J.Crew has extended until today the offer to take 25% off & free shipping all orders of $150+
(30% off for those who open a J.Crew card) with promo code LOVEJCREW. For current card holding members, get 30% off and free shipping on $150+ with promo code CARDMEMBER.
Usually, J.Crew does not offer these types of universal promotions (that work on both regular and sale items) too often. So it is a welcome offer (and a great offer to pick up a new arrival item or two). I really enjoyed reading everyone's real-life reviews on the new arrivals, and can't wait to read more of them as the LOVEJCREW packages continue to make their way to customers' homes.
Unfortunately I did not get anything this time around since (1) I am more of sale shopper (and I get a better deal with the usual 30% off sale promotions) and (2) it's too cold where I live to think about warm weather Spring clothes (let alone wear them).
Will you be checking out J.Crew? Did you already pick up an item or two? If so, please share!
I think that if anything, this promo illustrates that JC's starting price points are just too high. Take 30% off them and things have been selling out like crazy.
ReplyDeleteYes, things do seem to be selling well. I bought the last of the quilted liberty jacket in my size to try yesterday. I already own the chive color and the price on the blue was marked way down.
DeleteThat is a great observation! I think you are on to something. I notice things lavish in the new arrivals section and the moment they are marked down (1st cut), they start selling quickly.
DeleteMaybe J.Crew doesn't need all the sales but lower price points?
The blue liberty jacket was on its second price cut! It was $198 last weekend or two and now $129.
DeleteAlexis, I agree! It would be fabulous if J. Crew would simply lower prices. Sale games are time consuming - I'd love to simply look through the new arrivals and place my order. As it is now I have to wait for a promo or sale plus promo.
DeleteI completely agree that J.Crew needs to start prices lower to begin with. They should have realized by now that their merchandise does not sell well unless it is marked down. Why not put an end to all of the pricing games and just make the prices more reasonable to begin with?
DeleteI agree too. The starting point for the prices is way too high. I think that many items are still too high even with the 30% off promo but I cannot believe how many items are already sold out.
DeleteAgree! It's so hard for me to pay full price, not only because the prices are so high, but because I know that there will be a sale where I can get an item for a more reasonable price.
DeleteI really took advantage of this promotion and picked up things that generally don't go on sale - two 1035 blazers in black, pencil skirts in black and natural, black Minnie pants, black Paley pants, black featherweight cashmere cardigan, the tawny sand ballet flats, the Icon Trench, and bathing suits for my husband and I.
I'm done until fall, that's for sure!
I agree with you on both counts, Alexis. The sale was not that enticing to me, and the weather doesn't help matters at all!
ReplyDeleteLOL! It's hard to justify buying a beautiful lightweight top when the weather forecast includes a chance for snow. ;)
DeleteWow. I bought a lot with this sale. I thought it was a good one esp. for the items I had been eyeing:)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that this is a good offer- especially since it does not make most things Final Sale... a huge bonus in my book! :)
DeleteIf anyone is still looking for the beaded rose necklace, I did a 'we will find it for you' locator and they found it! Then I called back and ordered another item from cs to get to $150 and they discounted both orders for me (they are calling the store directly for the credit). Good CS!!
ReplyDeleteThey did the same for me! Yesssss!
DeleteReview of spring 2013 jacquard dot top here.
ReplyDeleteI resisted on this sale; I just bought a couple sale items 2 weeks ago that are transitional pieces so I'm trying to wait to buy more until the weather warms up. I like the instant gratification of buying a new outfit on a Sunday and wearing it to work that Monday!
ReplyDeleteI've resisted this promo so far, but I'm thinking of using it to buy a white Jackie twinset for work since the basic colors rarely hit the sale section. I'm not sure what I'll pick as a ride-along...maybe the striped City Mini in Ripstop Cotton.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about the purple Camille dress non-stop since I saw it in the B&M store, but I didn't try it on, and am afraid to pull the trigger size-wise... ugh decisions.
ReplyDeleteIf it helps, I bought my usual size so I consider the Camille to be TTS. Also, it's not final sale yet so you could always return!
DeleteI have the Camille dress in purple and LOVE it. I think it fits TTS. I tried purple and rose in the store and liked the fit of both. I ordered a black one to try, but it seemed a little shorter so I sent it back.
DeleteI bought a lot on this promo. I agree w/Alexis about waiting for sale, but I thought I'd try some for color & fit. It was also easier to get into because we've been having sunny, warmer weather. Nevertheless, some things are definitely going to go back.

Yes, I already bit on this sale. This was a good one - not final sale, and I can enjoy the goodies early in the season.
ReplyDeleteI bought quite a few too, will post some reviews on my blog: sissibellavogue.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI bought a couple of linen V neck tops and the short sleeve chambray shirt.
ReplyDeleteI love those tees! They are fabulous!
DeleteI bought the Schoolboy Blazer in Mixed Stripe and absolutely love it! I'll be posting outfit pics of it tomorrow! Also wanted to let you ladies know that some of the Liberty shirts are also marked down! Get yours while you still can!
ReplyDeleteWhich shirts? Are they cheaper in store?
DeleteBought the scalloped dress in Poppy, among other things. I am absolutely obsessed with it!!
ReplyDeleteI bit at the last minute: bought the Carrie cami for me (tried it in store in navy but they didn't have any size smaller than a 4. Surprisingly the 4 almost fit, so I ordered a 2 in the ivory instead of my usual 0, fingers crossed) and the collection cashmere cardigan for my daughter (she needs a new everyday cardigan). Tempted by a lot of things but in the end I will wait for a sale.
ReplyDeleteI tried the Collection embroidered eyelet top in store: very pretty but I could not get the cami over my boobs in my regular 0. The 2 fit better but was a bit loose overall. Not very flattering and yes, very highwaisted. Pass, especially at $250.
Looks like the promo has been extended to March 30th. I haven't bought anything yet, but now I might!
ReplyDeleteReceived the collection embroidered eyelet top today, was pretty sure it would not work and I was right. Could have been such a beautiful top if they had done it right. My normal size 0 was to large in the chest area, was to short and I felt like were the waist was tapered actually made me look larger. The fabric is beautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you for the review, simplydreaming. How disappointing that the fit is so off on the top. They really should have made it longer, too. Looks like it will be yet another item that moves to sale quickly.
DeleteOrdered quite a few things 2 days ago, including the Keeper chambray shirt & the boy shirt in dots. Got the itch to try out the City Mini in Ripstop cotton (striped), and CS was gracious enough to place my order via phone and give me the 30% + waive the shipping on it even though my first order's already shipped out. Waiting for the citrus shirt & fan fringe necklace my sister ordered me last week.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of new Promo-priced items today, as well as several new markdowns. I've noted them at the top of this post on my blog.
