had suiting pieces that were sale, in my cart last night..ready to buy today with the 30% and my tax refund..and pop-full price again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I bought the Super 120s accordion dress online and just got it yesterday. WAY TOO BIG. Supersized! I know I haven't lost that much weight! So cute, but not cute if it doesn't cut in at the waste. Item #36525

    ReplyDelete
  33. ElleBelle,

I know! I used a gift card so I needed to return the full price items I bought a week ago before repurchasing. I thought I had until Monday night for the 30% off; I had no idea that they would take them out of the sale section. I could understand if it was a suiting promo but to my knowledge it was not. They also took many suiting items out of the sale that had been final sale for over a month. The suiting item count went from 43 last night to 18 this morning. I'm so fed up with the games and regretting not ordering a day earlier or ordering and then it going on sale a day later.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just wondering if anyone has tried/bought the Cotton Lace Shift Dress (381989)? It looks very cute online.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lots of new sale stuff in store. I did a quick review on my blog, www.shoppingonthefly.blogspot.com. I recommend going to a store to try things out, then ordering online with the 30% off.

    ReplyDelete
  36. ElleBelle and JenLynn I am in the same boat. I had two suiting dresses in my cart and when I saw they went back to full price I decided to not order anything. So annoying!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I stopped in quickly just to gather a March issue. Sale section was a quick pass - ratty tees, and those Dolly Parton denim dresses. Saw the Rialta tweed skirt. Why why WHY did they use an exposed zipper? Is it anything other than a cost-cutting move? It certainly isn't chic. Je suis triste.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Barbabelle, those exposed zippers are such a terrible trend. They do nothing to enhance and only detract from the garments IMO. I got excited when I saw the Liberty Vintage Floral Mini, until I took a look at the back view - bright yellow exposed zipper!

I see this trend everywhere and it looks so cheap, I just don't get it at all. Total dealbreaker for me every time. :^(

    ReplyDelete
  39. Is the Silk Blythe blouse marked down or on promo at any stores yet?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Has anyone tried the Bowdelaire ballet flats? I am wondering if they run tts and if they look cheap in person? I am in love with them (online) I think they would be such a sweet addition to almost any outfit, opinions please? :) thanks ladies!

  41. I received one of my 20% off orders today, including the Jackie twinsetin neon azalea. The color is a gorgeous, saturated bubble-gum pink, slightly darker than it appears on my monitor. So pretty, I can't wait to wear it. I believe it is close to the neon azalea of the featherweight cotton bling-button cardi from last summer. I store my summer clothes in the off season so can't readily check but from member I would say it is the same color or very close.

ClosetCrisis did mention that she felt the Jackie's were a bit thinner this season and I have to say that they might be, but the difference is very slight. I "felt up" my old and new Jackie's and they are pretty similar unless I compare the ones from a few years back when they were definitely thicker and softer. Fabric content listed on the tag has not changed:
    66% cotton
    29% nylon
    5% spandex

I have many of these Jackie twinsets and I love and wear them all. I used to buy just the cardi but now buy the set because I like to wear the shell on it's own, under a jacket or different color sweater and also over a button-down as a vest in the winter. Now to decide on the next color. :^)

  42. I've been looking for a short trench coat, item #28170 in size 0 or 2 and never had a chance to fine it. Does anyone have it andy like to sell it? Thank you very much!

  43. I'm headed to Houston tomorrow for a conference, so I'll be visiting the b&m there. I hope it's a nice one. While I'm excited to go to Houston, I wish I was trying on the new items with my ps here. I'm very interested in vineyard pencil skirt - anyone willing to share how much it costs? :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. math teacher: I have my eye on that skirt, too! It's $128, according to AudreyBella (see pics and info on her blog here). I love leaf prints and I love pencil skirts so...no brainer there!

    ReplyDelete
  45. AppGal, thanks. I checked out her blog (that's where I saw the pic) but somehow missed the price! I'll blame that on the fact that it's a Friday. :) Hope you're feeling all better soon!

    ReplyDelete
  46. If you are interested in the silk driving scarf in the "modern red" (orange floral print) I can confirm that the same item (same style #, same color code) is available at the Crewlet for substantially less. FP online is $59.50, Crewlet price is $44.50 - 25% ($33.37). After I ordered at FP I read about the Crewlet price here and placed a charge-send order. I receive them both and can verify that they are identical. Lovely scarf, but what a rip-off. FP version is going back and they'd better refund my shipping too.

  47. If anyone has a catalog coupon and you are not planing to use it, please send me note and I will buy it from you. Thank you! Christina

  48. J.Crew sale site is pretty blah today. There was a minor update and a few things I'm stalking came back but not in my size.

Got a 15% off email for Boden UK site so placed a fair size order there, although a lot of spring items are already backordered. I find Boden UK sizing a bit tricky and the U.S. site won't ship to Canada but thankfully they are really great with returns. Now that Dina has a Boden weekly exchange on her blog I can always offer up any potential returns there as well.

Will be checking for Sunday and Monday restocks but at this point I think I'm better off focusing on J.Crew's new spring arrivals.

  49. Stopped by a couple of J.Crews today. Was very excited to find the Tulip Ruffle Cami (38803) out @ Rockefeller Center (NYC). It does run a bit short, like how it looks on the model, but I found it VERY flattering in my usual size. I bought what I think is the Aspen Blue but the color is darker in real life...don't think it's the Dragonfly Blue as the tone matches the Aspen Blue better. I'll be running a review of it soon. :)

  50. Hi

    Here in snowbound Canada!

Would someone be able to tell me how the Braidee platform heels are fitting? I sized up one size in the Langfords because of the platform.

Or, has anyone seen the Milano Gladiator Wedges? Which would you choose?

    Happy shovelling!

  51. I was able to grab a few things early this morning -- finally bit on my Heidi dress (prince of wales plaid) and went ahead and got the origami dress in heather elm.

Got my lady day in torch orange yesterday and I'm in love with it. I probably won't get to wear it that much, but hopefully that means it will last a long time. Fits like a glove when I size one full size up. I do wish I'd got a tall; I thought I did but I checked the slip & I didn't. The coat was clearly a return, though. No matter.

Daaaaaaaamn those trouper pants are TIGHT on the calves, and I don't have big calves either! They do fit much better in the waist than the size 10s, but they're still too tight to be able to wear them to work. Weekend only, I guess. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Received my Trooper pants in both colors and I love them!! I got a size six and although the legs seem to fit perfectly, the waist is still too big. I guess I will be belting them. Stopped by B&M today... I have to say, I was pretty bored with the spring selection. There was nothing that really stood out to me as a "must have". Even the sale section was blah. I picked up the Stila creme blush duo and a couple of nail polishes. I am now waiting for my double serge pencil skirt in bronzed ochre which I am so excited about. I have been stalking for months and it was worth the wait b/c for 60 bucks I feel I did great!

    ReplyDelete
  53. oops!! that was me above..signed in as my husband by accident =)

    ReplyDelete
  54. CrewGurl: You should give these a try so that you don't have to wear a belt with the pants (unless you want to). I've been using them since last August to *fix* the gaping waist problem on my pants and jeans. They work great...highly recommend. :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Can I get some words of wisdom from you ladies? The Widelegger Madewell Jeans are basically sold out and I could call around to the stores and snail mail the wrong size back or just be patient and wait for them to restock.

When high demand Jcrew items sell out do they generally restock and how long does it take. I chatted with a csr and she wasn't aware of any future attempt to restock them but I don't think that seems logical from a business stand point and bet they will.

    Thanks!

  56. Clicquot: I have the lace shift dress in ivory. The material is a nice weave, more substantial than the slub cotton of their tees but less thick than the maritime dress. I love lace and embroidery and thought it might be cute. I sized down as i think it runs large (thought lately, i'm sizing down in most knit tops). I don't consider it and wouldn't wear it as a dress, a coverup for the beach or loungewear maybe. I plan to wear it as a night gown / chemise.

  57. Visiting J.Crew this weekend. The Chicago store on Michigan Ave has a few suiting dresses for $99. The silk pocket tees are NOT on sale in the store. The ruffle cami is so SWEET but they only had it in the almond/white color - yuck on my skin. Wish that the store had extra 30% off. Has anyone tried the Oleander Lace dress? OMG i DIE over that thing! Going to visit a 2nd location today around noon when they open. Hoping for more options in the suiting dresses. If not, back to Michigan Ave I go!

  61. The factory silk Twyla tanks (stripe and print) are marked $19.97 + 30% off at my local crewlet. Picked up the navy stripe one. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I actually purchased from the factory today, and I was pleasantly pleased. I didn't think I would get anything. I got the Chambray schoolboy blazer, and the Linen Twill Blazer and it came up to 98.20. I used the promotion and the rewards card.

  63. FabulousFloridaMommy:

Thanks for the suggestion! I am a bit confused though. Do you leave the old button on, or do you remove it? I think I'm missing something here because I'm picturing that you will be able to see the original button underneath the material.. ?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I did it again!! I have to remember to sign out of his account! =)

    ReplyDelete
  65. CrewGurl: The Instant Button goes beside the existing button. The only button you will see is the instant one that makes your pants fit without wearing a belt. HTH! :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. OT: The Madewell Widelegger is back online this morning in all sizes with a waitlist date of 7.4.11.
