ReplyDeletewent to b&m to return something this morning. very quiet, no line, SA standing behind the register. i dont know if it was the return or what, but he had the worst attitude ever. he only spoke one phrase: "swipe your card". he thrust the receipt at me when it was over.
ummm..not a pleasant experience. saved me some money because i didn't feel like shopping [anywhere] afterwards. spoke briefly to the manager on the way out the door, who was very sweet. i did let her know i would rather shop online than be treated rudely in the future.

ReplyDeleteI was in Ann Taylor today and must say that they have so many beautiful pieces right now. There is a cardigan almost exactly like the Chiffon Pleated cardigan from J.Crew, but it comes in Dark Grey and Black with crystal buttons. I can't find it online, so it must be in store only right now. There is also a chiffon tiered tank/cami that is very beautiful and flattering. I only saw it in black and it must be in store only, too. The Tweed short jacket is also gorgeous IRL and looks beautiful with that particular chiffon tiered top. The SA told me that they are also getting new arrivals this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThey use to have the chiffon cardigan on their site - it came in three colors (black, grey and beige) StyleNo. 233675 Item No.85525917 It is gorgeous like FFM said! I bought the black pleated chiffon cardi and it looks great with the JC ivory double serge skirt! Ann Taylor's shoes are also ultra comfy compared to JC's.

L, I am sorry about your experience with J Crew costumer service. I was at JCrew this morning, not much stuff on sale and not a lot of new stuff.
I too will go to ann taylor for fall shopping.
ReplyDeleteWhile my b&m store for j crew is great on customer service, it's lousy on inventory. I find customer service at J Crew hit or miss when it comes to calling to look for an item at full price. Some SAs just can't be bothered while others bend over backwards for me.
I have purchased several items at Ann Taylor, but there sizing is very off for me. Petites are too short, regulars are too long and the sweaters are running really tight in the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteI do give 5 stars to the legacy silk blouse. I picked up both the black and winter white to go with my perfect pencil skirts and they are TDF! They have a slim shape, great collar and the fabric is really nice. The 2 in these fits me much like my JC pefect cotton shirts. Love 'em!
I have purchased a few items from BR - a tie neck silk blouse in a store only charcoal geo print, a heavy wool tie cardigan, plaid Jackson pant, a silk and cotton plaid skirt and those wonderful little bejeweled flats. I have been highly pleased by the quality and styling. They have been very budget friendly with all the great discounts and all but the heavy sweater and flannel pant have already been worn quite a lot.
I love J Crew, but I think a lot of other retailers are getting things right this year.
That should read "their" sizing. I shouldn't type and watch tv at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI drove four towns over ready to spend come otherwise hoarded cash at JCrew and found nothing. I did stop in Ann Taylor due to the 25% off but didn't find anything I was in love with. Hmmphhh...
ReplyDeleteI have bought a few peices this fall from Ann Taylor and I plan to buy some T-shirts at Ann Taylor Loft soon as the jewel tones are gorgeous this year.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I won't purchase anymore chiffon from any retailer because everything must be washed by hand otherwise if you machine wash chiffon frays like crazy. I accidently mixed up a $40 dollar beautiful rose tee from Ann Taylor in the wash and it was ruined! I have two beautiful chiffon sweaters from J.Crew so that's enough chiffon for me.
