This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
I did, and here's another review. Cafe capris in gilded brocade & the collection beaded crest shirt in this post.
ReplyDeletei really love the pattern on those pants, actually. if they were a different fit i would definitely go for them!
DeleteI am so drawn to the beaded crest shirt but it's too expensive (160 cdn) for me. It looks great on you, Gigi!
Delete@Amber - The fabric is beautiful. I ended up w/the gilded brocade top.
Delete@jan - As you saw, thumbs up on the beaded crest shirt. Maybe you'll see it on promo + 30% :)
I saw a bunch of French Hen sweaters this weekend, small and xs, the tan with blue hen at the Stonestown San Francisco location. My recollection is that they were marked 79.99 but I am not sure. So if you missed them the first time around, here is a chance!
ReplyDeleteI did some damage online since I am not in the US yet (just a few more weeks until I can visit US for some retail therapy). I ordered the Barbour Ferndown jacket with the promo. I always wanted to try Barbour.
ReplyDeleteI am considering some items from Factory since they have 30% off new arrivals and free shipping (no min) with code SPRINGONIT.
As of this past Saturday, J.Crew extended the LOVEJCREW/CARDMEMBER promotion until tomorrow (it was originally going to end today).
ReplyDeleteI wondered about that when I looked at the site last night. I had on my calendar today but will wait for tomorrow now. Don't see any must haves but thinking about an item or two. Glad to have another day to consider ordering.
DeleteI did quite a bit of damage this past week with the 25% off promo....three separate orders. Shameful, I know. I am due to receive the Boy Shirt in Strawberry Mint Plaid, 5" chino shorts in white, khaki, and soft mint, a Keeper Chambray shirt, two pairs of white Matchstick jeans (different sizes to try on), a white Boy Shirt, and a pair of leather Cece flats in vintage blush. I have a feeling a few items will be going back but I am hopeful I will be happy with the majority of my purchases.
ReplyDeletedidn't make it in this weekend but will hopefully swing by there tonight (need to make some returns)
ReplyDeleteI got a few things with the promo over the weekend but nothing else I want, I feel like most of the items in the sale section have been sitting there for months at the same price. If it stays the way it has I won't be buying much for a while after this last order, hardly anything in the new rollout interested me and the sale section has the same stuff.
ReplyDeleteWent to return a couple of items with the intention of not.buying.anything. But saw that the Micro-tweed jacket in Poppy was on sale for $119 - I've been lusting after it for a long time. Also picked up the violet Sera top and dusty Jade crinkle mini. So much for that return! ;)
ReplyDeleteDamage done - the pinwheel eyelet skirts (navy & neon rose) and the pink tweed jacket.
ReplyDeleteAlso some new reviews here.
JCAs...another review. The shoe sketch skirt in this post.
ReplyDeleteReceived my boxes this morning(yes, plural). I didn't have time to try on anything but the Everly Snakeskin Pumps in Parisian yellow, which I had been eagerly anticipating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge disappointment :(. It has made my whole day super dreary. I could have lived with the subdued, custard-y hue and even the sub-par, far below comfortable fit (the whole shoe is unbalanced and the vamp is too high above the foot).
What I really don't think that I can live with is the quality of the snakeskin. There are areas on the pumps where the scales have already lifted and yet still other areas where it is scratched? off. Not to mention the cost-cutting joining seams at the vamp (toe box). The quality is just not there in this skin. I have far superior quality J.Crew snakeskin shoes from previous seasons. I can't even begin to describe how crestfallen that I am even though they're just shoes.
I ordered two sizes; my regular size 7.5 and one half size larger, an 8. The 7.5 was way too snug in the toe box, while the 8 fit, but just. Both had the gaping above the toes from the too high vamp.
These would only be awarded the privilege of a spot in my closet on a really super, super sale. Definitely not the special, yellow snakeskin shoes that I have been searching for.
D*ska, so sorry to hear about your disappointment especially for the price you'd expect quality. When you're excited for an item it makes it even worse when it doesn't live up to expectations.
DeleteFor canadian JCAs, I was just told by customer service that they won't be doing wwfify for Canadian customers anymore. This is really disappointing since we hardly have any Canadian stores and online orders ship from the US anyhow.
ReplyDeleteany of you seen/ tried on the sparkle dot dress in person? it looks great online but you never know.
ReplyDeleteJust received the Tippi in the online-only Tipsy Parsons print - have to say the print is super-cute IRL, but sophisticated (it's definitely not Portlandia birds ;) But I will say it runs big! I compared it to another of my Tippis from last year in the same size and it is at least an inch longer in the body and arms, and an inch or so wider through the chest. Not enough for me to bother with exchanging, but be aware if you like your tops more fitted.
ReplyDeleteI think the Tippis have grown a bit across the board. I was definitely a medium in last fall's Tippi, but I swam in this spring's medium (and I gained a pound or two in the interim, if anything).
DeleteI think you are right! I hadn't bought any of this year's retail Tippis until now - though I did have to size down in the Factory merino versions that I bought last month. Like you, usually an M but went down to an S. I can't be bothered to exchange this one but will certainly keep it in mind for the future - anybody else find the same thing? Was eyeing the pop art version and now I'm wondering about sizing down.
Delete(BTW, the Factory version of the linen polka-dot sweater runs tts - I sized down in that and it was a mistake)
I didn't make it to the stores, but did receive my order today. I have to rave about the Biella loafers (I got the navy/pink), as they are incredibly soft and comfortable, straight out of the box. I wear an 8.5 outside of J.Crew and usually a 9 at JC (except some recent too-large flats), and the size 9 is perfect. There wasn't one spot that I can foresee rubbing uncomfortably. I didn't have high expectations, but I am extremely pleased with them. I think they're not only comfy, but adorable. The traditional-ness of them is tempered by the pop of bright pink. :)
ReplyDeleteIndigo floral popover review in this post.
ReplyDeleteBiella Tassel Loafers (pink/navy) review here.
ReplyDeleteLove them! Buttery soft inside, ran true to my J.Crew sizing.
