"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)

This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. Got a suit in the last 40% promo, love it, it sounds silly to say but the black is a very nice color everything fits well. Was a bit aprehensive but as soon as I steam it I think it's going to be great - definitely worth more than I paid. Just as happy with the perfect fit boatnecks I got in navy and green - they're perfect for work for me, comfy, substantial enough there's no inappropriateness but thin enough to fit well under a suit and anything else.

  3. Bought the Maritime striped blazer last night with my rewards card. Love it! But beware of buying it on-line!

I believe this blazer has many of the same issues as the striped hoodie with the crooked pocket. I'm an XS and I ended up taking four XS's into the fitting room before finding one that fit right. For some reason, the seams that run from the collar down to your shoulder are off! Like weird off! Some of them are so far back that it makes the front lapel kind of pucker. Ick! Thankfully the SA was super nice and brought me all of the XS's in the jacket so I could find one that fits. We both agreed that it is probably the fabric choice that is making the sewing of the seams off. It might stretch out while making it? Probably the same issue with the hoodie.

I will say that I did find one that looks good . . .but I'll admit that even this one doesn't fit perfectly. I would suggest waiting for this to go on sale, but you should try to get it in store. I would fear what you'd receive in an on-line order. The only reason I purchased it full price was that a) I had a rewards card which is like free money to me, and b) I wanted to wear it to a golf tournament this weekend.

Otherwise, the tuxedo henley in the white/cambray is super cute! But I'm waiting for that one to go on sale. :) Hope that helps!

  4. Pretty much OT, but has anyone else noticed that the entire jewelry section says "free shipping" under the items? I noticed this last night, but then my internet connection went on the fritz. I don't see any mention of it anywhere else on the site, nor have there been any emails I'm aware of. Is this typical for them to have such a hidden promo like that? Wait, who am I talking about again?! :)

There's a couple of things I would totally pounce on if they were on promo too!
