I have asked FFM to regularly guest blog about outfits she creates with items that you, the members, request- and she has agreed to! :)
Are there any items from J.Crew (that you either own or are thinking about getting) that you would like outfit ideas. Feel free to include additional info like: the climate/season you want to wear the item/outfit, as well as age bracket/lifestyle. :) After a few days, FFM will select a few items (from the feedback) to create a couple of Polyvore outfits with those items (which will then be posted for all).
What J.Crew pieces do you often wonder how to use in an outfit? What J.Crew items would you like to see an outfit created for (please include item name or item number)? Do you have any J.Crew items in your closet that you are unsure how to style with? Please, let us know! :)
FFM: These outfits are fabulous! What a great eye. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about ways to add versatility to the dream Silvie dress. I liked it a lot plain, i can see myself getting lazy and just throwing it on in fall weather. But it'd be nice to know of other ways to wear it. :) Thanks!!
I have a lot of the items featured, and I'm looking forward to learning some new ways to mix and match.
ReplyDeleteFFM: Great job! It looks like you put a lot of hard work into this. I know who to turn to when I need a good outfit idea!
ReplyDeleteOoh, okay, I do have something that I need an outfit idea for:
ReplyDeleteWhisper Lame Tank in Dark Gold (the one that just recently went to final sale). I am a 27 year old who passes for 22, and want a fun, casual way to wear this that isn't necessarily just a going out on the town kind of look.
Thank you!!
I live in Florida too so I am always looking for ways to make the fall/winter jcrew look work down here. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteFFM: I'd love some ideas on how to wear my brillant blue olivia shell in the fall
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the sea glass piper tank outfits:)
ReplyDeleteI also got a lot of ideas looking at the other items...thank again:)
What ideas do you have, FFM:) for the snow leopard peacoat for a 40ish degree wet fall/winter in the UK for a late 30's aged gal? walking her daughter to and from school each day...wanting to look chic but not over done...Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteAlso, a possible slightly dressy look for a night out with hubby:)
FFM:
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear your suggestions re: the cloque pencil skirt for work. I have the Juliet mid heels in almond. Also do you have any suggestions for the Andrea jacket in honey glaze for work?
Love this idea! I just bought the Astrid jacket in heather charcoal and am looking for non-cliche ways to wear it (e.g., downplay the Chanel reference and wear it more young & hip, dressy & casual). What colors, besides, black, grey & white would you pair with it?
ReplyDeleteFFM: thank you again for the ideas for the ruffle shirt dress! They are fab. All these outfits are great, and you've given us all so many good ideas!
ReplyDeleteJ Crew needs to hire you ;)
FFM: What V-Neck cardi do you suggest for the Navy Elizabeth? Also, what could I wear my Katie Striped sweater in Ivory/Navy with? I need ideas that will look chic at PTA, football, cookouts, things like this...LOL. THANKS!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...I'm glad you have found my creations useful, and I really appreciate the compliments! Thanks again for all the new questions...keep them coming! :)
ReplyDeleteFFM: You're indeed fabulous! I also own several of those items, and while they might not be the same color, your outfits do give me inspiration to mix and match. Can't wait to see more outfits! :)
ReplyDeleteFFM: What would you pair with the Donegal tweed ecole jacket in sea green? I love all your looks you have great taste!
ReplyDeleteHi FFM, I LOVE all your suggestions, truly fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I was thinking, but I spent almost $800 at the PS event last week and could use your fabulous eye to help guide me b/c I may not be able to add many more new items after my splurge. I bought:
- Floral belle skirt
- Lydia blouse in plum
- Marcella blouse in moss
- Taffeta belle skirt in dark fog
- Cashmere flora dress in hthr carbon
- Kelsey tank dress in hthr graphite
- Boatneck city tee in eggplant and black
- Pintuck henley tissue tee in dark gray
- Carrie belt in black patent
- Tartine cardigan in black
- Ruffle henley tissue tee in bright blue
- Fave fit chino in dark fog
- Oh, and b4 the sale I bought the featherweight merino ruffle cardi in brilliant blue.
phew....that's about it. Can you help me FFM??? I live and work in NYC in marketing, and would love some of your FFM suggestions for work and going out.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
FMM: Great job. I look at your polyvore everyday. Thanks for all the ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS SO MUCH FFM for all the DARLING and FABULOUS IDEAS:)
ReplyDeleteHere's a new one--I am casual-lots of jeans and cute tops kinda gal.
Martine in heather graphite/green.
Anything besides the obvious white blouse or tank?
Thanks!
ali.cee 12:02 or anyone--
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the plum boatneck city tee in xsmall?? Or if you recall seeing LOTS of inventory in the plum/purple color.
Store location would be GREAT! THanks:)
FFM, you are amazing- thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you could transition the stretch vintage cord skirt in honey glaze into fall/winter. What color tights could you wear with it, or could you even wear tights?
Also, I have the Cynthia dress in Papaya...any color ideas would be great! I love the black Cynthia ideas. :)
melanie: So glad you like the outfits! What color do you have the Silvie dress in? It's very pretty, btw. :)
ReplyDeleteFFM: I have the metallic cloqué pencil skirt (96410). What would you suggest wearing on top? Since there is some gold metallic threading in the skirt, I'd like to downplay whatever I wear with it.
ReplyDeleteThe personal shopper at my store didn't have any great ideas. Online they pair it with honey glaze tops and I'm not sure I like that color combination.
Thanks.
Thanks, FFM. :) I like it a lot too. I have it in charcoal gray, and I probably won't get the camel or honey glaze. I loved the color honey glaze, but not on me! :) It made me look kind of jaundiced.
ReplyDeleteFFM:
ReplyDeleteI also have the cloque pencil skirt. How would you transition it from Fall to Winter?
tammylee: I was actually just working on a set for the Cloque' Skirt...I really like the Ivory Harlow Blouse with it, along with Gold Accessories. The set is Here . I also think that a basic white button down shirt would work in place of the Harlow blouse. The Chino Cooper Jacket in British Khaki would be a great option to go with the skirt, too. (I just received mine today and I am absolutely THRILLED with it...it is SO fabulous!)
ReplyDeleteFFM: Good ideas - thanks. Does the Chino Cooper Jacket have a bit of stretch to it - it almost looks that way in the image online.
ReplyDeletetammylee: The Cooper Jacket has a small amount of stretch, but not so much that it loses the integrity of it's shape. It is 100% Cotton, but has an almost silky feel to it...I was really pleasantly surprised, especially for the price. I made a second set for the Cloque' Skirt and included the Cooper in it: Click Here .
ReplyDeleteali.cee - I tried the floral belle skirt on yesterday and the sa suggested that I try the jackie cardigan in regal purple with it. I was doubtful, but I loved it so much that I called them this morning and asked them to hold the skirt for me. I never pay full price or that much! Here's my polyvore:
ReplyDeleteHere
(hope this works)
FFM: I like that outfit a lot! I especially like the boots - wish they weren't so pricey. I'm going to look for some that are similar but less expensive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammylee! Definitely look for something simliar in your personal price range...most pieces shown in the sets can be found at all different price points,so just use the set as a reference to find a similar item. Btw...I love the boots, too! That's why I use them frequently in my sets...sure wish I could afford them. :)
ReplyDeleteHow about cashmere cable cardigan, heather acorn, for business casual look that's good for law office but not too boring? Thanks. ;)
ReplyDeletePolyvore is so addicting. I've tried to limit myself to just one set a day, but that doesn't happen much. :) (I'm "Toastfacekillah" on polyvore).
ReplyDeletecass, I think that cardigan would look nice with the herringbone academy pant in sweet potato and the trixie heels in brilliant orange. I would put a solid perfect tee underneath (in champagne, perhaps) and keep it mostly buttoned.
oops some of my links didn't work. trixie heels in brilliant orange.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI have viewed your looks, and I must say that I think that you are great! A few of my newly ordered pieces that I am struggling with are the ACORN stretch boot-cut cords, and the tartine in heather mushroom. I thought that they would go together, but they do not in my opinion. I did just order the floral Lydia blouse, so it think that it will go well with the ACORN cords, right? Anyways, any suggestions for the tartine and the cords separately? Should I really try to wear a bright color on the bottom with the heather mushroom tartine? I am a tall girl who is a size 6, so brightly colored pants in the fall/winter do scare me a little. Thanks for any help!
Wow, I just explored further on Polyvore, and found options using both pieces I just mentioned--the tartine and stretch cords. I would gladly appreciate any additonal suggestions, but I had never discovered Polyvore before! That is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for everything! This blog is the best.
thanks heather. unfortunately those pants don't come in my size :P But I will look around for similar options.
ReplyDeletecass: What is the item number for your Cashmere Cable Cardigan? I can't find it online anymore, so I'm assuming it has sold out. The closest picture I have is one of the classic cashmere crewneck in Heather Wheat...is the Heather Acorn similar in color to it, or more like the Hazelnut? I would love to try to make a set for you, but need to use a substitute for your actual cardigan...which color is closest to represent it?
