Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)
This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.
If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.
Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.
I LOVE the active exchange of PAST J. Crew items. You know, when quality was stellar. So stellar that you can purchase a coat or cashmere sweater from five years ago and still have it look new. :)
ReplyDeleteITA, minzunuami. The quality and workmanship that went through those previous styles are superb. I think that's why I'm still in search of the older items.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I have to thank fellow JCAs and Alexis for making this community come to existence. I would have never been able to get some fabulous old gems so quickly if it weren't for the generous JCAs and Alexis for hosting the weekly exchange. Bless you all!
good morning!
ReplyDeletesub :o)
I have two old-school raves (along the lines of minzunuami's post, which ITA with 500%!). Last week I was fortunate to find 2 lovelies on eBay ... the elusive Juliette pink ruffled wool jacket and a Factory Bella in a deep, dark fuchsia color. I just LOVE both! The detail on the Juliette jacket is breathtaking. I need to lose a few more pounds to fit into it just right, but it's a great motivator. My only beef with is that the color has worn off most of the buttons, which is so odd! I knew it before I bought it, though, and I think I'm going to just buy some new buttons for it.
ReplyDeleteAnd it may be heresy, but dar I say I like my Factory wool Bellas better than my retail ones? This is my 2nd wool Factory Bella and the slight percentage of synthetics in it give it a much softer feel, and it's not a bit itchy like my Retail Bellas. the color is just gorgeous, but the jacket's a size 12 and I need to have it tailored down a bit. I'm a little nervous but hoping for the best.
Oh, almost forgot, this week's exchange brought me a goodie I've been seeking for YEARS -- the Boo-Coo Tours tee with the gator @ the little beaded birdie! LOVE!
I just love, love, love y'all and this blog. I am so very happy to have found you. (My wallet isn't happy, but my heart is! :) And I've been thrilled to clear out some great items to love homes in the past few weeks as my closets hit critical mass.
YES! I love the Weekly Exchange. I have had some great transactions both ways. Although I did buy a pair of shoes that never arrived and the seller had no tracking info or insurance and would not give me a refund. It was really frustrating and now I insist on, and pay for insurance on anything I buy or sell. Just a word of caution because there is no built-in protection, even with paypal.
ReplyDeleteI know there have been some complaints about the prices of the shoes, but the ones that I've received have been gorgeous, high quality materials and workmanship rivaling shoes that cost well more. And when they go on sale and there's a percent-off promo, they are excellent deals.
ReplyDeleteI want to add too that I love love love the straight heels on the J Crew shoes like Gibson and Lindy. I have a small foot and don't like skinny heels or heels that curve inward toward the instep because they make my feet look even smaller. Plus, I'm a huge 1970's clothing fan, and the straight heel was so big back then.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to chime in with the love for the exchange and the love of some past items that I have very luckily been able to find. I also want to send some praise to my personal shoppers..they have gone above and beyond for me, and I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI too love the weekly exchange. I scored two pairs of Juliet heels this week... which made me very happy. I have had scores of awesome transactions with fellow JCAs, both buying and selling. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to give a shout-out to J.Crew's CS. About a year ago I wrote them because I was sad to no longer receive catalogs.
ReplyDeleteSince then, every month they have been hand-mailing me a copy of the catalog with a nice note inside. Whoever took my request has seen it through for 12 months and I appreciate it so much!!
After much stalking, I finally scored the gilded leopard collection flats that I was dying for. I ordered them on Tuesday and they shipped the same day. Woohoo! They arrived in perfect condition and I'm so pleased. Now, I can only hope that the 2 orders I placed during the promo will have the same luck.
