Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. No plans to visit so far, but will read what others have seen.

  2. I went to a b&m this week. The sale section included the same items as recently - fanfare jacket, ashbury print shirt and dress, lace front tees etc. I did get the basketweave tweed no. 2 skirt on sale ($79.99) so I was excited since it's still FP online. I was told that they had to send the basketweave skirts back to the warehouse so I lucked out as someone had returned the skirt that I bought.
Hopefully new items will get added to the sale section soon. :)

  3. I haven't been in weeks. I have a few returns and a slower weekend than I've had in ages, so hopefully going to make it in. Will report back!

  4. I should be receiving two sizes of the drawstring mini today. I'll be visiting the store the weekend to return what doesn't work.

  5. Hey ladies
If anyone sees an Ashbury Floral perfect shirt in a store in size 0 or 2 please email me! I keep forgetting that I must have that shirt.

  6. Debating whether to return my items from the recent 20% off promo this weekend or the next.

I really would like to use my reward card...

  7. Went to a B&M yesterday hoping to use my soon to expire rewards card on the new arrivals. Most of the items online are already out but I was disappointed not to see some of the interesting items from ajc's recent posts. I did not find anything from the new rollout worth trying on. The cashmere boatneck in multistripes look better online. At a thinner 14-gauge, I think it is overpriced at $238 IMO. Since I am not likely to be visiting a store before March 15, I did end up with 3 items: the navy polka dot jacquard popover (TTS but one size up will also work for a looser look), the boatneck popover (TTS to size down) which surprisingly looked good with my grey sterling skirt, and the Comme des Garcon Play striped heart tee (I sized up to Medium) which I've been craving since I saw Anne Hathaway wearing it. This shirt disappeared (together with the cute Comme des Garcon Play sneakers) during the recent 20% off promo. Surprise, both are now back online in all sizes! GRRRR. I think that's it from Jcrew for me this spring.

  8. Can anyone tell me how jcrew swim bottoms tend to run? Also does anyone know if swimsuits are returnable or able to be exchanged if full price?

  9. I went today for the first time in weeks. If anyone is looking for the gardenshade floral pencil skirt, there was a big rack of them at the store at Easton in Columbus, Ohio. There were also several of the basketweave tweed skirts, which is on sale as Jan noted. Saw lots of new arrivals. I was surprised by how much I liked the abstract leopard print (both the dress and the skirt), which oddly looks like leaves and flower buds to me instead of leopard. There's also a striped strapless knit maxi dress that I didn't see online. I'd love it if I were taller and had more toned arms. Oh, there were also three hearthrob shirts in 2, 4, and 6 if anyone is still looking for them.

  10. I went to two different B&M here in Seattle and Bellevue. I went a little crazy. Here are my reviews:

  11. Retail only striped, long sleeve maxidress in this post. Ema tried it, too, her link in my post.

  12. Just did some research and I think that the strapless dress I saw was the Amie dress in an in store only stripe.

  13. simplydreaming, I find that the sizing in the tanks has been consistent over the years, which means that once that you find what your your size is you are good. I buy a 4 in tanks which is two sizes up from my regular clothing size but consistent with my swimsuit size at other retailers so I would say that they run TTS (but again, this doesn't mean that you need to order a 0 if you are a 0 in their clothes). The bikinis were running big last year, especially the bottoms. I have always been a S but the S was huge. This year I haven't tried bikinis yet so maybe someone else can chime in. And yes, they are returnable so I would try a few fp just for sizing purposes.

  14. Thank you so much Ema, I was looking at the bikini's so I will make sure to just order a few sizes in the bottoms and hopefully one of them will work

  15. Lovely sale section at my store. I tried on the merino tatted lace sweater (thought I would hate it but I loved it!), the fanfare cardigan, and a few lace tees. I saw the fanfare tank, cardigan, and jacket in the sale section. Prices were the same as online for the items I was considering.

    No extra % off.

  16. Factor X-11, Welcome...That's brick and mortar, so regular store as opposed to online. Hope that helps.

  17. Can anyone comment on the sizing of the tulle one-piece swimsuit? also the support? And can one actually swim in it?

  18. Good morning! Had a PS appointment with two of my friends yesterday, and collectively, I believe we tried on every item in the store. I showed great restraint and left only with a pair of the Drea pumps and the Natasha top in gardenshade floral, but my wish list is now the length of my arm -- the website does really not do the new arrivals justice! I really, really loved the paisley Dolores dress, the linen city mini and a striped maxi skirt that appears to be in-store only right now.

  19. Hi Tammie, I loved that paisley skirt on you and actually thought the leopard print capris were very flattering on you but I can see what you mean about late 80's look. I say if you know you will wear them why not wait for sale and go for it!
Hi Gigi: You looked so great in that stripped maxi dress. I think it made you look tall. A pair of wedge sandals would look awesome with that dress.
    Thanks for the pics ladies!!!

  20. Thanks, Shekster - I've debated them since and think they are fun. I think I will wait for a sale and with a solid sweater or tee with sandals or pumps, I may go for it. The prices now are crazy. I had to get the pencils now. I hope the don't go on sale a week later.

  21. Went to my b&m today. I tried on a dumpy looking grey t-shirt dress. And I also tried on the leopard print cafe capris. They're very cute on, but the print is pretty loud. I don't think I'll get them unless they come down a lot in price. I will say I thought they were flattering despite the "seersucker" type of fabric they were and they were a very very soft feeling cotton. Really almost felt as comfy as sweats practically to me. I tried a 10 and 12. The 12's were the comfy fit and the 10's were probably more flattering in the butt but snug in the waist. I think that they might stretch out though. Also, saw a very cute blue and white striped short nylon/cotton blend stretch blazer. They didn't have a large. I'm sure a Medium would've been too small and the XL too big, so I didn't try it on , but I really liked it. Didn't see it online so maybe it's store only?
