Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new WINTER/SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. FYI:
Free shipping on all JCrew Factory orders through Sunday, no minimum.

A factory item in an order with non-factory merchandise still qualifies for free shipping.

  2. Heading into my local B&M (my sis fell for my boy shirt in Barbodos Plaid and now it's sold out online) and hoping to also get to the Crewlet (it's 45 mins away, so we'll see how that goes). Also really hopong for a % off FS for the four items in my wishlist (oh...I mean cart).

  3. I am definitely planning on visiting one of the 2 SLC stores.

  4. I meant to post this on Thu afternoon and forgot. There was one size 4 striped coaster gimlet skirt at Walnut Creek. (925)-934-7664.

A few of the Jackie cardigans are marked down in-store to $39.99 -- mint (pale, pale green), fresh mango and fiesta purple.

  5. Question...when do the current rewards cards expire?

    ReplyDelete
  6. gigiofca, they expire on March 15. I've still got mine, waiting and hoping for a promo on fp items.

I do plan to visit this weekend. My ps is suppose to hold a ripplestitch cardi for me if it went on sale in the b&m as it did online.

  7. I have a colorblocked striped tee on hold in a store so I will probably pay on the phone to get the promo price and go tomorrow to get it. Plus I have been stuck at home with sick child all the week and I need a little distraction!

  8. I went yesterday. The colors in the store are so refreshing, but I didn't buy anything. The prices really are quite high w no promos. I'll wait. Sale section was down to nothing, just a few jackies and tired tees.

  9. Rose...what are SLC stores ?

    Thanks Carolyn from Vancouver

  13. I will probably wait until next week. My store is supposed to get the next roll-out pieces on Tuesday.

  14. Unknown, Rose mentioned on her blog that she is headed to Utah so perhaps she means Salt Lake City stores. And no, I'm not stalking her. She said she may do a review of the rugby dress on her visit there, so I'm keeping an eye out for that. ;^)

  15. xoxo, I bought the rugby polo dress and I think it's very cute. It looked even better with a navy blazer, tights and boots. But I ended up returning it yesterday mainly because I don't want to pay full price, even with my 15% faculty discount. I also like the new version of the maritime dress, but since I already have the one from last year, I will wait for a sale.

  16. I might take a trip to see some of the new arrivals. I have some returns to make and I am still stalking for the seine stripe blouse. I also want to take a trip to the nearest B&M (2 hrs away!) b/c I am looking for an in-store PS based on the fact that my online PS sucks. Oh whoops, did I say sucks? Yup, that pretty much sums her up. She replaced my awesome PS, Jenice, who left her position. *big tears* Perhaps I'll score big and find an awesome PS this weekend?!

  17. xoxo, I think blog-stalking is allowed. That's why we are here. :)

[Now the pressure is on to find a rugby dress to try on. The Seattle stores seem to run out of my size quickly. :) I suspect I would downsize in it, since I was able to fit into an XXS.]

  18. jessie, I'm glad to hear you liked the rugby dress, I'm sure it would be super cute on you. I was hopeful for a discount when I saw the knits and tees promo but of course knit dresses were not included this time.

Rose, OK, busted! LOL I'll be checking out your reviews to see whatever you find. You are always so helpful and it must be fun to be able to try so many things. Haha, my verification word is festup, as in fessed up. (blushes)

  19. Ladies, I tried the rugby dress on. I am petite, and pear shaped. Unfortunately, this was not good on me because one of the stripes hit right at my widest point, making me look hippier than normal. I found the small (my usual dress) was ok, but again with the hips, the medium was probably better. The colors are wonderful, and I wished it had worked for me. Hope this helps someone.

  20. No plans for me. I've scored some amazing "old school" JCrew on Ebay recently, and am so happy about it! I have a few items in my shopping cart online, but no plans to purchase unless a %off FP happens. Nothing I gotta have now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jessie, what is the new version of the maritime? I love this dress, have it in all three colors, and it is one of the few items I will happily pay full price for!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Audrey, the new version is a blue one with not "not so wide" white stripes, with zippers at both sides just like the maritime.I think the fit is pretty similar too. I am a bit taller than 5'8 and it's kind of short on me. ( I have to size down to S)But I love mine from last spring.

xoxo, probably I will post pictures of rugby polo dress on my blog later tonight and you can check them out to have a better idea on the fit etc.

  23. I went and didn't see anything I want for full price. OK, more like that I can't afford at full price.

  24. I just received my heart throb skirt and love it! I'm 5'2" and like the P4 I ordered, though I have a regular 4 coming for comparison. I bought the chiffon skirt in store last weekend and found the 4 to be a little snug in the waist and sized up to a 6. About to try it on again to see. I may brave the mall this weekend to try a 4 again.

@Gigi: I meant to respond to you in another post about ordering the chiffon skirt in petite. I love reading everyone's posts on this blog and am always strangely surprised to be acknowledged directly, as if reading the blog were a movie of sorts and I'm the audience. Does that sound weird? I suppose I'm just used to being the somewhat silent observer. So thank you for your comment on the skirt, Gigi! Did you receive it? If so, are you keeping the petite or the regular?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh! About that swishing sound the heart throb skirt makes. It is audible, but it doesn't bother me. However, it scared my cat! I tore open my package and put the skirt on in the living room. As soon as I took a few steps, my kitty crouched to the ground and took shelter under the kitchen table. Funny since she loves crunchy, crinkly plastic and paper bag noises so much.

  26. @erin - Boo! Just kidding. I know what you mean about reading along, then you see your name... This is like Rocky Horror Picture Show, though. You know the words to the songs, so sing along & dance in the aisles.

@JCAs - I saw the coaster stripe gimlet skirt at Emeryville (510) 450-2548 on Fri as follows:

    Size 2, 4, 10, 12 - There were 2 in each size. Except only one size 4, I think.

  27. @ Erin - I forgot to answer. I didn't like the P6 length. It made me look dumpy.

Review of the poppy Tillary purse in this post.

  29. I went to my local store yesterday, tried on the Chambray schoolboy blazer, like this years version better then last, can't really explain why, I think it is a little heftier. Also saw a new blazer that I can't find on the website, it reminds me of the Hacking tipped blazers. It is linen and tipped in black, very stunning, I did not get a price on it though, but I think I might be going back, I noticed the matinee trench is on promotion for $138.00 online. My store said they would honor that price, I tried on the navy and loved it. I saw a few reviews and you all seemed to give it a thumb up. Should I use my rewards card on that??? Help me decide please. Also picked up the cute heart tee at 20% off. Have a great weekend all!

  30. Anyone try on the ripplestich cardigan and have pictures, I would love to see it! Thanks :>

  31. Headed to the Destin J.Crew...Hoping to find a gift for each person on my Valentine List...

  32. MB: I really like the Matinee Trench, and I'm not really a trench girl because the belts on trench coats typically hit me at an awkward point. I'd go for it, especially at the promo price! Happy weekend!

  33. pathos, I have tried on the ripplestitch cardi but don't have any pics, sorry. Size down - my regular size would have been huge! Although even with sizing down, the sleeves are still a little long. It's also long, but not too long (and I'm 5'4"). It's a nice hefty sweater perfect for our "cold" days.

  34. jessie, thanks for the photos, the rugby dress looks great on you. I think I have to get it. Come on promo! I have a fully-loaded cart and I'll buy it all if you give me a deal.

    ReplyDelete
  35. savvy shopper, thanks for your feedback on the rugby dress. I'm on the tall side and don't have any curves on the bottom so hopefully it will work for me. If it can add some curves thanks to the stripes, that could be a good thing.

  36. There wasn't a lot of new in stores and the next roll out is due the last Tuesday in February. I tried on a maxi skirt that I don't see online and really liked it. It's navy with a bright blue stripe. Of course, it was too long on me, but at 5'4", most maxi's are. I would really like this to be my first and hem it. I tried on the elinor dress in orange (no polka dots there) and it was very low cut. Also hard to zip up or down past the waist line (I had to have help both ways). I did not try on the origami dress in decadent red, but it's a beauty. :) I liked the cotton open stitch cardi (perfect for SC weather), but would only buy on markdown. Shallow sea is a pretty green color and love the navy. The painter tee is tts, this is another markdown item for me. I had tried on the minnie when it first came out and hated it on me. Tried it again today b/c it gets so much blog love and have to say I see why it's popular. Of course, I would only wear it with a longer top. :) I tried on my normal JC pant size and my ps and 2 other sa's insisted I try a size down. Ladies, I haven't been a size 2 since junior high, if I even was then, but size 2 worked. Very comfy. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a fp promo before rewards expire and these will be mine in navy and and deep orchid. I also tried on the summerweight shorts in deep orchid and will pick these up for summer. :)

I asked my ps and store manager about any upcoming fp promos, and neither had heard of any. The sm even went and looked at her info, and nothing is mentioned. My ps had the lookbook and info, which gigiofca has already provided. :) I still like look 19. All stores will receive the skirt, but not the jacket. And he agreed that they shouldn't include items that are not going to be sold. I asked about the pants in look 9 and they're not going to be available. boo hoo. They'd probably be $328 anyway, which is too much for pants for me. :)

pathos, I did get the ripplestitch cardi but sized down to an XS (I'm normally a medium in most JC sweaters). It was a little tight getting my arm in, but once there I was fine. I don't know if I could wear a long sleeve tee under it, maybe after a few wears? HTH

  37. Hey ladies! Just saw that the liquid dot skirt popped back in a 0...has anyone reviewed it? I tried searching this blog and a few others but no luck. Never seen it IRL so wanted to get a second opinion before I buy it on final sale!

    ReplyDelete
  38. pathos, I have the ripplestich cardi reviewed on my blog HERE.

Also, new tipped linen schoolboy blazer mentioned by MB HERE

My verification word is 'styles', hmmm

    ReplyDelete
  39. Claire - I haven't seen the skirt or irl pics of it. Your best bet might be to look at all of the irl pics of the liquid silk skirt. I think the polka dot one is the same cut. Sharing some style inspiration by way of this cute outfit with a similar skirt.

  40. So I headed to my J Crewlet , tried on a few things but nothing caught my eye enough to buy, they did have 30% clearance and 20/30% off. Examples, the winnie pants, perfect shirts and pencil skirts. I have been eyeing the Brompton Mini Hobo in Vibrant Coral for a while. So did a run around the Coach Factory outlet, nothing for me, all pinks and lavenders. So headed to my B&M and made the purchase of the Brompton...love it. The color is a deep coral and I think it will work for all seasons. This is my first J Crew bag, I think the SAs were as excited as me on this purchase. There was a small sale section.. Some of the new sweaters which are also on sale online, ashbury floral dress, some colors of the jackie cardigan, Crochet lace-front tee in various colors/sizes. I am still waiting for a promo since I need to be done on FP purchases.
