"Thanks!" to many of you, including JustVisiting (in this post), as well as Irina, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.
J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend with their latest arrivals for Spring. They are also offering free shipping on all Factory orders. This offer is for a limited time (unclear when it ends).
As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory offerings? Will you check them out?
Hi- first here!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe free shipping code does not work yet so I had to call the 1-800 number. It didn't work for her, either, so she waived the shipping.
Got the Factory sailor sweater in black/linen. Hoping the "linen" color is not too off-white- has anyone seen it irl? Size M chest is 39, length 25.5; size L chest is 40 length 26.5. Also like the Cecelia dress but they do not have overall lengths of that one.
Carol
For anyone interested, I just posted some factory reviews here. Also have some older ones here.
ReplyDeleteLove the factory striped popover, nice weight cotton and a better fit than the Spindrift sweatshirt.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Burned by Final sale again ... my black Lulu Frost bangle that I thought was such a great deal and bought as a ridealong just arrived, with a huge crack clean through the whole thing. Do they not even LOOK at these things before they ship them out?
ReplyDeleteSorry OT everyone, I had to vent.
Oh no, ruffles! What a bomb. :(
ReplyDeleteNothing from Factory for me right now. Nice to see the FS promo, but why not for regular retail too? Boo.
I noticed that this is the same model that that they used years ago!!! It's like welcome back!! Nothing for me at the moment!
ReplyDeleteOT....if an item is final salem but defective...can you not return it? Thanks. Carolyn from Vancouver
ReplyDeleteA few reviews from last Sunday's visit to the Crewlet HERE

ReplyDeleteA defective item is always returnable! The contract implicit in a final sale is predicated on the fact that the merchandise is as pictured. If you bracelet arrived broken, you are not bound to the purchase contract. If they give you hell, ask to speak with the manager, then go directly to Mickey Drexler!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I received a tank last year with a hole in it. I e-mailed that 24-7 address with a photo of the item and was issued the credit within an hour.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I've gotten a defective or wrong item, they will usually "pre return" it. They immediately issue a credit to your method of payment, and then you just return the item at your leisure. Sadly, this has happened to me A LOT lately.
ReplyDeleteNothing factory for me, though some of the necklaces are pretty cute.
Has anyone seen the starfish earings in a store? How is the look and quality of them? Thanks
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice promo, but I will pass considering I just got a bunch of things with the extra 30% off Factory last week. From that order, here are some notes:
ReplyDeleteSequin zebra t-shirt: Although this shirt is adorable, on me the zebra's ears hit at an unfortunate place. I really wanted to like it, but in the mirror all I saw was that the zebra ears hit right in the middle of my chest. Awkward. . will be returned.
Cotton v-neck sweater in bright citrus: Great basic, but as usual with me and JCrew v-necks, it is a little too boob-e-licious to be work appropriate without a cami underneath.
Factory Polka Dot Crosstown Tee in Navy: Super cute! Great buy considering JCrew just released more polka dot items this week. I know I will wear this one a lot.
Factory double serge pencil skirt in neon rose: Again, a great piece! I live in AZ so prefer the cotton options that Factory offers. This fit TTS and is very flattering. Good color too ... not too neon. I will wear this a lot!
Hope that helps anyone!
I also ordered the zebra tee w/the 30 off promo last week and sadly I already mailed it back. It is really cute but I'm between a M and L in t-shirts (more often L), but the L felt "skimpy". It fit fine but it just felt too clingy on me. So even at the sale price, still not a keeper for me unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteRuffles, definitely call the customer service number. I have always found that they allow returns of final sale items if the wrong item is sent or if the item is defective. Actually, my guess is that they are legally bound to allow returns of such items. The customer service person will note the allowed return on your order number so when you later return in-store, the note will pop up when the SA enters it. I'm guessing they will also allow a postage paid mail in return, if that's easier for you.
ReplyDeleteFirst time commenter and it's OT, but a really interesting article about J.Crew's strategy of using the Named garment. I never thought about it like this before! http://thenewinquiry.com/essays/who-can-you-trust/
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting, Taylor. I totally agree with that; there's something about giving a garment a 'name' that lends it a certain je ne sais quoi!
ReplyDeletea lot of j crew's factory items are actually discontinued pieces from madewell. i've bought a couple dresses from j crew factory that i had wanted when they were at madewell- glad i waited, as they were all about $60 cheaper.
ReplyDeleteI saw that article posted on JC's FB page. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how factory tees short sleeve tees compare with retail tees for the spring items? Think last winter season I had to size up to a small in their short sleeve tees from my usual xs retail. Anybody notice if factory tees run smaller for the spring items? TIA!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all who commented about my lame defective bracelet. I was sufficiently riled up to call customer service, and they will take it back as audreys described.
ReplyDeleteI love the JCA community BTW ...everyone is just awesome and helpful, thanks.
No Factory for me but happy weekend everyone.
Yay Ruffles. It sucks to feel like you've thrown your money away.
ReplyDeleteCuckoo, my experience is that the factory tees run the same as the corresponding original retail tee -- as we all know, JC retail does not have perfectly consistent sizing. Also, I like the factory tees as much as, if not more than, the retail tees. For one, they don't use that "tissue" material -- all the factory tees that I have ordered are much more substantial.

ReplyDeleteReally wish JCFactory would make 00 or petites or both... till then I only can buy tees and knits. Boo.
ReplyDeleteNo factory shopping for me. I prefer the promos with % off.
ReplyDeleteOT: Did anyone else get another email about the JC Credit Card? Are you able to pay your balance with another credit card like a MasterCard?
Hi there! First time posting!
ReplyDeleteI can't find any GOOD online codes to work with my shopping cart that has a Final Sale sweater and a reg priced item. Only 10% off and free shipping - which the free shipping doesn't seem to be working (from what I see in the checkout screen)
Anything better out there vs 10% and what's the deal with the non-Free shipping?
THANKS!!!! :)
I love the Factory IVY Print Cardigan!
ReplyDeleteSubscribing. :)
