A big "thanks!" to RatsOnParade (in this post) who let us know that she uploaded several images of the latest J.Crew catalog. (The above image is also from RatsOnParade.) Click here to see her "J.Crew: New Catalog! October 2009 Edition" post at her {great} blog, I LOVE J.CREW.
I can't wait to go through the images to see what new items will be available for the next Fall roll-out! As mentioned in the September 3rd "New Arrivals Expected at J.Crew Soon {wahoo!}" post, the latest arrivals are expected to hit stores this week (on September 15th).
I am especially happy to see the new catalog since I usually receive my copy in the mail waaaay after it gets posted online. ;)
Did you get a copy of the new catalog? What are your thoughts on the items slated for upcoming Fall 2009? Which items do you love or would leave? What items are you hoping to see? ;)
Thank you so much RatsOnParade and Alexis! I see a few things I want, though I'm secretly relieved that there is a lot of stuff that is similar enough to last year that I'm not tempted. I bought a ton of J.Crew last year and plan to supplement with just a few things this fall.
ReplyDeleteI like the knee-length wool skirt and the new beaded version of the ribbon tank. Maybe it will fit better than the original?
fun! it's unfortunate that I don't receive the catalogue in the mail EVER anymore :(
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for scanning this for us, you gals are awesome!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Alexis!
ReplyDeleteHaven't received the catalog but love what I see. I too seem to get the catalog way late. The new black boot, the varsity striped cardi (can't read the name), the wool skirt on approx. page 3 and the new jewelry especially caught my eye. Loving "the mix"....
Thanks for the scan ROP & the post!
I always get my catalog long after everyone here has received theirs. :( I do see a few things in the new catalog, although a lot of it is not new. I am interested in the new ribbon top. Like Roxy, I'm hoping it fits better than the first one. I alos like the paisley dress, since I missed the first one. And some of the sweaters look good. Oh, and the black and white tweed skirt looks divine!
ReplyDeleteThank you RatsOnParade for posting the new catalog! There are so many things I want!!! Loving the outfit on page 6!
ReplyDeleteloving the patent campo bag:)
ReplyDeleteRats, thank you for the catalog.
ReplyDeleteI am very excited over the spy trench, the new paisley perfect shirt and the b&w tweed skirt. I might also have to cave and buy the bright blue perfect pencil since I didn't get last year's model.
I am still wanting the Carlin coat in black or sea salt and the black merino v-neck with the chiffon trim. I also want one of the snow colored cashmere sweaters, but am holding out to see what BR or AT are bringing out in sweaters as I have better luck with their quality.
I just love fall!
OMG! I am having a minor...er...major freak out over here over all the cute items! I have three favorites already (1) the studed belts, (2) the polka dot ruffle cami, and (3) the metalic bow flats! I am so excited for the new rollout - there also appears to be some really cool new jewels! Whoo! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I LOVE fall stuff more than any other season, esp from JC! Can't wait to see some of these items IRL... maybe on the 15th!?!
ReplyDeleteThank you both for posting this!
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful, yet familiar. I love the section with the black on black. I agree with Roxy that a lot of the items look familiar to last year. The styling is nearly identical. Didn't we see that exact same lovely Asian model wearing a black wool turtleneck dress with boots last year? She looks darling, but I'm having deja vu.
Lots to wish for!
Does anyone know if the items will be available online on the 15th?? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rats and Alexis! The studded belts were already in a Seattle store on Thursday, but not much else that was new. The paisley dress is already sold out online.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how to get through to J. Crew about the shoes? Here in the rainy northwest, ballet flats and driving mocs don't work. They can't tolerate puddles. I sure wish J. Crew would do some loafer-type shoes, or some flats with a real sole.
Thanks RatsOnParade! I have to hold back on my JC purchases these days so if I had to pick one item from this catalog, I would choose the white-ish cardigan with the 3 navy (or maybe black) stripes across the shoulders.
ReplyDeleteKelsey: Same here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rats on Parade!! Loving the patent campo, spy belted coat, and belted cashmere sweater.
ReplyDeleteRats & Alexis,Thank you so much for the catalog! I love many items on this catalog - much better than previous month!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rats on Parade! Seeing the post on your blog early this morning was such a great way to start the day! :)
ReplyDeleteI had the chance to try on the black and white tweed skirt in the store yesterday and think it's lovely. The studded belts were actually in my B&M last Saturday, along with a new scarf that jcbellemarie blogged about here . From the catalog I'm looking forward to seeing the black and white/cream graphic print skirt IRL. It looks like it might be called the Deco skirt? I also like the Paisley button down and the Black and White Tweed coat, which we probably won't get at my B&M since it's a Collection piece.
Oh, heaven--a visual distraction from the more horrid tasks of the day. Love lingering over the actual catalog, but this early view was delicious. Thanks, Rats-on-Parade, thanks Alexis. You guys know what we need.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming these days that anything I adore will disappear in my size/color quickly, with the lower production #s--so I'm willing to buy at full price. However, I've stopped buying "extras" or "in other colors" until I wear it, love it, see how it holds up, drapes--and THEN I wait for a sale. Works for the moment.
Thanks again RatsonParade I see a couple of items, and I am sure I will see more online when they appear.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexis and Rats on Parade. I love to see the new arrivals early, and this catalogue did not dissapoint. Lots of pretty things.
ReplyDeleteRe: J Crew tall boots, can anyone tell me if their boots fit true to size, or is it better to size up (or down?).
Despite being a devoted J Crew buyer and fan, I have stopped receiving catalogues 6 mos ago. I have to go physcally in a store to pick them up.:))) Not that I mind!
ReplyDeleteIndigo Girl, I have an average foot and average calves , and found that tall boots fit me very snuggly. I recommend trying them first, or buying with an option of being able to return/exchange. It also varies from model to model.
ReplyDeleteThank you RatsOnParade for taking the time to scan this!
ReplyDeleteI need that beaded wedding gown. That is exactly what I envision myself getting married in. Gorgeous!
Yay for new catalogs! Ty Alexis and ratsonparade for sharing it with us! I have to say though I am getting really annoyed with my store. I was just there yesterday and asked for the new catalog and they said they won't give them out until next week. It takes me over 2 hours to get to that dang store, could I just get a catalog, so I can get overly excited about things that probably won't fit?!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the vent
Yay, my favorite style book is out once again! I don't see a lot that is new, but that's actually a good thing as I needed time to get a couple of other things anyway. This looks like one of those months where they repackage a lot of what they have already and add just a handful of new. But the mohair? I'm am just NOT understanding the appeal of that. Maybe, just maybe, my local J. Crew will have it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, Slastena, for the information. I'll definitely try them on the next time I visit a B&M.
ReplyDeleteThe Cadogan Leather boots are such a lovely, classic style and I can't wait to see them in person.
The tweed coat looks great and I think they need a 2" tweed heel please. The tweed flats looked too unstructured last month. They looked a little too much like slippers to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rats On Parade! I am so excited about the double-serge perfect pencil skirt in deep blue. I was sooo sad I missed last year's version, I even missed it on ebay by waiting to long so this is a must have! I just bought the double-serge in the fresh plum and cinnamon stick colors so I cannot wait to add the deep blue to my collection.
ReplyDeleteI also love the round diamond couture looking necklace....I am swooning! Will have to do some major J.Crew Jewelry purchasing soon!

ReplyDeleteRatsOnParade, thank you thank you for scanning this, it must have taken some time and it is so very appreciated!!! Alexis thank you for your blog as always!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me the price of the tweed coat? I made it full page and still can't make it out.
Oh I love this catalog. I went to the store yesterday and I did not see the new catalogs. I am gonna have to go back. I see a couple of coats I like, hopefully I see them soon in the website or in the store.
ReplyDeleteRatsOnParade thanks for the post. So excited to see new things.
ReplyDeleteCould you give me the item number for the lovely black & gray tweed pencil skirt? Thanks so much.
Wendy
Shannon - I laughed out loud when I read your comment about getting overly excited about items that probably won't fit well anyway - I feel the same way exactly.... but I get just as excited when every catalog comes out!!

ReplyDeleteWendy: I wrote the item # for the tweed skirt down yesterday when I tried it on: 17909. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, FFM. Have a great day!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone here is so helpful.
Wendy
Those plaid shirts just scare me!
ReplyDeletei want that leather bomber jacket!! ba-nanas ;)
ReplyDeleteHaven't gotten a copy yet, but received about a week ago an email from my Jcrew B&M letting me know that their next Fall Collection will be available the week of September 14th. According to this email, "...because you are one of our special customers, we would like to invite you on Tuesday, September 15th from 11am until 2pm to join us for refreshments as you preview our new items."
ReplyDeleteI thought it was so nice of them to send out an email like that. I look forward to stopping by to see how many items from the new collection they'll be having.
That blazer with ruffles caught my eye! I hope they have it in the stores next week.
It wasn't until I had everything scanned and uploaded that I realized zooming in wasn't an option. Next time I'll know to scan in at a higher resolution! :)
ReplyDeleteLaura: The tweed coat appears on page 049, and is listed as the Wool Tweed Oona Coat Collection -- A fabulously chunky, luxurious tweed in a tailored A-line shape. Wool/acrylic/alpaca. Fully lined. Import. Grey. 0-12. Item #18081E $550
Wendy: There seem to be two variations on the tweed pencil skirts on page 058, one listed as the "wool oona" in grey (item #17909E, $128) and "sapphire - Collection" in navy (item #17481E, $198).
HTH!
RatsOnParade: Thank you so much for the information on the navy tweed skirt AND the Oona coat! Both are on my wishlist. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!. I haven't received a catalogue in AGES. And I am a good customer. WHAT'S UP, JCrew???

ReplyDeleteI was at the store Saturday and the SA reminded me the next rollout was indeed coming on the 15th and to expect most items on the floor by Wednesday. She said it wasn't going to be a lot of new merch. The next BIG rollout will be the first holiday rollout mid-October. I want to say the 14th or the 21st, I don't remember exactly-sorry! She said they will have "cozy sweaters" and pj pants.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rats on Parade and Alexis!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the polka dot ruffle top. It looks so cute
OT
ReplyDeleteHi all! I posted some pics from October issue of Real Simple featuring JCrew. Check it out at http://pixelant.blogspot.com/
Are there any pictures of men's items by any chance? The ladies' look pretty good; I just hope that the men's collection is just as exciting!
ReplyDeleteRats on Parade, thank you for scanning the catalogue in. That's devotion, girl. I've already looked at it three times.
ReplyDeleteLove the outerwear and hats. I'm going to KOP next weekend, and will definitely give a report.
RatsOnParade, thank you thank you thank you!!! This is the part where I question myself on getting the coat, but when I was looking at those old catalogs the items I felt saddest for not having were the ornate shoes and the tweed items. I need to keep reminding myself of that!
ReplyDeleteThanks pixie for posting, I see a couple of new things there and I don't get Real Simple magazine :)
ReplyDeleteRatsOnParade, can you please tell me the price of the leather bomber jacket?

ReplyDeleteOT :) (well, it's JCrew but non-catalog related): I watched Glee yesterday and noticed a yellow Floral Garland necklace, googled it and found this:

ReplyDeleteA lot of the same old. So far, I'm interested in the cashmere boatneck popover and that's about it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am sick of this boring cover model they've been overusing. Dead/stoned eyes and half open sexy mouth are so pseudo high fashion. I think she only 'looks JCrew' when she smiles (pg 35, 36).
Love the new smaller Campo bag! :) Too bad it looks like it's only in patent....
ReplyDeleteI saw the nicest cardi at the store on Friday and I'm disappointed it's not featured in the catalog (unless I overlooked it?) It's a very simple merino with ruffles in front, but what drew me to it was the colors it comes in - a beautiful amber color and a pale lavender were among them. I will have to check the item # when I next visit my B&M... I know it is priced at $98 and I'm thinking the amber color would look fabulous with the beige/orange tweed skirt I just picked up at the outlets but I'm hoping to nab it on sale...
ReplyDeleteAgain I am underwhelmed by the current catalog. I really like the new tie-front cashmere cardi and the satin Marjorie ballet flats which have been around for awhile, but that's about all on my wishlist.
Heather - The leather bomber is the Belstaff Bomber jacket, $1195
