"
Thanks!" to
Julie who let us know about J.Crew's latest email promoting the Lulu Flats. I am normally a big fan of J.Crew flats, but I am not sure how I feel about these. I am not a super big fan of these bows on the side (and I love bows!), even though the bow seems to work very well on the heel version. However, I may change my mind when I see and try these flats on in person. ;)
Flats:
- Lulu leather ballet flats (Item 96608; $160.00)
- Lulu metallic-leather ballet flats (Item 96725, $165.00)
Heels
- Lulu leather peep toes (Item 96727, $198.00)
- Lulu metallic-leather peep toes (Item 96726, $250.00)
What are your thoughts on the Lulu flats? Do you like or loathe them? Do you prefer the flats or the heel version? If you own any of the Lulu shoes, please let us know what you think. :)
I LOVE both versions, but am hoping they go on sale soon...will probably buy the heel if/when they do!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE bows, and I think these shoes are absolutely adorable! I haven't seen them in person so I can't attest to the quality or appearance, but they sure do look cute on the web! :)
ReplyDeleteI did not like either version when I first saw them but I think I am reconsidering that opinion! I was just looking at these last night, thinking may I ought to order a pair to try ... ! The heels are too fussy for my style. I think I prefer the flats.
ReplyDeleteThey remind me of the old Sam & Libby shoes so popular in the 80's.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THESE--love bows on shoes and think these look refined enough in either the flat or the heel. I would by them--on sale. Haven't tried them on or seen in person.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried these on or own them that talk about fit and comfort etc.?? I am curious.
I just got a pair of the Lulu flats in Honey Glaze and I must say, they are absolutely adorable. I want a pair of the Metallic Heels when they go on sale! I would say they fit a lot like J.Crew flats have lately. I bought the Lucia flats last fall and they were the first that felt really snug on me. I have a tons of flats and I have always fit well into a size 8 and never had a problem. But since Lucia, it feels like I am a size too small, and my toes are pinched and it feels tight. But once you "break in" the shoe, in time they don't hurt at all. It's kinda of frustrating to have to go through this process to comfortably wear my J.Crew shoes, but I'm a sucker for them. They're so stylish. So, I will continue wearing my flats around my bedroom with my PJs on until I can wear them out for longer periods of time :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review Mary!
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the metallic ones, but I already have a pair of peeptoes with a bow near the toes (orange satin, bcbg) and the bow has gotten so dirty. :( Maybe I just need to be more careful, but it's hard to keep the bow looking as nice as when I first purchased them.
ReplyDeletejennileigh,
ReplyDeleteI had those! The flats, in purple, black, and a weird bronzey color. Worn with my leggins with lace at the ankles, of course. lol!
i LOVE the look of these, they are so cute! but i have a fear of jcrew shoes now, they hurt my poor feet. nothing but cole haan nike airs for me anymore.
ReplyDeleteI actually fell in love with these shoes the first time I saw them. I love flats because sometimes heels make me the same height as my husband, and I abosolutely adore bows. I think the bow on the side adds an unexpeted twist, and I enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI am not going to lie.. I am wearing my dark cloud lulu flats today! They are a little big, but I still love them!
ReplyDeletejennileigh: That's what I think too! And I remember my mom used to make me wear a particularly hideous pair all the time. Ever since then, I can't wear flats with bows on the toe part without feeling traumatized! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hate patent leather, which is unfortunate for me this season. :(
Love them; the bows, the colours, the style.
ReplyDeletePrice is a bit steep for me, maybe I can snag them on sale
I love the look of J Crew's flats and wish that I looked nice in them like so many of you obviously do. Unfortunately, if I don't wear at least a small heel I look super short! I do love J Crew's Capri Sandals and have several pairs of them! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh I love these! Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI loved these when I saw them on the website and immediately ordered the heels in pink. I have to say that I was really unimpressed with the quality. The bow is patent, but it looks really cheap and "plasticky". And where the bow was sewn/stuck on the top of the shoe, the shoe indented so you could feel it when you were wearing the shoe. I was so upset, as I had been so excited about them. But they went back because they were just that badly made. I would recommend the Trixie shoes (super cute) over these.
ReplyDeleteI ordered the dark cloud heels and like them a lot, but I sent them back as I didn't really like the color (it's a little bit mottled, btw). Still can't decide whether to go for the sienna or honey glazed. Probably wait until they go on sale.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the flats as much.
I like the peeptoe heels. Only thing, for those living in other than southern climates, it will soon be too cold to wear the peeptoes.
ReplyDeleteI want a pair of the flats. Love the colors and the bows. However, I will not pay $160 for discomfort. If they go down to $98, I will snatch them up
ReplyDeleteI looove the Trixie heels another poster mentioned. But again, way over priced. I could buy a pair of Chie Mihara's marked down slightly for $248 and they are the most comfortable, tts, well made shoes I own.
Oh, I likey very much. Waiting for a sale though...
ReplyDeleteI am so upset that the flats didn't come in the tulip color! My PS showed me the look book at the beginning of fall - I saw the heels in tulip and assumed the flats would come in it as well. Boo, J. Crew!
ReplyDeleteI like the flats, but I haven't seen these in person. I wish my b&m had them, b/c I'd really like to try them on. I would only buy these on sale, and then you're stuck with them.
ReplyDeleteI love these too. I have the heels in the gray. I was somewhat worried that the bow might be too big, but is definitely not. I think it is just right! And it does not get dirty and stays shiny due to the material. I really want the flats in the tan color (and want to get the Jamie bag to match)! That would be a pretty big purchase tho, so I am waiting to see if they go on sale anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the concept, but would rather see them in printed materials with a fabric instead of a leather bow.
