Yes, it is that wonderful time again! :)
In the October Catalog, J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code DH-80. This offer expires 10/4/08. :)
Also, JenG mentioned (in this post) that she received a "$25 off $125+" in-store coupon in her catalog.
Did you receive the catalog (by mail) yet? If so, what are your thoughts? Did you get a special in-store or online promotional coupon/code? :)
Totally OT: I did not apply the "Cookie Magazine" promotion but nonetheless the Sept issue of Cookie showed up in my mailbox last night without explanation. The address label says and I am subscribed thru 09/09...did anyone else get this?
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see this catalog ... does this one feature the new arrivals that you see online? I think I will go to my store tomorrow and I'll check then for the new catalog!
ReplyDeleteI'm hedging making a big purchase, any thoughts from anyone on whether a 15 or 20% code is coming anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteAnon at 11:58 - the same thing happened to me!
ReplyDeleteI went to the cookie website and unsubscribed myself. But if you're a parent, it could be a good deal!
I got a $25 off $125 purchase in my catalog. For in-store use only...
ReplyDeleteJenG.
I wonder how they decide who gets what when they send out their promos??
I used the ISB code and received fs $20.00 off was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the
ReplyDeleteMerino Paige jacket $198.00 item 98461. Has anyone tried this on or own it yet? The price is a bit steep, but considering the only color is black, the price will hopefully come down. I could see wearing this into November. I hope it looks as good on as I am dreaming...
I too am wondering if there is going to be another "20% off final sale items" coupon coming our way. Don't they need to clear out that old merchandise?
ReplyDeleteI got the thin version of this thru mail; the thicker one in store, but sadly, no coupon. =( Oh well.
ReplyDeleteMelanie, yep, this is the one with the new online arrivals.
JenG, thanks for the promo code update!
mspmommy and Anon at 1:04, a sale like that sounds good right about now to me too. ;)
Tigs, that jacket looks tres chic. Hadn't seen it before, so thanks for making me aware of it.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I also agree it's too pricey - it's a perfect example, I think, of J.Crew's new pricing. It's about $50 more than a sweater-jacket should be. I think a year ago this would have been around $148; now we're looking at nearly $200. I've noticed that with a lot of the fall items - sweaters and skirts that are very similar to what was offered last year are considerably more expensive.
So, like others on here, I'll be waiting to see what goes down in price :-)
for some reason, the duchamp coat made a better impression on me in the catalogue than online. Not that I am buying it (too expensive for me right now!) but I have a much more positive opinion of it now.
ReplyDeleteThe huge floral pins are ridiculous. The peach one is kind of pretty, but at $90... are you kidding, jcrew? I could go to a craft store and hotglue a bunch of fake flowers together and make my own pin for less than $10!
I got the catalogue with the free shipping code. Anon 11:58, I received "Cookie" magazine as well. I think I might keep the subscription....
ReplyDeleteOn another note, does anyone know whether a shipping code and a student discount can be used together? I'm thinking of purchasing the Greta coat (huge investment!) but will probably only do it if I can combine the discounts....
Tigs, I love the look of the Merino Paige jacket. It kinda reminds me of the 3/4 length Louisa merino sweater jacket from last fall. It's very chic.
ReplyDeleteI recently received two of the "If.." catalogs - one was addressed to me and one was addressed to DH. DH's catalog was the one with the $25 off $125...which DH found humorous!
ReplyDeletei got the catalog but no discount code.
ReplyDeleteand i really like the flower pins, but i can't believe how expensive they are. i have a feeling we'll see them smushed in a clear container during clearance time.
What does everyone think of the Lofty Cashmere Shawl Sweater? It seems to be selling out quickly in the good colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for my copy of the catalog, I'm hoping it'll be waiting for me at home tonight.
ReplyDeleteAfter blowing my budget in late August and early September I'm on a J.Crew slow down. Not for any reason other than I have tons of new items and I need nothing, BUT I am considering the Sherpa hoodie, in either dark brown or red. It's Alexis' fault, her post about the hoodie reminded me I 'need' one. ;)
j crew guy in canada: I am still waiting for my catalog too, I also live in Canada. We used to get them early, I wondered what happened. I know JC wasn't happy when we tried to order from it before everyone else in the US received it.
ReplyDeletej crew guy: The Sherpa hoodie is worth it, I bought the womens one and I love it.
ReplyDeleteOkay casual crew, you've convinced me, I'll email me PS and get it. Oh how easily I weaken. Thanks for the review by the way.
ReplyDeleteJust got the mail and the catalog was there. I plan to get on the treadmill and run and look it over. I bet I end up with more than the sherpa hoodie.
This is OT, but my b&m still has 25% off final sale merch and has marked a few things down more (like the yellow Watson pants to $19, Cotton Tafetta Belle skirt to $19).
ReplyDeleteI, too, am waiting on another % off promo code ... I don't even care if it's on sale or just regular priced merch - either way there's a lot of things I want to order!
lindsey b - I did my big order last fri. and took advantage of the fs code, it works out about the same as the private sale code. I noticed that stuff is selling out fast with no waitlisted dates. I don't know if this is a system glitch but If you really want something go for it.
ReplyDeleteA teense annoyed here -- I didn't get the Favorites $25 or $50 card in the mail nor did I get a coupon in my catalog. Is the coupon printed on a page, or inserted as a small card within the catalog? I've scoured, but don't see anything.
ReplyDeletegigiofca: The free shipping code was on a small square made out of the same catalog paper and attached to the catalog a couple of pages in. A small circle was printed on the bottom left of the front of the catalog indicating the free shipping offer was inside. So I don't think you would have missed it. But, it was only in one of the three catalogs I recieved, so i think that it is hit or miss.
ReplyDeleteI received my October catalog yesterday and included was the $25 off $125 in-store coupon! While I'm extremely happy for receiving this offer, my bank account sure is not happy with me contemplating another Jcrew order/shopping trip within the same month. *lol*
ReplyDeletelovesargyle - That's what I thought. Thanks. :-)
ReplyDeleteTracey: the Lofty Cashmere Shawl Sweater is pretty and it looks like you could wear it with anything. I wonder how long it really is...it definitely hits below the tall model's hip! Maybe she is modelling a larger size. It seems to be selling out in size XS so that's a good indication it may be running a bit on the larger end of the size charts.
ReplyDeleteI have a JCrew sweater very similiar in style from summer 2007 that's basically a beach cover-up sweater. The collar on my sweater seems huge. This one looks like it has better proportions. If I could've returned my sweater from summer 2007 for one size smaller I would have but it was final sale.
Just wanted to let you know that I tried the code PEEKABOO online today and bought only women's clothes and it worked! Thanks for this website.
ReplyDeletecasual-crew: Ordered the sherpa hoodie and a tie in navy with turtle critters on it to get me over the magic $100 mark so I could use the peekaboo code. Thanks again for enabling my addictions. ;)
ReplyDeleteJ Crew Guy in Canada: You got it that is great, I don't think you will be disappointed with it. I love mine, it is so cozy.
ReplyDeleteMy catalog finally arrived today, and my big order from last week shipped out, so I have to take a cc break for awhile....at least until the Holiday rollout!
