It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".
This is image comes from J.Crew's Spring catalog back in 2008. The model is pairing a timeless chambray button down shirt with the Taffeta Rugby Skirt. (I love the full skirt with pockets.) Gorgeous!
What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?

ReplyDeleteI love looking at the old catalogs... I get so many ideas from them. And I wish I could go back and buy some of this stuff... Like this pic: A full skirt (with pockets!) and a button down shirt? Totally "me" :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! This is one of my all-time favorite J.Crew pairings worn by one of my all-time favorite J.Crew models, Anouck Lepere. I could easily see this outfit still being worn today.
ReplyDeleteAnother love..another sigh. These pics are so great. I want that shirt.

ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite skirts. I managed to find a sample for like $10 in a sample sale a few years back... thrilling! This pic is so cute too :)
ReplyDeleteI bought both the shirt and the skirt, but ended up selling them on ebay or plato's closet...:(
ReplyDeleteLove these "ye olde j crew" posts Alexis! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have the other color and I had to get it tailored because it was too big and I remember my tailor asking if he could sacrifice the pockets since it was quite a big job. Um no (duh! :) It is pretty but versus this color it is quite bright...
ReplyDeleteI would buy that whole look now!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I would love to wear this...skirt and shirt!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I would also like the car in the background...nice and classic also :)
Just curious...what was the other colorway the skirt was available in?
I love this skirt if anyone wants to get rid of one :)
ReplyDeleteI have this skirt. It's one of my all-time favorite jcrew pieces. :D
ReplyDeleteLove these posts. Based on a link from one of the other weekly "J. Crew of Season's Past. I spent a hour or so last Sunday browsing through some of the old catalogues online. It is wonderful that some of those styles are still perfect today.
