This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
Hi - I love the look of tweed (and J.Crew has some great tweed pieces), but sometimes have a hard time figuring out what to wear with it. Here is an idea that I made from polyvore and put on my site. Maybe it will spark some ideas for mixing prints for you other ladies!

Here is another idea using those great jacquard pants J.Crew has out now:

I kept coming back to the catalog photo of the model wearing the butterfly blouse with the coral skirt. I used the color combo as a bit of inspiration. They aren't quite 'outfits' yet but I like playing with colors! See it here.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to a show in Vegas next weekend: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/promo/one-night-for-one-drop/index.aspx and I have a very conservative style. I love to dress up but I worry about wearing too tight of clothes. I was planning to wear the all black sequin dress from Madewell to the show but that's when I thought it was just the show. I found out we are now going to this and after party....any suggestions? I love JCrew dresses but any current or previous dresses anyone would suggest??? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteA few J. Crew pieces that I've styled on my blog recently:
ReplyDelete- mint sterling skirt and cashmere bateau stripe sweater here (love both of these pieces), and mint skirt again here
- mauve blush pencil skirt here and here
- polka dot ponte dress here and here
- pink herringbone blazer here
- Factory poppy ankle skinny jeans here
- chiffon dot top in dublin green here (also, if you watch the Bachelorette, Sean's sister wore this top on the finale :)
I usually despise neon anything. And I think that I still do. It looks so horrible against my complexion but still I fell for, and bought, the Tipped boy shirt in Pink Shocking pink. Something about that shirt called to me and I would be fine with that if I could just figure out what to pair it with. So far, all it seems to work okay with in my closet is jeans and Minnies in British khaki. I really wanted it to work with my gray piped Lexi but it so didn't. It looked cute with the Contrast pencil skirt but I wanted to go for something more funky, which places me squarely out of my comfort zone. How have you JCAs been styling this particular shirt?
ReplyDeleteI got the cotton v neck sweater in this neon yellow color. It has helped to wear with a scarf to soften the color especially around my face. Sorry, that's all I got for you.
