The spread featured the various looks that First Lady Michelle Obama has worn- which of course includes J.Crew! Even though the outfits (featuring J.Crew) have been discussed on this blog before, it's always fun to look at them again. :)
As for the J.Crew Cashmere Argyle Cardigan shown in the third image... I couldn't find it on J.Crew's website. The article states it is retailing for $178.00. I am not sure if this is a new arrival or already available.
Mini Update: "Thanks!" to Bisou (in this post) who spotted the cardigan in the October catalog. It is the Cashmere Argyle V-Neck Cardigan (Item 17308 ; $178.00) and is "available in select stores and comes in three color combinations".
I wonder if MO cashmere sweater pills too?
ReplyDeletehaha, casual-crew. Can't you just imagine her complaining to her husband (like a lot of us do!) about the pilling, cost of J.crew, lack of free shipping codes, and perhaps the disappearance of size 12 in some styles? The problems with J.Crew could become national issues, perhaps? I bet one little call from Barack to Mickey would fix all. That's hope, baby.
ReplyDeleteI bet her sweaters (now) are specially made and inspected before shipping out. I cannot imagine she would ever receive multiple sweaters (as I have) with holes in them!
ReplyDeleteJust came across this sweater in the Oct 09 catalog. Cashmere argyle v-neck cardigan, item 17308E , $178 ~ available in select stores and comes in three color combinations.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like JCrew has been doing a ton of promotion lately. Whenever I check my Yahoo email I have ads for JCrew pop up atleast 50% of the time.
ReplyDeleteThat argyle sweater was at my B&M yesterday in the lighter gray combination. It's very soft.
ReplyDeleteAlso, some new markdowns there that aren't on-line. All the cords were marked down at least $10; some colors marked down $20.
I can just picture J.crew giving Mrs. Obama the standard "as a one-time only courtesy ... " line, hee hee. I don't think we've seen her in j.crew (at least not played up) since spring - I'm sure someone on here would have noticed.
ReplyDeleteI stopped by j.crew yesterday while running errands, and there was no one in the store but two associates and moi. I'll be curious to see what their 3rd quarter earnings are - and I guess more so the 4th, as that'll be more reflective of fall merchandise.
Totally OT - but a blast from the past in the sale section! The Eliza Cami, 86841, in size 4. Colors: Honey glaze, bright poppy and chocolate, $34.99
ReplyDeleteOT but tastymoog and others in the Philly area-I am hoping to visit a B&M there in early Oct. munitioned with my $25 off card. Does Liberty Place still have a good selection (ie, cashmere and Collection items?) Is it worth the trip (a bit out of my way) to KOP? If so (and I could figure this out myself on the web, probably), near what anchor store would you suggest I park for quickest access to the store? TIA!
ReplyDeleteTotally OT -- was flipping channels last night and saw Bobbi Brown on QVC. She was wearing the weathered stone tissue beaded crest tee under a jacket.
ReplyDeleteCorry - I would make the trip to KOP. It's at least twice the size of the Philly store, and has a wider selection. Also, parking at the Philly store is expensive. I would head to KOP and park near Nordstrom for easiest access to the Crew.
ReplyDeleteOT - Does anyone own the Charlie ruffled suede platform mary janes? I just got mine today and realized that the front cover seems to cut very low (where you can see part of your toes)... is that normal? I tried it in the store before but don't remember it was cut that low... any comments? I guess if you wear it with tights, you won't see that but just curious if my pair is just "different"... TIA!
ReplyDeletefyi...the gold spencer mary janes are marked down to $79.99 in the KOP store! (still 109.99 online and were just $149.99 yesterday)They had about 10 boxes left when I was there this morning. LOVE. THESE. SHOES. Of course dont even know where I am going to wear them being a mother of 3, but love them nevertheless!!
ReplyDeleteand another thing...anyone own the vintage matchsticks in busted wash? did they stretch out? I have worn mine maybe 3 times and they are HUGE, way bigger than when I bought them. Can I exchange for a smaller size down? I dont want to put them in the dryer for fear of the lenght shringking and I like the length.
OT, just wanted to let you know that AT is having extra 25% off markdowns in-store. They just marked down a bunch of their new fall lightweight cashmere sweaters from $175-185 to $89.99. With the extra % off and then another coupon I had, I got 2 wonderfully soft lightweight cashmere cardigans for $54 each! Such a good deal. They also have a bunch of dresses and silk tops marked down.
ReplyDeleteOT: Gap is offering an additional 40% off sale items in store only. They have some great markdowns. Got three cardigans @ $14.99 each.
ReplyDeleteCass - would you mind sharing the info about your AT coupon? I am going there tomorrow and would love to take advantage:)

Off Topic, but wanted to share that I got my Patent Campo yesterday in the Coconut Shell and it was LOVE at first sight! The Black Plum is gorgeous, but very dark purple and I wanted a bag that could work for more than just Winter (need to justify the price tag too) It would be hard for me not to love this bag as it has everything I require. It is HUGE and this is a must have for me, it has a million pockets, it fits over the shoulder or over your arm. The Color is yummy- it is a warm butterscotch color with a great patent shine. I also received my Paisley perfect shirt and they look great together. Thanks J crew for finally making a big fabulous bag that is pretty darn practical for a working mom!
ReplyDeleteOT - There are bubble necklaces, item 92687 in the sale section for $89.99 in soft graphite and $99.99 in dusty blossom.
ReplyDeleteLilac, the AT coupon was a card I got in the mail, so I can't forward it, and it was one-time use so I don't have it anymore. Sorry about that! There are still good deals to be had though.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, lilaccupcake!
