Video Time with Jenna Lyons {fall collection}

"Thanks!" to Dagmara who shared the following video from New York Mag's The Cut (click here).

The video features an interview with J.Crew's creative director, Jenna Lyons, about pre-show anxieties and their Fall collection.

P.S. Mad props to Coco Rocha who asked the most important question of "why are you not smiling?" to a model. LOL!

What are your thoughts on the video? Any take aways from the interview? Is Jenna fatigue or worship setting in? ;)

  1. OT (sorry, Alexis, I'm not sure where to post this) The blue basketweave pencil skirt in b&m's is being marked down tomorrow to $79.99. Not sure about the green one, since it's online only, which is the one I want since I have the purple/blue tweed skirt from last year (or year before?).

  3. Interesting video. Thanks for sharing it.

    I disagree with the "why are you not smiling?" comment, however. The only people who walk around NYC with a big grin on their faces are Midwestern tourists and deranged people. It's just not done. :P

  4. Thought that people might be interested in clicking through the slide show that refinery29.com has posted of j.crew's fall fashion week presentation

    A lot of it makes me sad because it is far too fashion forward to integrate into my daily work life...plus some of it screams "big sticker prices", but there are a few sweaters that have me looking forward to fall (as long as they don't pill ;-))

  5. Loved the video! Again, I really love that black pea coat (or is it a jacket?) with what looks like leather piping along the edges (the one they're showing towards the end). So sharp and so chic! I bet it will have a high price tag though.

  6. I read on one of the links Alexis provided that the Manolo shoes will start at $550.00. Wow...I agree there appears to be many big ticket items!

  7. I think they are going to alienate a lot of their customer base with the $550 shoes. If I wanted to spend that much on shoes I'd just go to Saks or Neiman Marcus, and buy real manolos or dior or whatever on sale.
    But I don't want to spend that much on shoes, so instead I'll just see the ones when I'm in JC and roll my eyes.

  8. I think that it is brilliant that they teamed up with Manolo Blahnik! Obviously people are buying the collection items because the green sequin skirt is already soldout, at a $695 pricetag. So, why not sell more specialty items. I can't wait to see what they look like.

  9. Great Video! although these must be strictly Jcrew Collection items
    Way too expensive for me!! But it's still exciting to see a Brand I love at NYFW!!
