Extra 30% off J.Crew's Final Sale

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Rosie & Catherine K. (in this post), as well as D*ska, Louise & Irina, who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code LOVEIT. This offer expires Sunday, February 5, 2012. The fine print includes:
*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail stores or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Sunday, February 5, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code LOVEIT. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
It is great to see some type of sale promotion back at JCrew.com. Especially since all the brick & mortar stores shipped back the sale items to their warehouses.

Although it would have been nice if they threw in free shipping with a lower minimum (even if it was a $100).

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. It's great to see a big re-stock with this sale code. Also really like that Factory items are included, and now have pictures of the items on a model. No more guessing at length, etc.

I added a long list of J.Crew items I reviewed recently to my blog. Lots of the same items are in the sale section today.

  2. Wow, the gimlet skirt is already in the sale section. Wasn't that *just* released?

Nothing for me this time around. The inside button on my stadium-cloth peacoat snapped in half yesterday, another button's thread is unraveling and the cuffs are all pilled. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence to shop final sale.

  3. I picked up the Ashbury floral perfect shirt, but it says it won't ship until 3/19 (grrr) .... it will go well with my double-serge pencil skirts, so I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it. I also found a summer stripe schoolboy jacket (pink stripe) for super cheap and a few odds and ends.

Lots of odd popbacks during this restock, some things I haven't seen in years! I will check again over the weekend to see if I can find the DS pencil skirt in Acorn in a 10. That and the Wildcat popover at the only things I really want...my verification word is 'grating' ... how apropos.

  4. Just picked up a blythe blouse popback yesterday so hopefully can get the 30%. Usually my PS is excellent about that.

  5. Yes I bit on this one, hard to resist cords for 20.99.

There are a lot of great items that have popped back if you are willing to risk FS.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Still a lot of the same old same old; and then the "newest" items that went directly to FS and were not available in-store to see IRL. Still nothing tempting...
but love hearing what you all find! ;D

  7. Bizarre that the gimlet skirt in coaster stripe is already on sale. Anyone know if it's on sale in stores? There's only a 12 left online.

  8. Dang...the item I have been lusting after all season (metro coat in oasis green) is available in my usual size (P0), except that the coat sizing confuses me.

I bought a lady day in P0 in Feb 2008 (for $70!) which fit OK but the sleeves are to short on that. The next year, for S&Gs, I ordered the lady day in a bunch of sizes and found that the Regular 00 fit best (Jcrew's petite waists land right under my boobs ...not a great look).

The metro coat is supposedly slimmer (which would be a problem) but bloggers have said last year's P0 is similar to this year's P00...and that the metro has a thicker waist than the lady day. Argh! Can't try petites in stores so how the H-E-double hockey sticks am I supposed to know how these are gonna fit? Shame since I have been wanting a kelly green coat forever (even though I need another coat like a hole in the head).

Decisions decisions. My $25 rewards card arrived yesterday too...

  9. I'm holding firm to my rule of not buying final sale. Too many sizing issues in the last couple years to risk it. It's nice to see a code, though. If you've already tried something and know it fits, it would be worth it.

  10. The big restock was nice. I finally bought a blouse that I've already tried on (in the non tall size, but I assume it's the same size, just longer in a tall!) after procastinating so long that it disappeared from the site in my size. Hope the popback isn't worn/stained/defective/smelly/otherwise not new!

Elaine I saw some crazy popbacks too... like that lace front cami. I think that's from 2010!

Annapurna, re: the metro coat... it is a bit slimmer than the Lady Day. But not a ton. And if you're not getting the thinsulate version, you're probably safe with your lady day size.

I will say, I went up one size from my lady day size in the metro w/ thinsulate, and it fits everywhere except the waist which is just too big. If you are small chested, you should be ok with your lady day size. So the regular 00? Argghhh this sizing stuff is so hard!

  11. I said I wouldn't bite. I TOLD myself I wouldn't buy a thing. I caved on the Collection lace panel cami (isn't that from 2 years ago or so?). I have abused the one I bought when it came out. I am not ashamed of this weekness. lol

  12. I bought the Sorel Caribou boots since I missed out on them the last FS % off. With 2+feet of snow predicted today, it was a reminder that winter is not over here. Also, the Perfect Shirt in Ashbury Floral, I tried that on, on Saturday and almost bought at FP, so that will be a good FS, my size said In Stock, so hopefully it will ship. They had the Marceau purse but not in the Woodland Green, that is on my wishlist.

  13. I'm so weak...picked up the cafe capris in maraschino cherry which I've been wanting for a while now, and also the cashmere cable sweater in heather beet. Bummed I left my rewards card sitting at home but I guess I'll have to save that for spring purchases...really hoping they'll do a % off FP one of these days!

  14. @Elaine -- last week I saw the silk Frances cami from 2009 pop back!

Just one in my size, but in the color I already own. :-p

  15. Looks like they also revamped the factory site. There are factory outfits on the front page.

They put the Factory printed sanur dress on a bald mannequin though. LOL.

  16. Nothing for me this round.

Photos of the gimlet skirt here.

Also lots of other reviews on my blog -- just use the 'search' function for the specific item.

  17. Yeah for 30% off! Boo for such a high free shipping min.

I will be going in today to make a return but until then I have posted a review of the telegraph jacket on my blog

  18. So is this it for the sale? i am going for another metro coat in black.

  19. I saw that last week too, Rose! Wasn't it the lavender one? I was like, what the heck, lol! Today the sequined Starland tank was back in like 6 sizes. Soooo weird.

I also would have appreciated a lower min for free ship. My birthday is next week and mom & pop are giving me a JC giftcard (of course) ... hoping there will either be a % off FP promo then or that the skirt I want pops back.

  20. For the love of god will they put the Talitha top on sale already!

  21. Just one note if anyone is looking for great boots with a heel, try the Bryant boots. (Limited sizes and colors). I think they maybe from a couple of years ago with a kitten heel. I bought a pair in the sale in the Fall and they are well made, great leather and for a boot with a heel incredibly comfortable even walking around all day.

  22. I had to get the factory sequin zebra tee on audreybella's blog -- after the 30%, it was $38.15. So cute! Also managed to get the waverly chino with flannel lining that Gigi just reviewed on her blog -- I bought this when it first came out at full price but returned it b/c altho so comfy and cozy, it was not so flattering. But I sort of had returner's remorse so was happy to have the chance to rebuy. Also got a kid's size 14 (like a women's XS) cashmere cable crewneck in veridian green!

  23. @LaurenPhD, yes the gimlet skirt is on sale in the stores $79.99, but not sure about the % off. My PS is holding one for me to try on this weekend. HTH

  24. OT Carolyn from Vancouver here. I ordered one item finial sale and one reg price. Then the 30% promo hit. I placed my order 2 days before. JCrew says it won't give me the 3O% off the finial sale item. Is this correct ? I have heard others speaking about price adjustments etc. I said cancel the order...will they tell me a on-line order can't be cancelled ? Anyone have any thoughts on this or experience? ThANKS carolyn

    ReplyDelete
  25. Carolyn, sometimes they will do an adjustment as a 'one-time courtesy' but most of the time, you just get a big 'tude and a no. Sad but true.

  26. I bought one FS item and one FP item and the Factory zebra t-shirt that was also 30 off but not FS, so I go the free ship too. I've been wanting the Crimson Floral top for some time. It's been popping in and out in my size. I finally caught it w/the discount. Hoping it works out! *fingers crossed*

  27. Carolyn from Vancouver again
    - Will they let me cancel and re-order ? tHANKS

  28. Haven't bought sale since the new year...:) I need to recycle my cloet as much as possible. Haven't seen much review on this symphony coat. I got one today: http://way-we-were.blogspot.com/2012/02/off-we-go-symphony.html

  29. I got a few things but none were final sale, all were promo priced, so returnable. Had to really pad my cart to get the free shipping. I hate having to do that but I hate paying shipping even more!

I also left my rewards card at home but still hoping for %off new items for spring.

  30. i see Factory stuff I could have added on to get free ship. now i'm mad. oh well. i may road-trip to the Crewlet next week.

  31. Too cute -- Drew Barrymore wears the Jules dress in Ashbury floral.

I wouldn't haveworn those super dark tights, but after all, it is winter...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Why isn't the Ashbury skirt in stores? Sometimes I wish they'd just keep a sample in each size and then let you order it from the catalog. I *hate* returning things (oh the guilt!), so I'm going to try to resist. I love the colors and the print so much, but I'm unsure about the pleats.

    :( Jen

  33. Does anyone know about the fit of the factory cotton double serge pencil skirts? I'm a bit tempted because of the pockets...

  34. Has anyone noticed a difference in minnie pant fit between seasons? I got a black pair in Spring 2009, and they fit beautifully. I was so excited to receive my navy Holiday 2011 pair, but they fit really wonky. Got them tailored, fit is still off but better. Most of my issue is that the calf on the 2011 pair is much wider (6.5 inches) than the black pair (5.25) inches. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, then definitely try them on in store before buying as they would then change between seasons.

  35. Does anyone know anything about the Merino Pleated Skirt? Has anyone ever seen it in person?

    Thanks!

The merino pleated skirt is awesome. Very beautiful and fits pretty TTS. I reviewed it on my blog HERE

  37. I received my velvet schoolboy blazer in the mail and it was very poorly packed and had "dents" in the velvet from the hanger (not sure what you call them). Two big lines across the back from hanger indentations. Anyone know how or if you can get that out of velvet? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mack, I got a velvet schoolboy blazer too, and try steaming them out some way. Either with a steamer, or hang in a steamy shower/bathroom (which is what I did) and they rub out or fall out, what have you. I'm guessing Ironing would also work, but for that I would place a dish cloth ontop of the fabric and not do direct contact with the velvet.

I got it in chartreuse (love!) but I think it shows the "dents" more, and I was a bit startled by the look of the dents right out of the box, but I think they will smooth out with care.

  39. Thank you Pathos! I'll try it - I got the pink and love it too - just a little dismayed by the crushed look :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. speakngo, you got me checking and you may have received a strange size pair of minnies. I checked my older ones from 2010/2011 to the navy pair I bought last weekend and they all measure the same 5.50.

  41. I hate that some of the newest arrivals are already on final sale...

With the Ashbury pleated skirt - would you recommend sticking with pencil skirt size, or sizing up one like with the flair skirt?

    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi MegCrew I liked that jacket on you. Maybe try a tucked in shirt. I regret missing it as it is totally by style.

  43. New York & Paris - merino pleated skirt also on:

    * AppGal
    * on Debye
    * on Lindsay B
    * on Audreybella whose later ripped

  44. New York & Paris -- In case you need one more reviewed, I have one here. here.

I stayed away from final sale this time, and am hoping for a regular price promo too!

  45. New York & Paris: I bought the Merino Pleated skirt at FP when it first appeared online, wore it twice, and the waistband separated from the rest of the skirt right in my hand as I was taking it off. Called CS, asked for a refund, and mailed it straight back. I was so upset as it really is a beautiful skirt...if you decide to buy it, I hope that yours isn't a dud.

  46. @Shekster thanks for your thoughts, I'll have to play around with it to see what I can come up with. You never know, it might pop back!
