Highly recommend the Talbots Tres Jolie skirt. I tried it on in store, and ordered a smaller size on the red phone (I hope it ships!) It will be a great summer skirt, comes in petites for women who want less length, and is a great fabric blend that will be cool in summer but not as wrinkly as pure cotton or linent.

It really made me feel like my business was something they wanted and I'll definitely be shopping there more often because of the great CS (probably the whole point, but it was still nice)!

ReplyDeleteGAP had a 40% off sale items promotion going on, and I bought the Metallic Skirt for $26. My local B&M still has that promotion, so it might be worthwhile to take a look. BTW, this skirt is a great alternative to the Surf Tweed Charter Skirt from last year and it's a bit longer and more wearable IMO.

ReplyDeleteI am loving Canvas. A few weeks ago I ordered the the Heritage Boatneck Sailor Tee and I think it is great. It is similar to the St James shirts that JCrew is selling for half the price. Not only in look but it has that heavier knit feel that the St. James shirts have.

Love the sale going on this week at LE Canvas. I spent under $20 and got a lovely wool skirt and a henley-style shirt. This is a sale that the % off goes up each day. Friday will be 75% off whatever is left.

I popped into Bannana the other dey and picked up a lovely pair weekend chinos on sale for about $30. Super soft comfy and versitile, but that is not really what I'm here to tell you about;
ReplyDeleteAt the check out the salesgirl handed me one of those "Surprise" sort of coupons for 25%, 30%, or 50% off an entire purchase, March 5th and 12th. I opened it up as I was walking out fully expecting to recive 25% off and WHAM: 50% OFF! Oh La Vache! That sort of thing never seems to happen to me, needless to say I was tickled pink.
I also would like to anounce my love for landsend canvas.
However, one should be aware that often canvas runs large, I ordinarly wear a 4 and last week I recived a (delightful) cord mini in a 0 that is still a touch big at the waist.

ReplyDeleteLoft - They've had 40% off clearance. It might be worth a look if you'll be near one. The military wool blazer with faux fur at the net $38 price and in my correct size of 6P looked good. The faux fur is removable and I quite like the green wool jacket on its own.

ReplyDeleteI see that the Land's End Canvas Stripe Boyfriend V-neck Cardigan is on sale for $10.00, which I bought in Ivory/True Navy for about $20.00 last week (and I thought that had been a good deal!). But they no longer have any in my size (XS) so it's just as well...;-)

Crew's buffalo check boy shirt (=me), there's the gingham poplin shirt from Lands' End Canvas AND another option I found today at Target for $19.99. It's from the Merona brand and is a bit softer than the J. Crew style, and comes in red, green, and a light gray. (And I *think* orange.) It's not online (yet?); I found it in the store, and I think it's the perfect alternative for $20!
ReplyDeleteAudrey: The gingham Merona shirts at Target were available online but completely sold out. That's why they don't show up now. If Target gets more stock in they'll show up again though. :)
ReplyDeleteFFM: Ah, thanks, I'm late to the game... I only hopped on the gingham train this year. They seemed pretty well-stocked in the store (2-3 of the shirt in each size and color out on the floor, NYC Atlantic Terminal Target), so maybe that will help someone!
