Love the french dove tee but the x-small is huge, does anyone know if this came in an xx-small?

  2. I have had such a great experience with my online PS. I have been a J. Crew customer for nearly 20 years but it was only a year ago that the personal shopping department reached out to me and assigned a personal shopper to me. My PS has really made shopping with J. Crew so much better and easier. She's been able to track down sold-out items for me, even sale items. Big thanks to her for amazing service!

Yes the dove shirt comes in an xxs. I had the same problem with the xs but the xxs fits great.

  5. Rave for the Cambridge Cable Cardigan (in bright orange - color was "heather clementine") that I got during all the promos for about $35. The sweater is soft & warm and not itchy and has not pilled! Gorgeous saturated color. Cannot believe it is J Crew. I get so many compliments on it.

On a related note, the cashmere cardigans I got in fall 2010 on sale pilled terribly. I called the crew to find out if they were defective. I was told that they pill because they are 100% high quality cashmere and that I needed to buy a cashmere comb to deal with this.

  6. Annapurna,

I hope you don't believe what they told you about the cashmere sweaters....high quality one do not pill in excess. Very minimal to no pilling would be evident b/c the yarns are long/tightly woven/high quality--not shorter, cheaper ones that JC uses.

  7. I love the royal paisley blouson dress. I wore it again yesterday and got several compliments throughout the day. It will fit better after I drop a few pounds, but I love that it's easy to winterize with a little merino cardi and colorful flats. :)

  8. Annapurna, check out this post about cashmere pilling and what to deal with it, on Mai Tai's blog. It's an excellent post.

No I did not believe their BS! Luckily I paid less then $50 for them and they are pretty and colorful sweaters. Just thought I should warn people - beware of J.Crew "cashmere."

  12. Multiple personal shoppers in the Weding Department have been wonderful to me the past few months and I wanted to share I case any newly engaged girls are thinking about J.Crew's wedding service. From the Boutique on Madison where they let my appt run an hour and a half over, to the girl who let me purchase a final sale dress online only to return it two days later (curiosity got the best of me... It was not a winner). These women (and a few men) are the best. Two years ago they made me a bridesmaids dress with pockets for my sisters wedding (the image showed pockets with the models having her hand in one, but it wasn't mass produced that way. So they made me one at no additional cost, talk about amazing service!). The most recent wonderful thing that they have done for me was tracking down three pairs of Sorel Caribou boots for my bridesmaids to wear to my February 18th wedding in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (it's going to be snowy and we don't want to ruin our heels moving from the chrurch to the reception). The gentleman who helped me told me that "we will find it" is for full priced merchandise only, but gladly helped when he heard they were a gift for my bridesmaids. Within twenty minutes if had emails confirming all three pairs and they shipped and arrived the same week. I feel like there are JC employees who do not go out of their way to help customers, but that is certainly NOT the case with the wedding department. They are wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any bride!

  13. EP, now *that* is incredible customer service. If I were you, I would send an email with that in it to dear leader, aka Mickey Drexler.

I know if these were my employees, I'd want to hear about and recognize such exceptional service!

  14. I love the red phone so I can pick up items that my store doesn't carry but advert the online prices and shipping costs. Unfortunately the items that I receive aren't always as appealing as they were online to me but such is the process with online shopping.

Posted my latest red phone order, the Telegraph Jacket on my blog megancrewreviews.blogspot.com
