This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
Same sweater deal as online, plus 20% off tops. The local store had 40% off sale stock as well.

I would appreciate if someone could scan the april style guide! Mine always arrive late! TIA!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get one yet but I saw it at the store (couldn't take it with). I instantly loved a printed dress but it was $795, what!!!? That is the main thing that stood out to me.
Deleteplease...pretty please. Can someone do this for us ...
DeleteI have a couple of photos on my blog.
DeleteMy old scanner is not compatible with my new laptop and I wasn't able to scan anything. (Couldn't find a driver or software for it, and the computer wouldn't recognize it automatically, so I had to resort to taking photos of the pages!)
Rose: do you have any info on that lacy white top in the photo you took from the catalog? i LOVE shirts like that.
DeleteMiss JR: I have the Canadian catalogue, the top is the collection embroidered eyelet, #85024. $290 Canadian price (yikes). it says cotton, ivory. HTH
DeleteJan, that's exactly what I said. Even at half price is out of my budget. It looks gorgeous, though.
DeleteRose, you're right even half of that is too much!
DeleteI also liked the dress that cate mentioned above but it's $880 Canadian. It's the same print as the pencil skirt that jcrew had on their Facebook page last week.
I went to the Menlo Park Mall store in NJ. Big sale selection even on Sunday afternoon, with an additional 30% off. I tried on the Sera top and like many others have noted the styling is not very good. It is almost a pregnancy top. I also noticed 20% off belts and Cece flats.
ReplyDeleteI went to Madison/45 street store in NYC. I was able to get 15% educator's discount on sale items but SA pointed out that, according to the corporate office, starting Monday (today 3/18) they will not add 15% on top of any price that ends with .99. So, basically, not adding it on top of final sale. I feel like we are going in circles--, deja vu-- I wish that they would settle with one or another option and stick to it.

ReplyDeleteOT, but does anyone has any insight or reviews as to the difference between the Cropped Matchstick Jeans in "White" (item 64441) and the Cropped Matchstick Jeans in "White Denim" (item 59425)?
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell, the "White" has more stretch, but I am looking for information as to the fit of each. Thanks!
this might help a *little*
ReplyDeletei tried the cropped matchsticks and they were definitely more snug and stretchy. i got the regular matchstick (non-cropped) jeans and those were more like the other matchisticks i have.
BUT i do want to point out i did have to go up a size in the matchsticks this year (both factory and retail, and cropped and regular), last year i was 25S, the new ones i just bought are 26S.
Did you try the cropped matchsticks in "white" or "white denim?" It's so confusing the there are two white cropped matchstick jeans!!!!
Deletecropped matchsticks in white #64441 and the regular matchsticks jeans in white #59425.
DeleteBTW, i believe the cropped version i tried on were originally $98.
I was finally able to go to a b&m in Toronto. Yorkdale was running 40% off sale as other canadian jcas have mentioned. Nice SAs at this location. They had a good sale section but I managed to avoid buying things just because they were on sale. :) They did have some of the butterfly silk blouses, very cute but not on my list so I avoided temptation.
ReplyDeleteI did pick up the featherweight french terry sweatshirt in blue/azure on sale. Sizing down one would have looked better on me but they didn't have that size so I stuck with a small which was a little loose in the arms and body but fine as it's casual. I was glad that it wasn't short like some of the recent offerings.
I wanted to see the Pixelated Houndstooth skirt IRL. I was disppointed to see that each one was frayed already, looking a little shop worn. (the modern red pattern parts were fraying) I didn't buy fp because of seeing this and I'm not sure how this skirt will hold up after washing and wearing.
So, I went to the Michigan Ave. J.Crew yesterday (Sunday) morning right after they opened. They did have their entire sale section marked as an additional 30% off and I wanted to pick up the silk tipped boy shirt in navy and a pair of tights. There was ONE cashier and ONE customer whom she was helping, so I got in "line." (I was the only one at the time). I couldn't tell if the guy in front of me was returning something or what, but all that was there was a shoebox. The cashier completely ignored me and they just went on and on and on with their exchange while tons of SAs walked around aimlessly. I figured the guy was going to be awhile so I walked around to the men's section to see what their register situation was but no one was there at all, so I walked back over. Now there was a woman with her daughter who were going to buy several pieces and the SAME GUY with the same cashier and shoebox, still there. A second SA came and opened a register for the woman and her daughter and a line formed behind me of several people. Still, no one opened the third register. The guy with the shoebox was still there when I decided to leave, after 10 minutes of waiting in line. I just threw down my stuff on a table and stormed out. Seriously, there is just no excuse for not assisting other customers when you have a difficult client at the counter. He did not seem angry- I feel like they were just chatting or flirting or something. And meanwhile, all of these other SAs just flitting about, with nothing to do...Open a register and get us out! I'm not going to wait in line for an overpriced, made-in-China shirt, even if it is on sale. Ridiculous. Also ridiculous: Earlier I asked about whether they had any crewcuts selections. The guy told me I need to go to North Ave. OK, why do you assume that I'm going to run back outside and drive another 15 minutes? I just went somewhere else in the Bloomingdale's mall for the kid's party we were going to yesterday. It's silly to suggest to people what they "need" to do. The Michigan Ave. store gets an F rating for yesterday's utter ineptitude. But yes, lots of newish inventory is already on sale there at an additional 30% off. Good luck finding a cashier!
ReplyDeleteSequin and stripes is wearing the peony sweatshirt on her blog today.
ReplyDeleteSee it here.
Did anyone find the butterfly top to be small? I just received my normal size today and it is like it's a size smaller. TIA!
ReplyDeleteAD MD: You're not alone. I had to size up!
DeleteOh no, mine is still on its way but I'm a little concerned now, I ordered my usual size in what I wear in other JCrew silk blouses and assumed this would fit similarly. Oh well, I am actually in the process of losing weight so maybe this will be some extra motivation
DeleteThanks!!
DeleteJust stopped by my B&M to do some returns and of course left not empty handed. Got the Jackie cardigan in Sea Glass for $34.99 and the Lulu Frost for J Crew resin and marcasite bracelet for $41. Sale section was pretty large with additional 30% off.
ReplyDeleteOT, but didn't want to wait until the "Crew-like retailers" runs this week in case it sells out. Baublebar has exact dupes of the Cupcake necklace and the pave bracelet at reasonable prices. Just threw a post together on my blog here
ReplyDeleteI am ordering the cupcake necklace and suggest acting sooner rather than later because stuff sometimes goes fast!
Anthro Blogger - I saw that and tweeted it earlier today. It's a spot-on dupe. Smart to order straight away.
DeleteHah! Great minds think alike! I never go on Twitter, but now you're making me think that I should! As soon as I get to my computer, I'll kinky links to your tweet :)
DeleteI meant to say linky link, not kinky links, can you imagine what that would look like? :) Darn autocorrect!
DeleteI attended the J crew sample/warehouse sale in Lynchburg this past weekend. I was most excited to find new sample items that gave me a sneak peak into upcoming spring and summer styles. I found a sequin shift dress with sequin oranges on it as seen in the April catalog on a shirt ("called citrus print"). I also found:
ReplyDelete-a silk dress covered in a quirky shoe print -a silk maxi dress and maxi skirt in a gorgeous rich tropicalish floral
-a sheath dress and sun dress in liberty florals
-lots of lace item (orange dress and pink top)
-a tiny heart print (on a silk dress and a peplum top)
-pink pencil skirt with a tulip print.
Some prints to look forward too (hopefully they made the "cut" because I love them all!) Unfortunatly they all didnt end up fitting me when I got home.....but oh well
Oops didn't mean to post that twice, just didn't mean to post under my husbands account the first time....
DeleteJPA, what size did you buy? I may be interested in taking a couple of items off your hands.
DeleteHi Anthro Blogger
ReplyDeleteSample items are almost always a size six. If that size works for you I can send you pictures and more info on which items didn't fit me. Some of the items I have already listed on Ebay. You can send me private email to:
